Lake Lure is BACK! After a long and arduous journey of recovery from Hurricane Helene, our beautiful mountain lake is ready for the 2026 season. Please consider our home as your explore the options in the area. The town and surrounding community are eager to accommodate you - your visit helps our businesses thrive!

The best of treehouse and lakefront living! Charming cottage located on beautiful Lake Lure surrounded by trees in a relaxed and peaceful setting. The home is located conveniently near a local supermarket, restaurants, and Chimney Rock State Park. This cozy abode has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Knotty pine-wood walls and ceilings, hardwood floors, and 2 gas fireplaces grace this getaway.

**If you have mobility or endurance concerns, note there 100 steps down to the lake.

Upon entering, you will find 2 bedrooms: one has a queen-sized bed, the other has a set of log style bunk beds. The bathroom has a tub and shower. The large kitchen has plenty of counter space and is filled with all the amenities. It is open to the living room which features a gas fireplace, and the dining room has a rustic style wood table that can seat up to 8 people. A flat screened television hangs above the mantel and can be viewed from the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Off of the kitchen is an outdoor deck with a gas grill and beautiful views. The lower-level bedroom suite sports a private bath, gas fireplace, TV and sofa. **This home has stairs, so please take note if this is a concern.

Beyond the lower suite is a screened porch and a deck with a variety of seating. Walk down the stairs to our large firepit patio (supply your own firewood - buy locally at Ingles Supermarket and elsewhere).

Continue down the stairs to the boathouse and dock. Use our two-person kayak or standup paddleboard, a variety of floats, or just take a swim. Try some fishing off the dock.

Whether you are looking for romance, an escape from your everyday life, or a relaxing family getaway, our charming cottage is the answer.

There is parking for three cars and a small step up to the front entrance.

This is a cozy cabin just beyond the dam on Lake Lure. It was a nice setting for a girls getaway weekend. Clearly, the town of Lake Lure is still recovering from the effects of Hurricane Helene and clean-up is ongoing. The outside of the property could use some TLC, namely removing spider webs from windows and doors, cleaning pollen/dirt from patio and outside furniture, and sweeping walkways. While boat house amenities were included in the rental, we didn't use any water equipment because debris has collected around and under the boat house.

I think we may have been the first visitors for several months. The place seemed a little unlived in with some of the detritus of winter. After a couple of days it felt better. We had everything we needed except for hanging space in the basement bedroom. We enjoyed the gas firelogs at night.We did not realise there were so many steps inside and outside. My friend could not manage the outside ones.The location is convenient and we enjoyed the view of the lake and the dam. It was quiet, peaceful, and easy to find

Thanks for your review. We normally have our housekeeper freshen up before each guest, but there was a miscommunication this time. I’m sorry it wasn’t up to our standards for you! We will install a clothing rod in the basement for the future. We also mention the 100 stairs to the lake in the description, but I will update it to be clearer about inside and outside stairs.

Cozy and Quiet

Sunset Cove cottage was everything we had hoped for. Lovely view of the lake, nice spot for a little campfire, cozy, clean, comfortable and quiet. We had a great stay!

Wonderful stay on the lake

The house is in a great location. The lake is gorgeous. We rented a boat for the weekend and spent so much time on the lake. The house is clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Really enjoyed it!

Perfect property at great location.

A truly wonderful home in a great setting. So comfortable and cozy with a great variety of spots for just reading, watching the views of the lake, trees, wildlife, etc. We SO enjoyed our short but sweet visit. We lacked for nothing.

Beautiful week in Lake Lure

This lake house was perfect. It had everything we needed and more. We had a love/hate relationship with the 95 steps but our bodies thanked us. The location was perfect with easy access to everything we did. We would definitely stay here again.

Lovely lake home

This is a beautifully updated lake home. It has a well-equipped updated kitchen and a fabulous master suite, but has retained a cozy cabin feel. We had a fabulous time!

Second year staying at this fantastically located house on the lake! We love the quietness of the cove, the fishing dock, paddle board, and canoe. We lived on the water. The owners were amazing to deal with and we plan to come again.

Spacious lakefront property with amazing views

The cottage was a cute lakefront cottage with beautiful lake views. It had plenty of space for a large family. So many outdoor areas to enjoy. We would love to visit again. Sherry was great to work with. Highly recommend!

I had a fabulous time. The room I stayed in was so cozy an comfortable. My daughter’s want to come back when it is warmer. We enjoyed every minute of the house and the town of Lake Lure.

Great Lake life

Great house, amazing location. We had everything we needed and more! The kids and dogs spent the entire time in the lake…. Which was nestled on a quiet, safe cove. Lots of water toys provided in the boat house. Owners were super responsive and friendly. Definitely 5 stars

Family fun

We had a great time at this adorable cabin! It’s clean, with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows at the fire pit and swimming, floating, and kayaking around the lake! The highlight was water skiing and tubing with Lake Lure Adventures! Great hiking and beautiful waterfalls and views at Chimney Rock State Park. We would definitely return!

Beautiful spot

The lake house is an amazing, beautiful spot. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The downstairs bed was very comfortable! The boathouse came with a lot of toys to really maximize this lakefront stay. We stayed in this property the weekend before the hurricane hit. I’m not sure how the hurricane affected the property, but it would be an injustice not to leave a glowing review because we had an amazing stay here!

Immersive Lake Life

This property sits on a quiet cove that provides a serene Lake atmosphere. All the modern conveniences of a lake rental were provided and the bonus access to a 2-person kayak and stand up paddle board. The house is close to restaurants and other amenities that make for an ideal stay no matter the length of time. Would highly recommed.

Thanksgiving getaway to visit with nearby family. Was exactly what we were looking for and more. Peaceful, beautiful sunrises, and extremely comfortable. Coffee on lower deck and wine on upper deck in evenings. Could not imagine a rental being more stocked. Thanks!!!
