The River Retreat is a private 2-acre South Haven getaway along the scenic Black River, just 1 mile from downtown restaurants, shops, beaches, the marina, and local attractions.

Perfect for families and groups, the property gives guests the best of both worlds: a peaceful riverfront setting with quick access to Lake Michigan, downtown South Haven, trails, restaurants, and year-round activities.

Outside, relax in the private hot tub, grill on the large deck, gather around the fire pit, stretch out on the loungers, unwind in the hammocks, or enjoy outdoor meals surrounded by the quiet Black River setting. Kayak rentals are available by request, with paddles and life jackets included.

Inside, the home is designed for easy group stays with a comfortable one-level layout, 4 bedrooms, 5 beds, and 3 bathrooms. Guests also have a fully stocked kitchen, in-home laundry, fast WiFi, Roku TVs, YouTube TV, central heating and air conditioning, a cozy fireplace, game room, and ping pong table.

The private home gym makes River Retreat especially unique, with dumbbells, a bench, exercise bike, yoga mats, and foam rollers available during your stay.

Amazing house with all the amenities and great location, super clean and beautiful scenery!

Our family had an amazing experience here, we loved everything from the spacious and clean home to the gorgeous outdoor oasis. My kids loved the hot tub and game room and kayaks on site made a very easy and enjoyable trip down the Black River that is literally feet from your front door. Highly recommend staying at this property! We will be returning.

Great place, cool spot by the water. The trail down to the water is awesome with a sweet little waterside porch. Spacious house. It is right on the highway, so it is pretty loud outside the house. Owner was great and very responsive.

Such an amazing place!

This is one of the nicest properties we have stayed at in a while. It had everything you could ask for…. Comfy Beds, Hot Tub, Close to Town, Melt Away Couches (Super Comfy) and so much more. Do yourself a favor and stay here! I know we will be back!

Our stay was fantastic! The house was exceptional!! Huge kitchen area and the open design was quite comfy, Nice rec/exercise room. Way more house my wife and I needed this time, but couldn't beat the price. Hot tub was clean and ready to go. The house was located on a nice quiet cul-de-sac and perfectly situated to support our plan of running south to Benton Harbor and north to Saugatuck hitting every beach in between. Had a wonderful time. Host (Aaron) was awesome in communication. They have done a very nice job on this place. Felt like we were relaxing in our own home. We will be back to stay.

I was born and raised in Southwest Michigan, where my family has farmed local fruit for generations. Growing up here gave me a deep appreciation for everything that makes this area special, from Lake Michigan sunsets and beaches to orchards, wineries, small businesses, and the welcoming community that keeps people coming back year after year.

When I’m not hosting guests, I work as a local physical therapist, helping members of our community stay active and healthy. Hosting short-term rentals is an extension of that same passion for serving others. My goal is to provide a clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed place where families and friends can relax, reconnect, and create lasting memories.

Whether you’re visiting for the beaches, wineries, golf, hiking, boating, local festivals, or simply a peaceful getaway, I hope you’ll experience Southwest Michigan the way locals do. Thank you for choosing one of my homes, and I hope your stay is one you’ll remember for years to come.
