Scott, I'm so sorry about you being upset about the pool temperature. My pool guy is not suppose to turn on unless someone has paid for it. It is an additional charge for the pool heat. So if and when you decide to come back please get with me about heating the pool. I wish you had called me personally about it. Amy, Once again, I am truly sorry that the AC went out upstairs during your week at the beach. We did as much as we could possibly do to remedy the situation within our means. There is never a good time for this to happen. You failed to mention that we already returned your $300 deposit and the $230 you paid for the golf cart due to the interruption to your stay. You also failed to mention that I offered you a credit of $2,431.00 for the part of the week you didn't use because you left. You refused my credit offer! VRBO even said they cannot do anything for you since you did not call them when this happened. They would have moved you to another house if you had called. The fact you up and left they told you there is nothing they can do. You also, failed to mention I was trying to find you another place for you to move to, but you said don't bother your leaving in the morning and that you didn't want to move to another house. That was to much trouble to move to another house. The credit I offered you came open ended and had no time limit that you could use anytime. I did not tell you that I would refund you! I did tell you that I would do something for you since you didn't take out interruption insurance! I actually didn't have to offer you a credit based on my contract ,but I did want to do something to make up for the days you lost. As I told you the night it happened ,we do not give refunds, which it does state in my contract that you signed! Even after that I still gave money back and also a credit for you. My contract clearly states changes in result of no-show, or shortened stay, will forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. No refunds will be given for vacation interruption due to weather, illness, equipment failure, plumbing or otherwise. We will do our best to have the malfunction repaired as soon as possible. This includes hurricane evacuation. Please consider obtaining vacation interruption Insurance. It covers unexpected events that can occur. When signed by the guest and accepted by owner or his agent this agreement will constitute a binding rental agreement. Most rental places have this in there contract. Interruption insurance is very reasonably priced. I once again, told you I would do something for you. I did not say I would give you a refund! I also addressed your calls and had a service repairman sent out immediately! I also, called my property manager to buy 5 fans to at least get some air moving for you inside the upstairs. You told me I was wasting my money and that you were leaving in the morning. I even offered to buy air mattresses since you had air downstairs. You refused that as well. You mentioned that I knew I had an AC leak on Sunday. Yes after the AC guy came he determined that there must be a leak but he did not know how bad. He told me they couldn't put new AC in until Friday morning. I asked if he could put coolant in to maybe get us through till Friday. He recommended that I not do that because it is a waste of my money. Even after he said that, I instructed him to put in coolant knowing it may leak out but we had to try to get cool air if we could. I spent $600 just on coolant that night hoping it would get us through until Friday morning, but unfortunately it did not and by Monday evening it was gone. I really tried to do all I could within my means. So Friday we had a new AC installed. He said, I was lucky he even had one due to lack of supply due to covid. Supplies are very limited. He did say he could have fixed my unit but it would have cost a lot and time to get parts would have probably taken longer to do than putting in new unit. This was our best option. I'm sorry you felt the need to attack my house and the surrounding area due to the AC going out during your week. The people who stayed the week prior to you gave me great reviews and also the people that came in after you gave great reviews including how much they loved the pool area and that this area is so nice since it is not in a commercial area. As far as you saying lights were flickering is most likely due to the light dimmers I have on all my lights. All you would have had to do is turn up the dimmer. You said there were several outlets that didn't work upstairs . I've had them tested with a meter and they are all working so not sure what you were dealing with unless one of the GFI 's maybe tripped in a bathroom, but they are all working with no problems. Once again, I'm sorry the AC went out during your week and I have tried to make that up to you. I put a lot of time and personal attention to my guest to make sure there are no issues, but sometimes things will happen and I have always done my best to rectify any situation that arises to the best to my ability. You are the only bad review I have ever had and I did try my best to work with you. Most of my guest tell me we go above and beyond for them.
