Enjoy the forest and frequent bear friends, soak in the new hot tub, dine al fresco, & be spoiled by gourmet coffee bar, full service kitchen, plush Helix mattresses, luxurious sateen sheets, spa baths & more!
Wind up the mountain to 3000 feet, past towering trees, spiraling hawks, and lumbering bears. As you park and step out of your vehicle, you`ll notice the bubbling of a nearby stream and calling of songbirds, and know that your vacation has officially begun! Enter Blue Ridge Bliss cabin, and sink into luxury. Revel in a professionally-designed, newly renovated interior. Cuddle up on Pottery Barn sofas with soft fur throws. Share dinner and games with the family, and enjoy our fully stocked cook`s kitchen. End the day with a sunset soak in the bubbling new hot tub and al fresco dining on the wraparound deck.
OUTDOOR LIVING is what it`s all about! Our land backs up to the Blue Ridge Parkway preserve and leads directly to the famous 1175-mile Mountains-to-Sea Trail. Relax in the brand new, 56-jet, 6-seater spa with LED lights, waterfall, and hydrotherapeutic massage action. Warm up by an evening campfire in our custom forest firepit. Enjoy a steamy cup of morning coffee on comfy porch seats, surrounded by rustling old growth trees and chattering squirrels. Dine al fresco with friends and family, with festive string lights and seating for 8.
ALL BEDROOMS are furnished with folding luggage racks, premium Helix Midnight mattresses** and 600 thread-count, ultra long-staple, 100% cotton sateen sheets.
Bedroom 1: Upstairs queen bed w/ ensuite bathroom
Bedroom 2: Main floor queen bed, adjacent bath with full bathtub
Bedroom 3: Upstairs oversized room w/ full bed, twin daybed +trundle, ensuite bathroom. **Please note that the trundle mattress is a thinner 6` Lucid memory foam mattress in order to accommodate the height of the trundle. It is a mattress suited for children, not recommended for adults.
ALL BATHROOMS are newly remodeled! Upstairs baths are equipped with rainfall shower heads, hand showers, oversized mirrors, sliding barn doors, and herringbone slate floor/shower tile. Downstairs bath has a full-sized bathtub.
KITCHEN AMENITIES include stainless appliances, gourmet coffee bar, stainless steel pots and pans, quality German Henckels knives, KitchenAid blender, toaster oven, waffle maker, crock pot, and all the little things that make cooking fun: Microplane, cheese shredder, citrus reamer, can opener, colander, mixing bowls mortar and pestle, salad spinner, baking sheets, measuring cups/spoons, olive oil, spices
GOURMET COFFEE BAR includes dark French roast, medium breakfast roast, and decaf whole beans, Cuisinart drip coffee maker, french press, bean grinder, creamer, sugar, Torani syrups, hot chocolate, and tea.
KIDS AMENITIES include: kid-friendly plastic plates/cups, two child-sized chairs, toys, books, and puzzles mainly aimed at the 2-7yo crowd. Some examples of our constantly rotating stock: vintage wood cabin play kitchen, Melissa & Doug wood play foods, Melissa & Doug wood puzzles, larger floor puzzles, wooden blocks, Matchbox cars, bristle blocks, Dr. Seuss books, Magic Treehouse books. Plus many acres of lively forest and stream to explore (with supervision, of course)! Need more kid/baby stuff? No problem! We have relationships with local equipment rental moms at very reasonable prices - like Uber for baby gear!
TECHNOLOGY: We hope that you can unplug and enjoy the outdoors in earnest while visiting, but also provide a smart-TV with Roku system that allows you to log into your own Netflix and other streaming accounts. Our internet connectivity is strong for a rural community, with connection provided by T-Mobile broadband.
Need more space? More time? A different vibe? Click on our profile photo to see all of our nearby listings!
Guests have full access to the cabin (minus small locked owner`s closet), wraparound deck, hot tub, our private 4 acres of forest and streams, plus hundreds of acres of adjoining Blue Ridge Parkway protected forest land.
The heart of Downtown Asheville is just 18 minutes away, down the mountain!
