Celebrate Spring! Beautiful, custom Kerr Lake lodge home + private dock.

Enjoy dinner and a glass of something refreshing on the private dock while the light transforms the water at dusk. Look for Bald Eagles -- often in the trees on our end of the lake. They are magical.

Get away from it all in this custom-built, gorgeous, secluded lake house just 45 minutes north of Durham, NC! Beautifully decorated and spacious 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom house to entertain your friends and family; well-appointed kitchen and an outdoor gas grill to enjoy preparing meals for indoor or outdoor dining.

Outdoor spaces include a front porch with rockers and swing, a rear screened porch, a patio with cafe seating and umbrella, an outdoor dining table with umbrella, and a pergola patio with cushioned rockers.

Head out for kayaking/paddle boarding, fishing, playing in the water, or simply enjoy the dock. The property is located on a super safe, quiet finger of the lake with beautiful views, but few boaters, which means the dock is calm and delightful. There is a dock ladder and bench that allows for easy lake access, perfect for swimming and launching paddle boards and floats.

Launch your own boat or jet ski at the nearby & easily accessible Nutbush Bridge Road (south public boat launch) within view from our dock, then dock your watercraft at our property. Or, use the kayaks and paddle boards conveniently stored at our dock. We are located south of Nutbush Bridge Road, which is flat water for easy paddling. (NOTE: You can't access the large part of the lake from our dock because Nutbush Bridge is too low for boats to go under. A jet ski can get under the bridge).

Peaceful retreat on Lake Kerr

We had a wonderful time at Stacie and Andy's beautiful lake house. The house was perfect for our family trip which included 13 people (and a wide range of ages from babies to grandparents). The huge kitchen and variety of community spaces (great room, den/tv room, screened porch, patio) provided plenty of space for our large group. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare and serve meals for a crowd. The setting is very private and this section of the lake is quiet with few boaters/jet skis over the course of the entire week. The water was too high to go under the Nutbush Bridge into the main lake but there are ramps to both the north and south sides of Nutbush Bridge Road. We spent most of our time enjoying the lake from the beautiful dock. We brought our own boat but also used their paddleboards and kayaks. Swimming was great with easy access into and out of the water with the ladder and a bench off the dock. We found a lot to do in the area - we rented a pontoon from Kerr Adventures (excellent experience), Raleigh Outdoor Theatre (so fun!), and Marbles Children Museum in Raleigh (worth the trip!). We had a wonderful week and highly recommend this beautiful property. Stacie and Andy were very helpful both before and during our stay. We hope to come again!

Great house on a beautiful and quiet lake

We had a wonderful time here (family vacation-3 generations-14 people) but it didn't hurt that the Lord God gave us fantastic weather. This house is BEAUTIFUL with cathedral ceiling in the living room, gorgeous wooden beams, doors, window casings, floor, etc. They have a very inviting sunken living room with 3 couches and other seating looking out the picture window at the lake. The kitchen (very large and open to the LR and DR) has a double copper sink that matches the DR table and several end tables. The whole house is well stocked but especially the kitchen with several sets of plates, lots of appliances, etc. There are many different games (adult and kids), children books, and even some stuffed animals, all is a wonderful room in which we put down 5 children! We liked the fact that the TV was in a separate (and nice), spacious room so it did not dominate conversations. All this sits on a very large but quiet lake with almost no motor boats (or even people). They have a lovely, large dock that goes out into at least 12 feet depth of warm fresh water. It even has a roof so you can sit (patio table and chairs are on the dock) or swim in the shade if you prefer. They have 3 kayaks and 2 paddle boards for use plus lots of life jackets, 'noodles', cushions, etc. We could not have asked for more!

Beautiful home but does not have boat access to main lake, jet skis only if the water is low enough

We had a nice time, the house has a nice setup with plenty of beds, bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, tons of pillows, blankets, towels. We were a bit dissapointed that the house was so warm upon arrival, it took until the next morning before we were comfortable with the temperature. If you have infants or toddlers I reccomend bringing fans to keep them cool in the summer on the first day & night until the entire house cools down. The dock is super nice, it has covered areas for some shade and a drop down bench to sit right at water level! The bushes on the patio and at the dock were very overgrown and blocking pathways, it would have been nice if they were cut back before we arrived. We were very dissapointed that the bridge at this cove is not tall enough for boats to pass under. You have to load and unload your boat at the opposite boat ramp if you want to access the main part of Kerr lake. This was a huge bummer for us as we hauled two boats out for this trip for all day fishing. The cove is nice and quiet but gets boring for our kind of group and should have been disclosed somewhere on the VRBO listing.

Fantastic
again!

We stayed here last year and couldn’t wait to return the house is amazing, each bedroom is spacious and comfy, the kitchen is large and well stocked and the floating dock is stupendous! The kids (and adults) spent hours swimming and jumping.

Getaway

We had a great time at Stacie's house! We loved spending time on the dock and enjoyed staying inside too to escape the heat. The house is very spacious which is nice if you like some privacy. We'll be back!!!

Amazing House and property

The house was amazing every square inch was absolutely beautiful and awesome and the pictures do not tell the whole story you have to see it for yourself. The privacy was a huge plus for us especially the private dock we stayed 4 days and 3 nights and we all enjoyed every minute of it. Everything you need is on site just pack a bag and show up the owners were really great with communicating with me prior to checking in and while we there if any problem or issues came up we will definitely be making this our number one choice to stay when we need another lake getaway

Amazing Stay

The house is amazing, it is exactly as it pictures. We had three couples with kids and everyone had enough space and privacy. Would love to stay again if we go back to this area. Hosts are very responsive to any questions we had.

