It was a cute little cabin. Very small not made for a lot of people. We had 4 adults and not a lot of room to sit while relaxing to watch the tv. The downstairs bedroom was nice and very comfortable bed. No bathroom upstairs and I think just way too many beds upstairs. It felt very cramped. It did smell of old wood when you first came in but that’s just an old cabin for you. It worked for the weekend but not sure I would stay here again.

The property was delightful and as described on VRBO. Would have been helpful to know both bathrooms were on the lower floor. 12 yr old would have liked to have had one TV upstairs. Owner was terrified and soo easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I needed to get away from reality for a few days, and this property was perfect. We watched gently falling leaves from the porch, and I fell in love with the rockers. The property was very spacious for the two of us, and we had a lovely 3-night-stay. We highly recommend this property!

Cozy, peaceful cabin

The cabin was a perfect base while we moved our daughter into her dorm. Quiet, peaceful setting and only 10-15 minutes to campus. Plenty of beds. It was perfect for the 3 of us. Family spaces would have been a little tight if we had had all 5 of us.

Rustic cabin by a babbling brook, what can be nicer in the quiet mountains!All good, but my only beef is that the upstairs is not height suitable for a 6’5” guy.Oh, and yes, a bear attacked the outside garbage can the last night we were there, fortunately we had kept all the garbage inside as per instructions.

Bring additional light and watch your step!

So, if you enjoy a musty-smelling, damp-aired, outdated Jed Clampett home-where every corner creaks louder than Granny's rocking chair and the decor hasn't changed since oil was struck in the backyard-then this is the place for you! And that faint scent of mildew? Well, that's just the house's way of saying it's lived a full life. Ideal for anyone who loves vintage... or has a strong tolerance for questionable air quality! No seriously, I chose this house based off the wonderful reviews. But I felt like I was back in my granny’s house. Besides the kitchen, everything in this house needs updating, but that’s my opinion. Some ppl like reliving the 50’s. There are 2 other reviews that mentioned the outdoor lighting, one submitted over a year ago in 2023. Apparently the owners haven’t addressed the lighting. There is 1 light all the way at the end of the front porch that doesn’t nearly serve adequately. We wanted to enjoy the crisp night air on the porch and unless you want to sit in the pitch darkness with all the mountain critters, or light a candle, you’re out of luck. This is also a hazardous condition. We had to leave the car running with lights on to see our way into the house and the rocks at the back door are uneven and dangerous in the dark. I’m sorry, but this house wasn’t my cup of tea. Nevertheless, thank you for hosting us.

Good location

Will come again. For safety returning at night, needs better outdoor lighting at door or solar lights. Don’t trip over the rocks! Had a great time!

Mountain Getaway

The cabin was exactly as we expected. It was nice to have room for our young family of four. The patio and outdoor area was great! Our 22 month old loved pushing his dump truck in circles around the cabin! It is a lot traveling with two under two, and the third night free made the trip just a little bit longer and all the packing/unloading/adjusting worth it!

Great little cabin!

This is our second time staying at this property. It is so cozy and cute, just as pictured! Vanessa was very helpful with any questions we had. It is in a great location close to Boone, App State and Grandfather Mountain. I highly reccommend this property.
