The host was very welcoming and responsive. The checkin/out information was very clear. The place was beautiful and perfect for our needs (holiday gathering for extended family ages 4 to 77). The rooms were lovely and comfortable. There were many things to do both in- and outdoors. The house was thoughtfully stocked. Overall a wonderful stay! Would recommend and would love to stay again.

My family throughly enjoyed staying at the castle! The home was clean upon arrival and the beds were comfy. Having a crib, and high chair for our youngsters was a great addition. Would have loved it even more if baby gates were added. The stairs are not toddler friendly. Also, the family room area rug was a little annoying due to it shedding a lot and not stable to the floor. My sister slipped on it and broke three toes ugh! I would recommend changing that rug. I would for sure recommend this home to family and friends! Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor areas!!

Family reunion

Wonderful getaway location for our family to celebrate Grandpa’s 90th birthday. Had 10 adults couples and 11 adult cousins. Sufficient rooms and bathrooms to accommodate all of us. The best part was the family room and Great/dining room. Loved having a place where 3 generations were able to hear grandpa share the family history. Heated pool, hot tub and sauna was awesome. We had a few days of rain but that didn’t stop them from taking use. The grill ran out of propane, but with just a text the property manager dropped of a new tank with a few hours. Place was clean and plenty of towels. Beds were pretty comfortable as well. All in all a great get away. Thanks for the memories.

Enjoyable Experience

The place was very nice. I mean we really only spent time outside grilling, swimming, playing games, burning a fire in the fire pit The seclusion allows for you to play music and have fun without any worries of being too loud or bothering neighbors Overall great and pleasant experience and I would visit again

Extended Family Vacation

The home was perfect for our large group. It never felt crowded and everyone had a seat at a table for dinner! The outdoor activities and game room were perfect for the kids and teens. The adults also enjoyed the pool, hot tub and firepit. We expected mosquitos at night, but we were pleasantly surprised that we never noticed any. The beds were comfortable. Location is close to everything, yet with the woods surrounding the house, it felt very private. Easy communication with the local contact. Thank you sincerely for the memories made.

My 46th birthday weekend

My family enjoyed our stay the castle. The kids really enjoyed the game room & fire pit. The dining room was great for our buffet style catering set up. I do recommend installing reverse flow ceiling fans in the dining room. The ceiling is so high that it took a whole day to the room to 70 degree.the rug in tv room needs a rug pad underneath it. It moved a lot & caused people to slip. Oth

While the house was large and unusual in many ways, several things made our stay less than we had hoped for. The house itself is in need of upkeep, especially outside. The patio, outdoor furniture, and paint are all old and not well cared for. On the inside, I think the property manager needs to take a good look at the cleaning crew. The kitchen floor may have been washed, but it wasn't rinsed. It was sticky and we had to wipe it down with water and dry it so we could walk on it without our shoes sticking. Same thing for the two large tables in the dining room. They were sticky and we had to wipe them down before we could use them. The master bedroom had dead lady bugs in the carpeting and several pieces of what looked like wood. All the seats in the familyroom were hard as rocks. No padding at all. It made watching the football game as a family very uncomfortable. When we arrived, the dryer was packed with towels and sheets (at least two full beds of sheets and four or five towels. They were still damp. I dried them and folded them so that we could use the washer & dryer if we needed to. We also washed & dried some towels and sheets on the morning we checked out. The kitchen had only 11 dinner plates. For a house that sleeps so many (we had 9 in our party), there were not enough dishes. Only 4 wine glasses were in the kitchen. No glasses at all in the bar area. We've rented homes in this area in the past and were pleased with the accommodations. Not this one.

Rare find at this size but communication was lacking

We enjoyed this house and location, and it accommodated our group size really well. There were nice items for getting started in the kitchen, plenty of dishware, counter appliances. There were plenty of clean and neat bed for our group of 21. Unfortunately, our stay was impacted by non-functioning dishwashers (both!) Upon arrival, one had left a puddle - we were instructed not to use it, only to find out the other one didn't work either. The communication about this and other items went from active to none half-way through our stay. Though indicated, no one came to fix the dishwasher. We understand there are issues at times, but the lack of communication - even after we ended our stay and despite numerous private inquiries to connect - was a big disappointment.

It really bothers me to write this review. Unfortunately, I have to rate this stay as just okay leaning more towards poor. Our first night was really rough. The house was so cold. Every room, every bathroom it was freezing. I had my Mom, Dad, Aunt and Uncle with me who were all over the age of 80 and it was not a great night for them. Yes, the weather changed but there should've been some type of preparations made prior to our arrival. We googled the 10 day forecast and wore clothing suitable for the weather. The property manager was just coming to the house when we got there to turn on the heat. The Fireplace did not work, the property manager tried to fix it while we were settling in the house and gave up and said he will return the next day and never showed up. Thankfully, the heat came up late the next morning. Then, the heat went out again on Sunday night. It got so cold that one family of 6 left at 2am, another family left at 5am. It was not the greatest experience. The Air Conditioners were still in the windows blowing cold air through the windows. I put towels to the windows to attempt to block the air.In the game room none of the games worked because the electeical sockets weren't working, soooo, no games for the kids. The Jacuzzi never got hot because it was just started when we got there. The Sauna never got hot. The kitchen was the highlight of the house, it had everything you need to prepare a great family meal. The backyard was a fun place for the kids.