Property is very nice as is the home, very scenic; the one draw-back of the home is the weak internet access which limits our ability to stay and work virtually. The town of Henderson was not to our liking and falls short of options and things to do.

Calm, Beautiful, Relaxing

You will not be disappointed! AMAZING! This was a time to get (most of) our children together with their spouses, us and Grandma. The hosts were so helpful and provided everything we could possibly need. We love that we did not have to bring linens. Everything was there for us - even lake/beach towels (although, we never saw them until we were packing up to leave). The home is exquisitely decorated, the beds were very comfortable (and plentiful), and the kitchen could not have been better stocked. There were so many quiet spots in the home to enjoy a good book in. Internet was not great, but that was not what we were there for, so it was not an issue for us. There is one tv in the home, so keep that in mind. It worked for us, as Grandma was the only one who wanted to watch tv anyway. Outside, we loved the dock. It is where we spent our days either reading or on the water. The water is like glass and had almost no boat traffic. We brought our jet skis and used them every day. There were a couple of spots on this part of the lake that were very shallow, so be careful on a jet ski or boat. We did get caught in mud once, only because we weren't paying attention to our depth finder on our skis. Twice we travelled beyond the Nutbush bridge to the "big" side of the lake. It is gorgeous as well. The available paddle boards were so nice to explore the coves. Everything was incredible. We will be back for sure!

Very Relaxing Getaway

We booked this property at the last minute for a quick getaway. The owners were vary responsive right from the beginning. The house is beautiful and in a very peaceful setting! It has everything you need for a relaxing stay.

FANTASTIC!

This home was by far the best VRBO home we have ever stayed in! The description is 100 % accurate. The home is big with very large bedrooms and a great living space. The kitchen had more than enough plates and mugs and wine glasses! Every small appliance possible was there and in working order. The screen porch and fire ring were nice spaces to hang out. Now for the lake and dock - the water was very deep so the kids wore life jackets and had SO MUCH FUN jumping and diving. The dock has a great ladder and also lower level that makes it easy to get in on the supplied paddle boards and kayaks. There is a roof and umbrella on the table so plenty of shade is available. The abundance of extra floats and life jackets was a bonus! All in all, an awesome trip and we’ll be sure to be back! Also, there were a lot of extra nice touches by the owners to welcome their guests:)

Awesome Rental by the lake

We highly recommend this rental lake property. Owners were quick with responses to all our questions before and during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and it's seclusion in the trees. The home is very tastefully decorated and we didn't need anything. Many items were cruelty free and we are vegan so that is an added plus! The kitchen has beyond what any home chef desires and more. There's one TV which we hooked up our Roku but honestly spent most of our time at the lake, talking and playing games (many to choose from). The WiFi is ok and I hooked up a CAT6 for work. The bedrooms are so beautifully decorated and has that cozy comfy feeling. We recommend you fully read the guest book as the music over the home speakers via your phone was so awesome and connected to indoor and outdoor speakers - what a treat and created an even better experience. The short walk down to the dock was nice and appreciate the chairs and table for sitting and eating. The chair cushions were located in the dock box and easy to pull out and put back when we left. The view of the lake at sunrise was stunning and so very relaxing. There's a latter for swimming too. We didn't utilize the kayaks or paddle boards but are available. We used Instacart and Door Dash and added that GPS goes beyond the house but to look for the house number sign on the right and it worked fine. We will definitely be renting this property again! Thanks Stacie for a much needed restful time for my family.

Perfection on the lake

As the first guests at this property we didn't know exactly what to expect, but this one blew us away! The location is private and secluded but within a quick 10 minute drive to anything you could need in Henderson. Not that you'll need to go to town for much because the extremely responsive hosts thought of everything you could possibly need to have a great time by the lake! The house itself is truly wonderful - you can tell a lot of care went into designing, building, and maintaining it and each room is special in its own way. The kids room was a real hit for my four nieces and nephews and we had more than enough space in the other four large bedrooms for the adults. The outdoor spaces are lovely as well from the large front porch to the well furnished screened deck and stone patios. Don't forget the large second floor deck overlooking the lake from the upstairs master bedroom! The real magic happened down at the water where the large, covered dock provided hours of fun for our whole family. The water was surprisingly warm and more than deep enough for intense cannonball competitions! We also made good use of the available paddle boards and kayaks to explore the shorelines. The table & chairs made it easy to eat lunch by the water & jump right back in. With very few other properties in the area and low boat traffic it felt like a private lakefront just for our family. We would love to come back again...and if you are thinking about booking this one - don't wait, just do it!

This part of Kerr Lake is incredibly peaceful and secluded-feeling that it is truly a special retreat. I enjoy sharing this experience with those who are seeking a "get-a-way" for some meaningful time with friends and family.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

Most of the surrounding property is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers, meaning that there are very few houses, which adds to the feeling of seclusion. This house is also south of a bridge under which big boats cannot travel, which makes this part of the lake serene and perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. There is a boat launch within sight, however, if you want to bring a watercraft and dock at our dock.

The home was custom built and decorated by an architect/designer for her family, and we are the second owners. Her attention to every construction detail is evident throughout this incredibly well-built and lovely home. We added the dock last year, which is perfect for swimming, water sports, dining, and catching some rays. We DO have a roof on part of the dock for shade seekers as well.
