The Flying Honu is located in the heart of Kona three blocks from the Ironman starting line. Built on the fragrant pathway from the mountain to the sea (Mauka to Makai ) it is a great example of Hawaiian single wall construction. Open floor plan with large windows to let the ocean and mountain breezes inn. Large master bedroom with ceiling fan. The lanai sleeping area has two full size beds . We provide everything you will need for your day at the beach mask, snorkels, fins, beach chairs, boogie boards .

We had a great stay! Unit is in a great location and within walking distance of many restaurants and stores. Overall experience while staying was relaxed and restful, we would definitely book again.

This is a totally comfortable apartment on the same property as the owners house. There's one bedroom with a queen bed and two double beds on a screened in porch. Everything is a bit on the worn and comfortable side. It's a great location, has a little kitchen and plenty of space. We would definitely stay again in Kona.

Great stay in the middle of town, easy walk to the ocean. Quick drive to multiple world class snorkeling sites. We loved sleeping on the lanai.

Cozy and fun layout. Old school Ohana type cabin setting close to downtown and easy access. Would totally book again!

Bugs on the bed, pillows, dust layers on the ceiling fan, blinds not able to be closed all the way, chairs at/in kitchen/dining ripped on the seats, old, nasty, over-used. Dark inside, needs a refresher and a deep cleaning and could be much more welcoming and enjoyable. Supplied shampoo, conditioner, bathroom ok, water continuously dripped from faucet. Did not use washer or dryer. Parking under where we stayed.Neighborhood had a lot of garbage and broken down vehicles in lots nearby and viewable from windows. Close to the water, shopping and restaurants. Very easy to hear everything going on outside, Dark inside. Decent sitting area on outside porch.

No comment as we had to cancel. Host communicated
. Until two days before when we were unsure about time of arrival. Daughter get sick and we had to cancel. I’ll be getting insurance next time
. For another place to rent! I visit 1-2 times a year and family lives in Paauillo

It was lovely, clean, beautiful view of the water, very safe, free parking, a wonderful place to wine down and relax, great coffee and comfortable beds, and lots of fresh air, I would recommend coming here and unwinding from city life. They even have everything you need to go to the beach or surfing, we where greet and welcomed by the owner with smile and open arms, that made us feel right at home, thank you, I will be coming and recommend this place to all our friends and family.

Beautiful surroundings

Quiet little place with a beautiful garden. Very close to a white clean sand beach. The owners are very nice and helpful with things to do. The place was very nice and clean. I would recommend a stay here
