Welcome to Bear Cub Cottage--our thoughtfully updated cottage just a 2-minute walk to Leavitt Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee. This comfortable, well-maintained retreat blends modern conveniences with classic lake cottage charm.

Our home was recently renovated and is carefully maintained to ensure a comfortable stay:

EASY BEACH ACCESS WITH NO PARKING PERMIT REQUIRED

Most Meredith beaches require a resident parking permit, but you do not need one here.

* Leavitt Beach is just a two-minute walk away

PADDLE OUT WHEN CONDITIONS ALLOW

When water levels are high, guests may use the onsite canoe or bring their own kayak and paddle from the property through the water inlet to Lake Winnipesaukee.

Please note: Water levels vary throughout the season, so this feature cannot be guaranteed.

PET-FRIENDLY WITH PRIOR APPROVAL

We welcome one well-behaved dog per booking.

BOOKING REQUIREMENTS

To help ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay for everyone, guests will be asked to:

* Provide a refundable security deposit hold

The deposit is a hold, not a charge, and is released after checkout. This helps ensure our home is respected and well cared for during your stay.

We understand plans can change and recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations or travel disruptions.

Guests will receive a digital welcome booklet approximately one week prior to arrival with helpful details for their stay, but we are always happy to answer questions and offer local recommendations!

Our family had a great stay at the cottage! We stayed for a week and found that the house had everything we needed! It was super cute and had comfortable beds- we enjoyed the location (so close to the beach!) and the fire pit. Sarah was very communicative and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

My husband and I and our dog enjoyed our stay very much! The cottage was so clean with plenty of room for us. Very well stocked with kitchen items for those who want to cook a meal in. Location was perfect. Walking distance to the local beach. Close to a wonderful farmer’s market and the town of Meredith. Overall, a very cute and comfortable cottage! Don’t hesitate to rent this cottage! You won’t be disappointed!

Quick Getaway

Everything was perfect! Clean, comfortable beds, all necessary essentials were there! Perfect location! Easy walk to the lake! Bonus we got to make s’mores at the firepit!!check in easy! Easy to get in touch with owners! I would highly recommend staying here! They allowed my German shepherd which was a huge plus!! I will definitely be going back if I’m able to get a date! It books up fast because it’s so good!!

Family vacation

Sarah and John are excellent hosts. The house was clean, comfortable and so nicely furnished. We had 7 adults and plenty of space. It was good to have the laundry onsite too. We had to contact Sarah and John right away about a small appliance issue and their response, and timely fix was so appreciated. They were very generous. The location to the beach could only have been better if the house was lakefront. It was a short, easy walk. The beach is clean and the water was wonderful. Our dog learned to love the water! Thanks for a wonderful vacation!!
