40th anniversary

My husband and I took a quick trip to SGI for our anniversary. We needed it to be pet friendly and also wanted to be able to rent a golf cart to putter around. Windjammer was perfect for us and just a short walk to the beach.

Our favorite place on the island

We have stayed at many different houses on st george over the past 5 years and this has been our top favorite place by far! All of the artwork in the house is so beautiful. I noticed something new every time i walked around! From one artist to another, soooo visually entertaining. So welcoming and comfortable. And the sitting area under the house was our favorite spot! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Great Place to Vacation

Reviewer Comments: very nice accommodations, beautiful deck to enjoy the sun, awesome outdoor shower with hot and cold water, interior provided plenty of space to relax, great couch for naps, frig with ice maker, air conditioner that works perfectly. Lower level beneath the deck to hang clothes and get out of the rain including a swing and fish cleaning station, nice little laundry room with large table to fold clothes. Short walk ( 200 feet) across the dunes to the beach. Really enjoyed the place.

15th stay at Windjammer

Best thing is location direct easy across the street access to the beach. The underneath area of house is concrete with seating, outdoor shower, laundry room, grill and nice fish cleaning sink. Laticed in all around it. House has large living area and dining table. Well equipped kitchen. Bedrooms and bath not fancy but clean. We caught trout, Spanish mackerel, pompano, blue fish, croaker and some trash fish hard head catfish our 4 night stay. Good house for the money.

Windjammer weekend

Looking for a 2 night stay on St George Island, FL via VRBO I was surprised at how expensive the rates are for this time of year. Windjammer is in a good location. It’s a fairly old house across the street from beach front. Furnishings are old and showing signs of wear. Soiled arms on upholstered chairs. Kitchen floor has some weak spots you can feel when walking on it. Woodwork could use cleaning and some paint. Had some really good food at local restaurants - Paddy’s, Filling Station, Lynn’s and Hole in the Wall. It’s a shame the real Apalachicola Oysters are no longer available .

Reviewer Comments: The house was very clean and the Suncoast team was very quick to respond to questions or problems we had.We had 8 people in the house and it is set up well for everyone to have room. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfortable.Just an FYI - the water gets VERY hot and the water pressure is great. The laundry room is downstairs but worked great.Negatives - the wooden railings, outdoor furniture and stairs are in poor shape and there is no light that shines on the stairs. Some of the furniture in the living room also needs repaired. There were a couple of spots on the carpet that need cleaned but overall the house was very clean.If you have a house full of people, plan on bringing toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap as there is a small amount provided.The fish cleaning station downstairs was very handy and well lit.Easy access to the beach and the ANERR bay site is a few blocks away down 6th street.Thanks to the Suncoast staff and maintenance for great service.
