Cozy with easy beach access! 3BR, 2-1/2BA, CH&A, 3 Cable TV's, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, Microwave, Grill, Outside Shower. Linens Furnished. Downstairs bedroom and 1/2 bath detached from main living space, outside entry only. NO PETS, NO SMOKING.

Catbird has the best location for a quiet and convenient beach vacation! Just 20 min to the amazing St George Island State Park and a 3 min walk to the beach from the house. Perfect views from the main floor balcony!

Nice location , needs a few updates and general maintenance to the property but it’s a cute place in a great location ! All the beds were not very comfortable, may be time to replace some mattresses ! The house had all the appliances and dishes you needed! Well stocked !

Here's our only criticism: insufficient supplies (toilet paper, tissue, no filters for coffee maker) and the A/C system was loud enough to wake the dead.

Nice house, great location

We loved our stay here. The house was perfect for my family. My only suggestion would be to provide soap of some kind in the kitchen area and provide extra towels.

Location was everything

We enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect with quick walking access to the beach and stores with a beautiful view of the ocean. The property has been neglected and would benefit with some cosmetic improvement, but is reflected in the price compared to others. Check in wasn’t friendly, as if we were not welcome, but they did allow us to stay an extra night. We would stay again.

Great location-Needs updating!

Great location and view of the water. House is very dated and needs new deck furniture. Only has 2 low sitting chairs so you cannot see the ocean. However, the bed was very comfortable and we had a great time.

Home is slightly dated, and could use some deep cleaning and a new coffee pot. One pot of coffee takes about 1.5 hours to brew, I recommend bringing your own. But the house has everything else you need. TVs in the bedrooms do not work but who’s watching tv at the beach anyways. Perfect walking distance to anything you want and a room the street from the beach is the best plus ever!

Great Stay

We enjoyed our stay at Catbird Seat. One thing I did not realize is that the bottom bedroom is completely separate from the rest of the house. It has its own entrance on the ground floor and this is where the washer and dryer is located as well. Check in was a breeze and we were able to check in at 2 instead of 4. The views were nice and the AC kept the house freezing. I had to turn it up from the normal temp that I keep my house at because I was always so cold!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was an older but fairly nice property. The location was great and you still had a nice view from the deck. The downstairs bedroom was very small but functional. The window AC units worked well. We did find 2 4" dead cockroaches and one small live one. So maybe they should spray more frequently. Not sure why we needed to check in in person in a one hour window as they just gave us a code to the door and not a physical key. Other rentals on SGI have us sign digitally and do all the communication electronically. But the property management people were very friendly.

Nice vacation!

A lovely cozy house with a beautiful view of the bay. Clean towels and bed linens were provided. I ran a bit short on funds for laundry and showering; there was also a shortage of toilet paper and paper towels. Additionally, there was inadequate outdoor lighting on the first floor and external power outlets. Apart from that, everything was good.

Catbird Seat Stay

Great location. Comfortable home that felt like a time capsule back to 1977. No updated anything which was fine by me. The bedroom setup was nice for separation although the light switches upstairs weren’t working which was an inconvenience. The management were helpful when needed which was nice.

Loved the State Park and Paddy's Raw Bar

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The island of St George is waaaaay laid back - actually not a lot to do. The house was 'meh' for the price, and needed a lot of maintenance (actually could use a full reno). It's a pretty old place. The second bedroom is a loft with no door so you hear all the kitchen noises in the am. The beach is gorgeous - especially down at the state park, which is a fabulous state park. We will come back, but it will be in our RV!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view on the deck and location was great! Home was clean but in dire need of an update. The shower door on the main level is too small for the space. You had to squeeze yourself to get in and out. And the vent was right over the bed on the main level and would blow air on your face while you were sleeping. Even if you shut the vent, it would whistle all night and you could not sleep. Beds were lumpy too. If this house was renovated, it would get 5 stars. But it was clean and the location and view was great!

Only (1) bedroom has a door. The other is upstairs but decent room but no door. Linens/bedding were basic accommodations so not extremely comfortable. My only negative feedback. Otherwise unit was in very clean condition, location great, and views (no house across street to block it) was exceptional. For the $ it was well worth the stay. Just be aware of room situation.

