Our family had an amazing week at The West Way! The views are spectacular, and the proximity to beaches and town was wonderful. The house and cottage was clean and spacious and super comfortable. We had a wonderful family celebration and made memories we will treasure forever. The property is so private and peaceful! Thank you Rob & Anna for being such thoughtful and super responsive hosts!

Perfect family vacation house

The West Way was a perfect vacation house for our family! Located in walking distance to Mansion Beach, Clayhead Beach, the North Lighthouse, the Labyrinth and the Nature Preserve, it is the perfect location for visiting the highlights of the island. The house has amazing outdoor spaces with a row of Adirondack chairs for optimal sunset viewing. A true Block Island treasure!

This house is a dream... great location, SO clean, well maintained and nicely decorated. Our teenagers LOVED the bedroom at the peak of the house and having all that room in the office area to spread out in. The parents were very happy in the first floor master, and the guest house is charming. We didn't have any little guys with us, but I'm sure they would love the basement!

Perfect Block Island house

We have stayed on Block Island many times through the years and the consensus of our family was, this was the best house ever. The Grants were wonderful hosts and their property is truly a gem.

Block Rocks

My family really enjoyed their stay! The spacious property turned out to be a wonderful asset. The bedrooms and cottage worked out perfectly for my family. We all hiked and biked throughout the island which was fabulous! We also took advantage of the Block Island night life! Thank you for helping us make such fun memories!

Wonderful spot!

This property is even better than the photos show! There is much more space in the house than we expected, with plenty of room for our two families. The large flat property is perfect for the kids to run around, or to sit and watch the sunset. And great location! Rob was a gracious host, very responsive, and nice communication. We hope to go back!

Great week!

Family of four stayed for a week in August. Great house with plenty of room. Yard was huge. Water views. Separate one room house was nice for guests to have space. The small plunge/lap pool was a huge plus and wasn’t even mentioned in listing. The house is nicer than the photos. Nice supply of new beach chairs so don’t waste room packing yours. Rob was really quick to respond over texts and nice to deal with.

Almost perfect

Our family (3 adults, 4 children) loved this house. We don’t like new houses as much as those who are updated but carry a history. The only suggestion I have is to add air conditioning in the bedrooms. It was hot and humid while there. We loved the “bee” keeper and felt fortunate to have an experience that was a teaching moment. I highly recommend this house and location.

4 nights at the West Way

My family and my sister’s family spent 4 nights here over Memorial Day weekend. The house is really nice and the property is huge, with plenty of space for our combined 5 kids to run around. There are ocean views to the west which make for spectacular sunsets. The beds are very comfortable and there are ample places both indoors and outdoors to hang out. It’s a short drive to town and a quick walk to the beach, albeit past the island’s transfer station. This would be a 5 star review aside from a few items worth noting that could be improved: The house lacks curtains or blinds in bedrooms and bathrooms. Be prepared to wake up with the sun. The cottage bathroom especially could really use curtains for privacy. The decks are spacious but have definite splinter potential. We got a few good ones, be careful. The bedrooms don’t all have dressers which made unpacking suitcases difficult. Towels, linens, and toiletries are not provided. I understand this is standard for BI, but we were surprised to learn that we were also expected to bring our own trash bags and toilet paper. We ended up finding enough at the house for our needs, so maybe this was a misunderstanding. Overall, this was a nice place in a spectacular setting. Rob was a responsive host and the price was reasonable. We would definitely stay here again for future visits to Block Island.

Sorry to hear you found the bright morning light less than ideal… New cottage blinds were ordered prior to the season starting and unfortunately didn’t arrive in time for your stay. They’re installed now and we hope you will come back again to test them out. You are correct that not providing sheets, towels and paper products is standard on Block Island. It is also stated in the listing and in our direct communication with you. Same time, we appreciate your feedback and are working to devise a reliable way to provide these things for our guests in the future. Cheers!

Simply Perfect!

What a beautiful spot! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting for our group. The Adirondack chairs out front is where we spent a lot of time with morning coffee, reading, watching the amazing sun set each evening and just closing our eyes to listen to the wind through the trees. We didn't go into town that much- spent most of time between the comfort of the house and the nearby beaches, but it's an easy bike ride into town! The house had all the amenities for cooking, with a great BBQ grill on the outside back deck with a large table for everyone to fit. The beds were so comfortable, and the house and back cottage were very clean! Host Rob was attentive and responded quickly with any questions we had. We loved it so much we will book again for next year!

2022 Family Vaca

Rob the host was a pleasure to work with and very accessible. First impression pulling up to the property is wow! The blue and purple hydrangeas take your breath away. Great living room for all of us to hang out, play cards, & Socialize into the wee hours. Loved the cottage and the lap pool on the back deck was a bonus! Great vacation great Home!
