Very kind of guests to credit us for their enjoyment of CKBH. This is largely because the guest has come prepared to make the most of their stay. There is much left to do as we recover from last Fall’s storms. New screened-in areas, deck resurfacing, new windows, gutters, soffits, new flower gardens, & and a 36’ deep seawall r all scheduled. Our wider deeper beach is in full view now from every room.

Thx for the kind words. Their brevity reveals a covetousness that most guests share: quiet praise that won’t ignite a gold rush on our property. We host very few guests each year, beyond family, friends, local service organization’s employees, who must usually endure 12-18 month advance bookings. This family did what over 90 percent do, in booking their next year’s return before departing CKBH. We look forward to their return.

Always a pleasure to have guests that prepare for the best in their experiences. CKBH offers much, but requires a willing guest to enjoy it. Thx to the Marshalls for making us proud.

What we see is what we get. I enjoyed meeting this guest, as all concerns of guests are valid to us. That said, I’ll address each expressed above. 1. The “griddle” referred to was cleaned and oiled, ready for use. We only use a griddle at the beach because the fire never touches the food, avoiding rust and leftover grease from joining your meal. Cleaning of the iron griddle is a scrape and oil process; easy, and something we leave to guests. We r not a hotel. All outdoor Eqpt suffers from salt water exposure, since the house is on the beach. 2. Not all guests alert us to changes in the pool water. It rained heavily the day before this guest arrived. I treated the pool water the day of arrival, before guests showed, which cleared the water in the following 2 days. Importantly, the pool water was clean and perfectly balanced. Heating costs are clearly detailed in the Guest Agreement. There was no charge to this guest for pool heating. 3. Only (1) remote is ncsy to use the TV. A 2nd remote works the DVD player; though very few guests use DVD videos. 4. Not clear abt this concern. There is a glass table and chairs set on the pool deck, other chairs and (5) chaises on the pool/and beach decks. 6. The 5-6 stones one might encounter at the water’s edge r lg, flat and smooth—very easy to manage safely. As the beach sand level rises on our barrier island, the stones disappear. It’s winter in Florida in February, so the Gulf is often cool. That said, the week after this guest departed, day temps were in the 80’s, and Gulf swimming more comfortable. Reviews r helpful; no less than to consider adding guests’ suggestions to our list of improvements—a continuous effort.

This is why we open our home to 6-8 guests yearly. Very few would enjoy this private beachfront enclave as we do. Like a great book; the reader reads what the writer writes. CKBH is more than words on a page. We hope to see u again.

An interesting perspective to be sure. What you see is what you get. This guest could see no good in his experience. Lovely family, in laws too, but this gentleman found fault in our not policing thousands of dead fish from our 800 foot beach. The irony: he inquired of another stay at CKBH. Sadly, he was not welcomed back. Check our reviews. Only his, among over 2,000 guests in 12 years, is negative.

As usual, we see what we want to see. Our privilege is in knowing well the hospitality that encourages, and finds the guests that come prepared to enjoy their experience. Its a great working model.

We count as value the experience of appreciative guests and constructive criticism. Kathi n friends were delightful new friends. We welcome their return.

Thx for the frank note. We installed a new, more powerful HVAC unit on 12.27.20, which should keep the house cool in the hottest weather, though no AC unit will cool adequately above 98*. During ur stay the heat index ranged bet. 106 and 111*. As to the beach, barrier islands grow and shrink according to the weather and its affects on the sea, which gives and takes away the sand. We r rebuilding the deck for convenience, but it won’t change the beach width; still about 100’ at low tide, but a north-south length of over 100 yds. We look forward to ur return and a wider beach, as nature allows.

We open our vacation home to very few guests each year. I could explain our motivation for doing so. This review says it best. 95% of our guests are new friends that return year after year.

It is always pleasing to discover the joy in one's circumstances. Those who do usually credit others, but it is they who deserve it. We find what we are looking for. Expectant hearts are the measure of it. Thanks much to Kelly and family for making the most of their vacation on lovely Casey Key, and for revealing the hospitality of the house. Our purpose in opening our home to guests is revealed in this review. Everything we have is a gift that is meant to be shared. We delight in those that see this magical slice of paradise as the gift it is to any that would visit it. We are excited to welcome this family's return to CKBH.

This guest's review is aptly stated, gracious in its compliments, frank in its recommendation of improvements. The beds are not much slept in, but are not new, as most everything else in the house. We agree w/ the guest that a good night's rest is no less than any deserves. Though no other has commented on the comfort of our mattresses we have placed an order for the two king beds noted above, which will be replaced as soon as the mattress company can get them to the house. We are always grateful to learn from guests the things that might improve their enjoyment of Casey Key Beach House.