This cabin is a family vacation home, so we are not local but readily available by message and phone
Located in Asheville`s quiet neighborhood of Riceville Forest, just off Tunnel Road. Centrally located with the Blue Ridge Parkway in the backyard (literally!) and Downtown Asheville just a few minutes away.
Please note that the mountain roads in this area are winding and steep, and you will encounter wildlife. There is a short gravel driveway that is steep and somewhat rough (improvements coming!), so 4-wheel drive vehicles are required during periods of inclement weather. Due to our location, snowplows can take several days to reach the neighborhood. Guests are responsible for tracking expected weather during their stay and planning accordingly. Refunds will not be given for weather-related changes/cancellations outside of our already-generous cancellation policy.
-Please review the lease agreement which becomes binding at booking under âHouse Rulesâ
-Due to insurance liability, we are unable to rent to anyone under 25 years old. There must be someone at least 25 years old present in order to rent our home, and photo ID will be required prior to check-in. New users to the Airbnb platform will be greeted in person at check-in to verify identity and IDs.
-No parties allowed! Parties are strictly banned across the entire Airbnb platform. Also, we are in a quiet residential community. Neighbors will not hesitate to report excessive noise to the police and to us. Immediate eviction with *no refund* will result if there is a party on the property.
-Verizon has the best cell reception at the cabin. T-Mobile gets very little. AT&T is somewhere in the middle. Please plan accordingly.
-Please note that the fireplace is inoperable at this time, but we have just installed a gorgeous new forest firepit outside! Please feel free to burn any sticks found on the forest floor (there are lots!), or firewood can be purchased down the mountain at Ingles Market.
-Bears live on the land and are frequent visitors. They are awfully cute, but please don`t approach. They will leave you alone if you leave them alone, and never get between a mama bear and her cubs! They are clever and know how to open house and car doors, even the hot tub cover. Lock all doors/covers, and don`t leave any food in your car, or you may encounter a furry surprise!
-Nature abounds in the forest! Wooded areas are home to critters such as but not limited to bears, deer, squirrels, rodents, spiders, ants, and insects. We are contracted with a pest control company with regularly scheduled treatments... but alas, Mother Nature reigns, and bugs and critters thrive out here. Please understand the possibility of seeing critters in and around the home, and that their presence does not entitle the guest to a refund.
-For guests arriving in winter, early spring or late fall, please be mindful of the weather. The gravel drive is steep, and the road leading to the cabin is narrow and curvy in spots and may become icy. A 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle is necessary in winter weather.
-No smoking in the house. If you need to smoke, please do so outside and properly dispose of waste. Take care to ensure embers are not left to smolder in forest leaf pilings or other flammable surfaces.
-Free WiFi is included. Please note that means downloading content like email and light streaming is usually okay, but heavy multiple users or upload-heavy (outgoing) content like Zoom is more difficult. So that means no Zoom meetings while on vacay, folks! Do not unplug or alter the router or modem or any electronic devices in any way. Before checking out please remember to log out of streaming services if you used them with your account (Netflix, Disney, etc.).
-Maximum capacity is limited to 8 folks, including children. The cabin is on a septic system (like much of the local area), so exceeding capacity would mean an overloaded septic system, which means open sewage issues which... ew. Nobody wants that.
-Guests routinely comment on the `sparkling` cleanliness achieved by our very hardworking cleaning team. Everyone is human, though, so please let us know if anything is amiss immediately upon check-in.
-To protect your vacation investment, we encourage you to purchase travel insurance. No refunds will be given due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
-Security devices on premises: Ring Doorbell cam at front door, Ring Floodlight cam facing driveway and parking area
Pets (2 max) must be crated when left alone indoors and leashed when outside. Pets are not allowed on furniture
No smoking or vaping indoors. Smoking waste must be disposed of properly and not allowed to smolder on the ground; the cabin is in a high fire danger zone.
Please be respectful of the neighbors and reduce noise and light volume between 10pm and 8am
No parties
Never approach bears
Keep all doors locked
No climbing trees
Please remove shoes inside the house
