Great location, easy walk to beach, shopping & dining

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is situated in a perfect location on the more quiet end of the island. Sits just above the donut shop which was great for getting our donut fix but you can definitely hear the early risers coming to get their donuts. It was easy to walk everywhere or catch the trolley. The pool was a bit cool for us so we didn't get in but we did walk down to the beach quite frequently. House has the standard items, you will need to bring any spices, storage containers & laundry detergent if you need it. I am sure this rental stays quite busy but could use some updates to the kitchen, master bathroom and living room sofa, as it is showing the use. The AC in the living area was great but all of the bedrooms run hot, they did have box fans in the closet. The only way to access the unit is a staircase, keep that in mind should you have anyone that cannot easily get up and down. And there is only one parking spot but we were able to find overnight public parking 1 block away.

We have vacationed in Anna Maria island for many years and have stayed in have a dozen homes and this one I will call the “I gave up home”. The house needs a good cleaning, new bedding at least in the master bedroom that is not full of stains, needs blinds in the bedrooms, fix door handles, shower knobs don’t work as they should, the master shower floor has a patch work that looks nasty. The backyard is full a debris, the pool was dirty and was never cleaned during our stay after we were told they would.

Hello Andrea, We are very saddened to read that you felt you had a two-star review stay at our Seashell. As we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review, we believe that some of your comments are unfair. We would have liked to be contacted during your stay so we could address your concerns and make your stay more comfortable. If you felt something was lacking in the cleaning, we would have been happy to send a cleaner back over and take care of an issue that might have been missed but our company was never contacted. The blinds have been ordered for the bedroom and a new blanket so thank you for bringing this to our attention. After inspection we did not find any door handles that needed repair. The pool was cleaned the morning of your arrival and is cleaned professionally once a week. Since your stay was only four nights, it would make sense that it was not cleaned again during your stay. Kidnly, FDR Team

Wondeful Location!!

This was a beautiful place to stay. The pool was a hit and a nice break from the beach. A major perk is the donut and coffee shop below and the restaurant below. Super convenient for breakfast and meals. It can be a bit loud with the coffee shop door opening and closing in the mornings of you sleep in the front bedroom but we did not mind. It didnt wake the kids up...i am just a light sleeper. Great size apartment/condo for 4 adults and 2 kids! Would definitely stay here again!!

A+

Absolutely awesome in every way, location, cleanliness, spacious rooms, and cuteness, very beachy! 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, just perfect for a group of girls getting ready for a wedding. The master bath, back deck, and pool were great for photo's. Just 1-1.5 blocks from the beach access, within walking distance(and I am 70!) of shops, restaurants, and immediately over a great donut/coffee shop! Front and back balconies with a lovely pool and lounge chairs. There was even a wagon to cart your beach stuff! Couldn't have imagined my first trip to Anna Maria Island being any better!!

Relaxing

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home was well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. We were able to cook meals in and have everything we needed in the kitchen. The pool area was great and felt worlds away from what was going on out on the street. Two porches and the pool deck gave us lots of outdoor space to be outside yet not altogether. The short walk to the beach was just right. The trolley stop just out front was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Lots of steps

The apartment itself was nice. Finding it however, took some time. There’s only one designated parking spot and it’s in front of a restaurant. We had to ask people to move their cars or golf carts from the spot every single time we came back to the house. We found parking for the other cars across the street but we had to wait for people to leave and stand in the spot! Super inconvenient. Also the entrance is down an alley by the restaurants smelly dumpsters!!! Then moving in means you have to drag coolers, suitcases and groceries up 17 steps on the staircase. The house has a great location once you get passed all of that.

VrboOwner a répondu le 22 juill. 2025

Hello Kristi, Thank you for being our guest in Seashell. We apologize that there was trash to walk by after parking. As you mentioned, this is a wonderful location because it is so close to the beach and all the fun stores and restaurants that Pine Ave has too over! Unfortunately, that also means commercial parking and trash, and June is one of the busiest months of the summer so there is extra traffic on the island. It is in the description twice that there is one designated parking spot and it is clear that you would have to use the stairs to get up to the unit by the photos. We understand that stairs can be difficult for some guests, so we kindly suggest that for future bookings you confirm access to the property before booking. Seashell is a favorite to most who stay there, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed the home and its amenities. Sunny Regards, FDR team

Pool is not cleaned enough!

While the rental team will say it’s clean every week, the point is, the pool needs cleaning every 2/3 days, because of the way it was installed and landscaping, the children would not use it until it was cleaned, 5 days no pool

Séjour de 7 nuits en octobre 2022

VrboOwner a répondu le 13 sept. 2023

Hi Rodney, Thank you for being our guest in Seashell. Please understand as we explained during your stay. The owner pays a pool service to clean the pool once a week, it would not be possible to have someone clean it every two or three days to remove items as they drop into the pool. We do provide a net so they guest can quickly remove these items in-between the pools professionally cleaning. If you did not swim in the pool, this was of course your choice but certainly not necessary. Kindly, FDR Team

Clean, no car necessary!

The place itself was very clean inside and stocked with bath and beach towels. We were able to walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants easily. Of note, the walkway to the property is lined with dumpsters from nearby restaurants, so there was an odor when sitting outside on the porches. We also saw rats along the fence going to and from dumpsters, but none close to the house or inside! Bring bug spray for early mornings and evenings! The main TV only worked for basic cable. We watched from Netflix in the bedroom. The beach chairs are rusted and non-functional, but we were in the water most of the time anyways.

VrboOwner a répondu le 13 sept. 2023

Hi Melissa, Thank you for staying with us at Seashell. A wonderful quality about this unit is its location. We do provide a chain that can be placed across the parking spot when you are not using it to avoid your spot being taken but asking for a cone from the golf cart company is also a good idea. Unfortunately, tree rats are all over the island as this is their home and we are visitors. If they start to intrude in guests' space, we are happy to send pest control. We investigated the beach chairs after reading the review. A couple have some rust on them, but they are functional. Rust happens very quickly with the salt air/ocean water, it is important for guests to rinse them off after coming back from the beach but often this does not happen. Kindly, FDR Team

Nice stay

We did enjoy our stay and absolutely love the location. That being said, the house could really use updates to the doors, furniture, and accents. No salt and pepper or any cooking supplies which is different from prior places we have stayed. Several doors do not did not function well and everything just seemed very worn. We don't expect much but were disappointed by this. The pool was very dirty and was for half of our stay until the pool person came. Not a big deal, we had so much fun but for the price would probably pick a different property next time.

Hi Kathryn, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are surprised to hear that you felt the furniture and accents are dated as many of it was just purchased new last year. We do not supply any open food items, please refer back to your check instructions on what items are supplied for the property. We try and send this out well in advance so you can prepare for your stay accordingly. The pool is serviced once a week professionally, so we apologize if debris made its way into the pool in-between the cleans. Unfortunately, this time of year there is more rain and wind. We are happy to hear that you had a great time on AMI! Sunny Regards, FDR Team

Amazing Location

Pros: two streets from the beach, private pool, nice backyard, spacious condo, clean, decorated nicely, comfortable beds, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rental company was helpful in answering questions when needed. Cons: parking space is super tight with those wooden posts and you have to use the chain to make sure no one takes the spot that is reserved for Seashell guests. We have a Mercedes SUV, (just for comparison for future guests.) Anything bigger probably wouldn’t fit. The donut shop below is a little noisy early in the am, if you’re a light sleeper it may bother you. The internet was in and out all week and a lot of the cable channels didn’t work. Just basic cable in main living room.
