Nice and romantic cottage with a cozy feel to it. Access is simple and streamlined, amenities are more than accommodating, the shower and bed were amazing, and the entertainment center is a nice bonus even though we were just rolling through for the night. Would highly recommend for any small party.

Various shopping and restaurants near by “The Hummingbird.”Clean inside and out, bed is super cozy and comfy. Don’t let the surroundings or satellite map picture of location discourage you. It’s a quiet neighborhood. Host is responsive.

Little gem

This one bedroom home is centered in the middle of town. Neighborhood is a little run down but home is cute, clean and safe. Check in was super easy and owner was communicative and very responsive!

Close to everything!

This property is just off Main St., close to a number of shops and restaurants. The projection tv and rain shower head were definite pluses! Communication with the property management was thorough and prompt. They were a pleasure to work with!

Cute little house close to everything we were doing in Joplin. It is interesting that there are light blocking shades in the living room, but not in the bedroom. When we got there at 3 (the published check in time) the cleaner was still there cleaning. She came out and let me know she would be another 10 minutes. I said OK because what else can I do? I wasn't going to raise a stink, I would just wait. I messaged the owner and asked what they planned to do to make things right about the late check in (either late checkout the next day, or a 25 credit because that is what they charge if the customer checks out 15 minutes late). If they had just responded to apologize and offer some compensation they would have gotten five stars. But they didn't. They did apologize but their response also implied that it was my fault because I had agreed to wait for the cleaner to finish and because I had not let them know when I would be arriving. If they had just owned up to their mistake without blaming me they would have gotten a five star rating. But the house itself was wonderful.

Thank you for your honest review. We did not intend to shift blame in any way and recognize where our response failed in this situation. We will work to better our communication. To clarify, our $25 fee is for guests who fail to communicate they are going to check out late. A pre-arranged late check out is only $10 per hour. Also, we very much appreciate the feedback for the curtains in the bedroom.

Stayed here while on our way to Arkansas. Perfect midway point on our travels. Communication was great! Property very clean! Fairly quiet neighborhood.

The configuration of the house was just weird. Bathroom on one side bedroom on the other side with washer/dryer in the closet.

I wAs very comfy. My DIL slept on the pull out couch. Was hard as a rock. Maybe a matress topper in the cliset for the next guest. Price wA good and place was clean

Cozy and welcoming

Host really does care about your stay there and is receptive to all needs even left coffee in there. The bohemian feel. Made me feel right at home. Very cozy and spacious. 10/10 will book again

Totally worth it!

The place is small, but cute. The surround sound and projector screen made for a fun night of binge watching Netflix. Would definitely rent again.

Honeymoon couples getaway

My fiancé (now husband) and I were looking for somewhere close to home to get away after our wedding and found The Hummingbird. It is gorgeous inside and out, clean and well thought out. Communication with the host was easy. Amenities were close by, we enjoyed Main Street axe which is 3 minutes away. The projector and couch was awesome! I would book again if we ever have the chance to!

Movie Time

Just a quick stop during a girls' week because we wanted some movie time, and this cute little place was exactly what we needed. We were a little slow on the uptake with the theater equipment set up (and couldn't locate any instructions), but the host was very responsive and got us up and running, and we had a great time. We weren't there long enough to really judge nearby activities, but it had easy access to major streets with a variety of restaurants within a short drive. My friend and I are in the area a few times a year, and would gladly book again for another movie break.

Amazing stay.

I booked this place to have a weekend getaway for my girlfriend and I. The pictures looked really nice, and my girlfriend is a hypochondria person. So cleanliness is something she looks at. As we got in she looked around and to my surprise she loved it. Specially since there was a washer and dryer... Lol. We enjoyed every minute of it. We had great rest, and my girlfriend Loved it very much. You have an amazing place. I'm honored to have stayed there, and get a much needed rest for the both of us.. 😉
