Very nice spot, everything was clean and instructions were quite clear. Great and close to the beach. Pool was nice.

Quick walk to the beach. Great room. Especially appreciated the washer/dryer after all our swimming.

SandFest Extravaganza

Enjoyed everything about the condo. It was clean, easy to check in and out. Did not go to pool due to cold, rainy weather but this is 2nd time staying at this location and it didn't disappoint. Even had last minute friends join on same property, different condo and they loved it as well!

Comfortable and Good Location

This is truly a business owned condo experience inside vs a private owner. The location was great for walking to the beach and the pool/hot tub was enjoyable as well. Parking is amble and felt safe on-site. Condo itself structure needs some updating (bathroom mostly) but overall nice. Make sure you bring your own everything (garbage bags, food storage plastic wrap, foil, beach toys, games etc...) as it's not a private owner and nothing is "left" for use

Reviewer Comments: It was ok, there were cockroaches in the house, no lights in the master if I wanted the fan on, the dining room light was so dim we had to bring a living room lamp over to use, the outside chairs were very unsafe to sit in and left flaked yellow paint on you, and the bathtubs were very slippery, I had to put a towel down on the inside of the tub so as to not slip.

Great Spot, Needs TLC

Reviewer Comments: This is our second time renting the Beach Bum Retreat, first time was just ok a little disappointed in the overall condition but decided to give it another chance. Suggestions, update ALL light bulbs, the bathroom was the only room that had decent lights. Furniture needs a good cleaning and the full size bed headboard was not attached to the bed. Just minor things, the location is fantastic and the folks at Padre Escapes are the best!!!

Reviewer Comments: Nice condo, no issues with it, however the instructions for how to operate the TV weren't available so we had to call for someone to come over and show us how to turn it on since simply pushing the power button did not work. Also, the access card to the pool & gym was hidden behind the front door. We had to call to locate it. But other then the kids in the unit above us stomping around at all hours of the day & night it was it was a pleasant stay.

Needs A Little TLC

Reviewer Comments: this little unit has great potential but definitely needs repairs and love, rusty shower rings and moldy curtain, bed had stains, not enough pillow cases, kitchen items were dirty in drawers,trash left in closet shelf, candy wrappers and plastic in closet. Bath faucet broken, shower towel holder broken. Dingy yellow light bulbs.

Not a short walk to beach .

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The place was clean . The appliances were old... but did the job.. Iim sure padre escapes manages several properties but if you want walking distance do not stay in the yellow condos. It’s at least 20 mins to walk and you walk in busy streets .. they say no canopies , I even texted host they said no canopies.. This is not a private beach , it was filled with canopies... I was not happy with the false advertising of short walk and no canopies... totally untrue. So be prepared for a drive to the beach and take your canopy... they did have a nice pool. Thank goodness. We’d stay here again knowing what I know now but would not be my first choice. I like the beach ti be close.

girls 70th birthday trip

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: All was well until time to use shower. Water would not shut completely off and was running hot water. Was late in day so left run with door closed so could sleep without hearing. Next day plumber comes...says fixed. After shower same thing. Called office again. Floor also did not feel very clean. Ended up moving us to another unit. Was inconvenient but at least we had properly running shower. The new unit was a definite upgrade from other unit. Complex is beginning to get a bit rundown.
