Blue Heron Cottage is a cozy beach cottage offering 2 bedrooms - Master w/Queen bed and Guest Room with Twin & Full size bunk beds. Cottage was completely renovated in March 2023. Enjoy a screened porch off the living room and amazing sunset views over Monroe Bay right from your front porch! Ample fenced yard, private driveway and outdoor seating. Monroe Bay is 1 block from the cottage and the Potomac River is 3 blocks. Easy access to beach, local restaurants and stores. The grocery store is 5 minutes by car. Use of golf cart is available for additional fee. Cottage offers guests Wi-Fi and cable. Bath towels and bed linens are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.

Perfect for my little family

I stayed at the Blue Heron with my 2 kids (2 and 10) and my large dog. The fenced in large yard was absolutely wonderful to have everyone outside when at the house. I loved the lot - so much space on 3 of the sides without being right on top of another house! The bay view off the side of the house really topped it off! The house was incredibly clean inside. As an unexpected surprise, there’s an auto ice maker in the freezer, saving me from having to make a trip to a store with the kids for filling our cooler. My kids loved the whole experience so much, they keep asking when we can stay again. Both kids got teary eyed when we left. We absolutely will be back.

Great little house close to the river and to Monroe Bay. Perfect house for a mini getaway for my wife and I. Communication with the hosts was super easy, and the use of the golf cart was a huge added bonus!

Enjoyed Our Stay

The recently updated Blue Heron Cottage was neat and clean and the beds were truly comfortable. The cottage is just a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Colonial Beach. The attractions at Westmoreland State Park, including Fossil Beach, are a short drive away.

Ideal location!

Really cute home! Could use a blow dryer, I never travel with one because every vacation rental has at least one. Also, maybe better quality bath towels & bedding. Loved the use of the golf cart!!Thank you, Colonial Beach is wonderful!Loved

Cozy quarters

Wonderful golf cart community! Perfect way to relax, short walk to the water in either direction. Meet allot of the locals, enjoyed the local breweries and restuarants.

Cozy Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Heron Cottage. Our dog Rosie especially liked the fenced yard and screened in porch, where she basked in the sun. The location was central and convenient for my husband and I to enjoy local oysters, a winery tour, and a hike in Caladon State Park. We had never been to Colonial Beach before, but we will be back!

Cozy cottage

This is a great cottage . Close to everything, but in a quaint quiet neighborhood. You won’t be disappointed its even better than the pictures. Absolutely perfect for a small family and dog. Screened porch and outside decks were great . Definitely a five star.

Excellent Stay

The Blue Heron Cottage was an excellent stay for my family. While small, the property was big enough for us and two kids. The cottage itself inside was pretty new all around. The only thing that needs updating would be the shower. Full kitchen with oven and fridge was nice. Beds comfy. Property good for kids and a dog if you have one. The best part was the location. A block from the bay and three from the river. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for having us!

Amazing cottage perfectly located!

This has been our favorite beach stay by far and we have been all over from VA, MD, DE, NC, SC.. the cottage was perfect for our and family and in an amazing location between the bay, the main beaches, and all the restaurants, shops, and the boardwalk. Highly recommend renting this, we will absolutely be back! Our family stopped by to see it as they were stayjng at a campground close by and they loved the house and location so much they are looking into renting it as well. Very clean, very responsive and helpful! ly recommend

Small but nice

The cottage was small but perfict for 2 people and had good view from the side porch of Monroe Bay. It was clean and had what was needed in the kitchen. The owner was responsive to the tv problem and very friendly. We had a great time in a relaxing, quite location.

The charm of this cottage made it the perfect choice. You are conveniently located on The Point in Colonial Beach. The town is golf cart friendly and all restaurants in town can be accessed by golf cart. You can also access the Food Lion by cart.

The town offers free Trolley rides on the weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Trolley aka The Osprey makes numerous stops throughout the town at restaurants and marinas. Don't miss the amazing sunsets you will find here.
