384sf Studio Cottage in North Berkeley. Quiet, private location off the street behind the main house with separate entrance. Hardwood floors with full size bed and closet, newly remodeled kitchen with microwave, gas range and mini-dishwasher, and a newly remodeled full bathroom.

Perfect North Berkeley location - 1/2 block to Ohlone Dog Park, 2 blocks to Trader Joe’s supermarket, 3 blocks to North Berkeley BART, 3 blocks to North Shattuck restaurants, and a short walk (and even shorter bike ride) to UC Berkeley. 95 WalkScore, 99 BikeScore! Ideal for short-term visits. Pet friendly - your doggo will love Ohlone Dog Park, only a half block away!

Furnished with full size bed and dining set, portable A/C, includes all utilities (gas, electric, water, sewer, garbage) and WiFi internet. Also includes exclusive access to ventless washer/dryer in adjacent accessory bldg. Minimum stay 14 days.

Street parking is 2-hour, 8am-7pm weekdays, free on weekends. We can make a parking space available to you in our driveway for $5/day.

Berkeley Cottage Stay

This is a great option for folks who want to stay in the heart of Berkeley at a reasonable price, but still have some North Berkeley neighborhood charm. Small but cozy accommodations close to everything and great if you have a dog as well (just next to the dog park).

Great place for a great price!!

This was the perfect place for my husband and I for our 2 week stay in Berkeley. We were coming for some training and did not want to stay in the hotel as we valued having a kitchen and some more space. This was actually cheaper than the hotel and way better in my opinion.

Wonderful stay.

Very private, cozy place with a neat setup which makes it feel roomier. The location can’t be beat, especially if you have a dog as it’s so close to the park. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and respectful of your privacy. I would happily book again if we’re back in the area. 10/10.

Excellent in all respects

It was a pleasure to stay here, thanks Swami! The furnishings are quite sparse but all nicely comfortable and functional, with very good facilities all around in the bathroom and the well-equipped kitchen. It is relaxingly quiet and private, and in a pleasant area. Great location for a visiting academic (as I am), with an easy walk to the university campus, lots of restaurants of all kinds nearby, and BART station. I’d be very happy to stay again on future visits!

What a quiet cozy place

We very much enjoyed our stay at Swamee’s place. Swamee and his wife where wonderful hosts, promptly delivering support where needed, directions to experience the surroundings and having interesting chats now and then. Facilities are clean and everything works as expected. It was agreat place to be and relax. Thanks a lot 🙂

The absolutely best choice

If I could give 100 stars I would. Staying here was the best choice in every way including how responsive the hosts were to requests. They went out of their way to be helpful, were respectful of my privacy and couldn't have been more cordial and friendly. Don't hesitate to book for longer durations as well. I booked for months and still everything went just perfectly. Highly recommend!

Ideal Berkeley Stay

We booked an extended stay at this charming cottage while our home was being renovated, and it turned out to be the perfect temporary home for my pregnant wife, our dog, and me. The cottage was quiet, private, and had everything we needed—fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, washer, and dryer—which made the stay incredibly comfortable and convenient. The hosts who lived in the front house were very kind and accommodating throughout our stay, always making sure we had everything we needed. The location is also fantastic, close to great restaurants and cafes. Our dog especially loved the nearby dog park, which became part of our daily routine. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during this time and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming retreat!

Just what I needed for a month's stay!

The studio cottage was perfect for my month visiting UC Berkeley. It was exactly as described, everything was functional and fresh. It was also a great find and luxury to have our own laundry. It is in a quiet area, yet about a 5 minutes walk from Trader Joes and restaurants. Easy to get around by walking, city bike, and bus. Good walking distance to the university also. Swami and Lata were very kind and accommodating; whenever I had a question they were very quick to respond and generous with their help. I would definitely recommend staying here for both the property but also the pleasant experience with the hosts!

Best North Berkeley location, lovely hosts, top amenities

Host & hostess were so gracious & friendly! It was as easy to communicate/coordinate as if staying near friends or family. Cottage is close to everyone and everything I needed back in my home neighborhood. Inside, the facilities are great to sleep & eat well (fully-equipped kitchen I used only for coffee & reheating, but it's there) and reliable wi-fi for video meetings & work. Washer-dryer a huge plus for longer stays. I'll be back!

Excellent location and hosts

This back yard cottage is perfectly located for anyone who is looking to be near downtown Berkeley, not use a car, and wants to be able to cook for themselves on occasion. I stayed there for the month of August. The hosts were responsive and communicated when needed, but were otherwise completely unobtrusive. The kitchen is well laid out with a dishwasher, new dishes, and pots/pans plus a full size range and half size refrigerator. This is an ideal set up for 1-2 people. Should you not feel like cooking, incredible food ranging from top line gourmet (Chez Panisse) to iconic pizza + beer (Jupiter) to food truck is all within easy walking distance. I never once felt the need to have a car. Shopping is also walkable with Trader Joe's three-ish blocks away and Andronico's/Safeway ~0.5 mile away. The Saturday and Thursday farmer's markets are also within 0.5 miles. For walking, exercise, and dog watching, it is one block away from the Ohlone Park/Dog Park/Greenway. Want to get into Oakland or SF? The North Berkeley BART is four blocks away. I easily walked with my large suitcase and two bags there when leaving. Easy access to AC Transit bus stops as well. For all this, the neighborhood is incredibly quiet and peaceful. Plus, there is a very friendly cat next door named Donut. I could not have picked a better spot.

MUST STAY in Berkeley!

If you or someone you know are looking for a rental VRBO in Berkeley this listing is the perfect place. The location is great with grocery stores and fantastic restaurants within a few blocks, North Berkeley BART a brief walk, and the Ohlone Greenway just one block away. The property is so clean and there are brand new appliances including dishwasher, oven, stove, microwave, and fridge. Also, you have your own laundry (washer/dryer combo) which I used so much it was amazing. I stayed here for two months and got to know the owners and their family just by passing by and they are so wonderful and welcoming! I could not give a higher appraisal for this listing it came at a time when I needed a speedy booking so I randomly clicked on this one. Turns out, it was the best place I've stayed in the Bay Area so far. The owners are very responsive if you need anything done and let you have your own space which is amazing. For example, they have a Keurig in the unit for you to use and I was having a hard time getting it to work. I messaged the owner and he came over that same day and fixed it for me. Overall, I give this listing a 5/5 as it included all of the basics I needed plus laundry, dishwasher, cleanliness, privacy, accommodations for me and my dog, and very nice owners. I'm for sure going to recommend it to anyone I know who needs a quick rental booking in Berkeley. I'd book fast because this place will go fast whenever available!
