Butterfly Park Retreat #1 - Centrally located to Decorah's Top Attractions!

Welcome to the quaint community of Decorah. This getaway is located steps from the local attractions including the Butterfly Park, Pulpit Rock Brewery, Landing Market, Whippy Dip, and Vesterheim Museum to name a few. The property is located near the Upper Iowa River ideal for fly fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. The Trout Run Trail is a picturesque path passing along dikes and abandoned rail beds ideal for biking, walking, and running.

Description of space:
The master bedroom includes a king bed. The second bedroom includes a queen bed. The living room includes a queen pull out sofa. Open kitchen concept is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, utensils, oils, Keurig coffee and tea. Washer and dryer located outside the unit and available for use during your stay. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, iron, and ironing board. A Pack'n Play available upon request.

Everything was great. Space was clean & comfortable. Kitchen & bathroom were complete with amenities. Only complaint was upstairs neighbors sounded heavy-footed, but that's typical in an apartment building.

Rooms were clean. We enjoyed the decor. Kitchen was well-stocked with coffee and other things. We were glad to speak with a person who was working in the building and got a map of Decorah.

Beautiful place. Very clean and updated. Snacks and water provided. Big, fluffy towels provided in the bathroom as well as any necessities you might forget to bring. Location was great - very close to many attractions. Highly recommend.

This place was fantastic! Very cozy, a snack basket on the counter, another basket in the bathroom full of things "you might have forgotten", the communication with the host was excellent. I don't have anything but good things to say.

Happy Stay

This was a very sweet place to stay, It was very clean and looked just like the pictures. we enjoyed the snacks that were left and all the coffee provided. The owner was easy to access. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well each night. it is also close to the downtown. The only recommendation I would have is to provide more washcloths. There were 4 towels but only 2 washcloths. Also appreciated the onsite Washer/Dryer and the quarters provided. It was a great stay!

Quick Decorah getaway

My family of 5 had an awesome stay at Butterfly Park Retreat #1. The location couldn't be better, we were able to bike to all the local hot spots. Property owner was easy to communicate with and the property was well equipped! I can't recommend this property enough, we will certainly be back.

Another stay at Butterfly Park

Nice place to stay. This is the third or fourth time my sister and I have stayed at this location. We have stayed at different units in the same building and each unit appears to be identical with slight differences in decorating/accessories. If you are sensitive to smells, you might have a problem with the plug in air freshener. We just unplugged it and were fine. There is only one wall air conditioner {which does a good job) for the apartment so, to get the cool air into your bedroom, you have to leave the bedroom door open. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan so air movement was not a problem.

This two-bedroom apartment was what we needed during a weekend in Decorah. Convenient location, comfortable accommodations. Only drawback was a lack of a table for meals.

Great place to stay!

We absolutely loved this rental spot. Great location and super clean. Had everything we needed and more! The multiple toiletry items in the bathroom were a nice touch and ended up being needed :) We did hear the upstairs neighbors. One night was quieter than the other, but we could hear them both nights of our stay. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone exploring Decorah.

Wonderful location! Very clean, comfortable beds and kitchen had everything we needed. Had a question and response was very quick! A little noise from upstairs neighbors but we are very light sleepers. So close to trails. Would definitely stay there again.

Don't usually write reviews but,

So, this rental was pretty much perfect. Like I said, I don't usually take the time to write reviews (unless I'm scathing mad about something) because, as a consumer, you are paying for a service and if the service was provided, well that's the done deal, right? But when you pay for a service and the service goes above and beyond to make it extraordinary for the consumer, well, then that is worth the time it takes me to write this review! Enough about my caveats, though. Pam, (the owner of this rental) has anticipated and provided everything you might need during your stay. The apartment was lovely, cozy, and comfortable. Beds are comfortable and clean, kitchen is clean and inviting. (I mean beer glasses in the freezer, I don't even do that in my own kitchen!) Seriously, every detail has been thought of. Wonderful!

My husband and I were born and raised in northeast Iowa and have raised our family in Decorah. Decorah has a strong Norwegian heritage with Nordic Fest being an annual event. Our youngest son is a Nordic Dancer. Every 5 years tryouts are held to form the junior group. The kids who are selected are in the program for 10 years. Nordic Dancers perform at various event throughout the summer with the final 5 performances during Nordic Fest. The family photo was taken after his last performance in which he was both exhausted and relieved that he was finished for the year. Our son has close family support with everyone making the trek back home to enjoy the festivities and support their younger brother.

We are the owners of 12 buildings- 92 rental units in Decorah. We believe our experience with rental properties and a cleaning crew make vacation rentals a natural fit. We have additional adjacent units available allowing larger groups to book in close proximity to one another.