Anyone considering this property for their vacation should be aware of the following: The photos did not represent this property in the size of the rooms, amenities and functionality, not enough seating inside for our party of six, roaches and ants found in bathrooms, outside shower was overgrown with weeds, floors were sagging when you walked on them, furniture was so dirty we used the quilts we brought from home to cover them so we could sit on them. When complaints were made to management, additional plastic Adirondack chairs were brought to us and a partial refund was provided.The view was spectacular and we did enjoy the deck which was newer and very nice. We understand that this is an older property but I would suggest newer pictures to truly represent the size of the rooms and status of the home.

Family Weekend

A wonderful stay in a nice house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall our stay was wonderful. This house is in a great location and has beautiful ocean views. The beach is just a 3 or 4 minute walk from the house and far enough from public beaches that it wasn’t crowded. The ground level bedroom had a dedicated air conditioner which worked well and was clean. There is a small powder room so you don’t have to go upstairs to use a toilet and sink.The washer works well but the dryer does not heat and did not dry our clothes and towels, even after several rounds of drying. I used the deck to hang dry as much as possible. The main house was comfortably sized and the kitchen was clean and well stocked. The fridge is missing some of the bars that keep things from falling off the door shelves, which limited space in the fridge and freezer, but it worked well otherwise. The dining space was ample, with a large table and breakfast bar. The living room furniture was nice, but there wasn’t enough seating for the max occupancy of 6 people between the couch and two chairs. The bathroom on the main level has a walk-in shower that has a very narrow opening to get into the shower (less than 18” wide). There were some dirty spots in corners where it was obvious that it had not been deep cleaned in some time but the majority of the space was clean. The adjoining bedroom was clean and comfortable. The bed was quite firm but there were lots of extra pillows available.The bedroom upstairs does not have a door but is fairly private. It was clean and comfortable. It also has a firm bed. The bathroom upstairs was mostly clean, but like downstairs, had a few places that needed a good scrub. It has a bathtub with a shower and had plenty of space to get into as it has a curtain. The outdoor soffits need some vinyl replaced/repaired and the toilets are older and need to be recaulked but the property was in good condition overall.

Great Week on St George

Reviewer Comments: Great Location and view from across the street; Can easily park 2 vehicles underneath for shade; very clean even though an older house. A couple of things to work on; 1. Walk in shower on the main floor has the wrong size doors on it so you only have about 20 inches to get in. Larger people can NOT get in the shower. 2. Outdoor shower needs a better place to stand and the growth should be cut back. Overall a very good price for the stay and I would go there again.

Great location, horribly out of date and not clean.

Reviewer Comments: The location was perfect and super close to the local grocery store, coffee shop and restaurants. We came to get away from the craziness of the city we are from and we got that. But oh boy do you guys need to update this unit. Upon arrival, I had to wipe down all the surfaces with Clorox wipes because dust/grime was sitting on all surfaces. I also had to sweep and vacuum the floors from all the dust and hair that your cleaning crew forgot to take care of. The carpet in the main bedroom on the main floor had stains. The AC vent in that same bedroom blasted AC to the head of the bed every time it was on so we had to push the bed towards the wall so that we could get away from the vent a little in order to sleep. It stormed a couple of days during our stay and water kept leaking through the window of the upstairs bedroom where the AC unit was located therefore shutting off the AC unit. Pretty dangerous if you ask me. The light bulbs for the outdoor lighting weren’t all appropriately lit for the turtles. The dishwasher was very outdated and kept water pooled at the bottom and did not clean dishes too well. Lastly the Adirondack chairs were the most uncomfortable chairs and disabled your view to the ocean. Other than all that, the views and lack of many other vacationers made our stay worth it.

Having stayed there before (a long time ago, it still took our breath away. Once you get past that you can appreciate the house. The wooden beams and ceiling, the flooring. And if you're a kitchen person - lots of cabinets and space. I loved that there was plenty of utensils and plates, etc.Was it perfect?... no. But it was perfect enough for hubs and me. It took us a couple of days to get the TV to work and called the Suncoast about it and they weren't helpful and never got back to us.but we weren't there to watch TV. Somethings we never figured out... like the light fixture over the table? Again, did it take away from our vacation?.. no. Pack
