Catskill Mountain House

Enjoy panoramic views of the beautiful Catskill Mountains from this lovely, newly-renovated house set on 5 secluded acres. This custom home has a two-story living room with a fireplace, gourmet kitchen, a large master suite and plenty of space for groups to gather. The large deck, hot tub, and wooded fire pit are great for entertaining all year round. At just 20 min to Hunter & Windham and 20 min to the HITS horse shows, you have access to all that the Catskills and Hudson Valley have to offer.

The kitchen is fully stocked for any guests who enjoy cooking. It features a dishwasher, full set of All Clad pots and pans, a set of chef's knives, a dutch oven, cast iron skillet, mixing bowls and cooking utensils. We also provide a toaster, microwave, electric kettle, drip coffee maker and a nespresso machine with milk frother for those who prefer espresso or cappuccino.
The dining area has an extendable dining room table and enough chairs to seat up to 12 guests. We also have a bar with highball glasses, wine glasses and decanters for anyone who enjoys a whiskey or glass of wine by the fire. There is a large open concept living room with a wood burning fireplace and comfortable seating; french doors lead directly out onto the large deck. The separate laundry room has a full size washer and dryer for any guests who are visiting for a longer stay.

We provide laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The three bathrooms are fully stocked with fluffy towels, hand soap and toilet paper. Each bed features a brand new mattress, pillows, linens and a duvet. Extra pillows, linens and blankets are available in each bedroom.
Upstairs there is a large entertainment room with a sectional couch and a 65" TV. We have books and games as well as satellite television and internet. Outside you'll find the new 6 person hot tub (please no glass near or in the hot tub), a large deck with two weber grills (one gas and the other charcoal), extra firewood, comfortable lounge chairs and a hammock to take in the view. A fire pit with more chairs is tucked into the woods on the side of the property.
The house is at the end of a quiet cul de sac so you don't have to worry about any traffic. Even though it feels secluded, it's only a 10 minute drive to the quaint village of Catskill and many other attractions. The 5 acre lot is covered with mature trees and very little under brush if you wish to explore the property. Down the hill and across the road from the house there is a waterfall and creek which you can explore and you can also access numerous hiking trails, allowing you to set off on your hike directly from the house. There is a lot of wildlife in the area, including deer, foxes, bears, birds and numerous chipmunks, so please keep a look out as you explore the property and do not leave any food or garbage unattended outside.
If you're looking for things to do in the surrounding area, we have a guest book that you'll see when you arrive with restaurant recommendations. You can quickly reach the towns of Saugerties or Hudson for antiquing and the well known town of Woodstock is also close by.
The house is close to both Hunter and Windham mountains which feature skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. There are golf courses in the area and river tubing and white water rafting. The Hudson river is close by and there are a few different places in Catskill where you can rent kayaks to take out on the river. We recommend that you have a car for getting around.
The Amtrak train stops at Hudson, NY which is a 15 minutes drive from the house. It's possible to take an Uber or taxi from the train station to the house if you have guests arriving without a car. The house is about a 30 minute drive from Albany which has the nearest airport. The house has a two car garage which guests are welcome to use and parking space for three (or more) cars in the driveway.
