Retraite New Buffalo au Bord de la Plage

Relax with family and friends at this cozy vacation home in New Buffalo. Walk to Lake Michigan! This 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home is nestled in a peaceful wooded setting and just steps from a private community beach on Lake Michigan. Enjoy the beauty of nature, while being close to charming downtown New Buffalo and other top Harbor Country attractions. When you're ready to relax, sit back on the screened porch and listen for the waves or gather around the fire pit.

We introduced our New Buffalo vacation home to VRBO in 2024 and had fantastic guests who had great experiences. The listing appears “new” as of 2025 because we are rebooting on VRBO with a new co-host, but everything about your stay will remain the same. We hope your family enjoys their stay at the house and the proximity to the lake as much as we do.

The screened porch is currently undergoing renovations, and we will have new photos soon! It will be complete with new screens and furnishings by May 2025.

This home features two King bedrooms, one Queen bedroom, and an additional bedroom with Twin bunk beds and a Twin bed with a Twin trundle. The lower-level game room also includes a Queen sofa bed, making enough room for 12 guests to spend the night. There is also a pack-n-play provided.

This multi-level home requires exterior stairs to enter and interior stairs are required to access the lower-level bedroom and game room. Stairs are also required to access the private community beach. Parking is available for 4 vehicles: 2 in the flat area at the top of the steep driveway and 2 in the flat parking spots at the base of the driveway.

This is a quiet lakeshore community and a relaxing getaway for families/friends. No events, parties, or loud gatherings are permitted. Outside noise must be limited after 9:00 p.m.

Wonderful retreat in Michigan!

Such a lovely space! The entire home was tastefully, and thoughtfully, appointed. Comfortable and clean bedrooms, and a nicely stocked kitchen. You are just steps away from the beach and can hear the waves from the porch! Check-in and communication with owners was a breeze. We had a wonderful time!

Spacious, very clean, nicely decorated dune home surrounded by beautiful trees. It's about 5 min walk and 60 steps down to the private community beach which kept our little people happy for most of the day. The home had a very well-stocked kitchen for cooking along with almost everything we needed during our stay - beach chairs, towels & toys, games, TVs, etc. New Buffalo was also fun with tourist activities. Excellent communication & wi-fi too.

I stayed at this property for about 6 days. Very nice place, short walk to the lake. Plenty of space around the house overall, and we had 12 people in the property. Everything was in good working order. People around the neighborhood are also friendly. Good responsiveness from the hosts, but we had no real issues. If I was nitpicking, I would say the kitchen is a little small for a larger group such as ours, but not everyone will have 12 people. Another thing worth pointing out is that the driveway is pretty steep. It's worth some thought if you have elderly people or people that are less ambulatory. Overall, it was great and i would book it again.

Thank you for sharing your feedback about your stay. There are definitely pro-cons living along the lake with sand dunes and the natural terrain. We will revisit our description - we hope it's clear there are narrow steps down to the basement level walkout, and we'll double check to ensure it's clear the driveway is also perched atop the steep hill. We had a wonderful stay at this home, and enjoyed all of the perks of the property! The screened-in porch was perfect for enjoying our meals or playing cards :)The fire pit was great to hang around, too. It was so convenient having baby items (pack n play & high chair) that we didn’t have to bring ourselves. And the beach chairs & toys were perfect for the beach! Great location & the owners were helpful when we had a minor issue. Highly recommend this place for your Michigan stay!
