Great place, cool spot by the water. The trail down to the water is awesome with a sweet little waterside porch. Spacious house. It is right on the highway, so it is pretty loud outside the house. Owner was great and very responsive.

Our stay was fantastic! The house was exceptional!! Huge kitchen area and the open design was quite comfy, Nice rec/exercise room. Way more house my wife and I needed this time, but couldn't beat the price. Hot tub was clean and ready to go. The house was located on a nice quiet cul-de-sac and perfectly situated to support our plan of running south to Benton Harbor and north to Saugatuck hitting every beach in between. Had a wonderful time. Host (Aaron) was awesome in communication. They have done a very nice job on this place. Felt like we were relaxing in our own home. We will be back to stay.

À propos de l’hôte

Hôte : Aaron Overhiser

Image de profil de l’hôte
I was born and raised in Southwest Michigan, where my family has farmed local fruit for generations. Growing up here gave me a deep appreciation for everything that makes this area special, from Lake Michigan sunsets and beaches to orchards, wineries, small businesses, and the welcoming community that keeps people coming back year after year.

When I’m not hosting guests, I work as a local physical therapist, helping members of our community stay active and healthy. Hosting short-term rentals is an extension of that same passion for serving others. My goal is to provide a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed place where families and friends can relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories.

Whether you’re visiting for the beaches, wineries, golf, hiking, boating, local festivals, or simply a peaceful getaway, I hope you’ll experience Southwest Michigan the way locals do. Thank you for choosing one of my homes, and I hope your stay is one you’ll remember for years to come.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

I chose The River Retreat because it offers a side of South Haven that many visitors never experience. Nestled on nearly two private acres along the Black River and next to the Kal-Haven Trail, it provides a peaceful escape surrounded by nature while remaining just minutes from downtown, Lake Michigan beaches, restaurants, and local attractions. Growing up in Southwest Michigan taught me to appreciate the area’s natural beauty, and I wanted to create a place where guests could slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and experience the quieter side of our community.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

The River Retreat blends privacy, recreation, and convenience in one destination. Guests can unwind in the private hot tub, gather around the fire pit, relax in hammocks beneath the trees, enjoy the home gym and game room, or launch a kayak on the Black River. With direct access to the Kal-Haven Trail and only minutes from South Haven’s beaches, shops, wineries, and restaurants, it’s the perfect home base for families, golfers, outdoor enthusiasts, and groups looking to experience the best of Southwest Michigan without sacrificing space or comfort.
