Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Itâs a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! Itâs an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
Your property
The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach youâve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more!

These suites are a mixture of the original âperiodâ construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and todayâs technology because hey, thereâs got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your âhome away from homeâ while vacationing with us on our Island!
The entry to this 1 bedroom, 1 bath suite opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!).
1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! A sincere thanks for your help and we hope that YOU have an AMAZING ADVENTURE!
1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
The unit's ONE QUEEN and ONE TWIN bed consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8â memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge.
There is one smart TV in each suite to utilize one's personal subscriptions (such as Netflix or Hulu) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Bring a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or another such casting device if looking to ensure all the tech comforts from home are available during your stay!
The outdoor shower is located on the lower right of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!
Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and two rows in from the Intracoastal Waterway. The property is set four blocks from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday night and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning.
Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesnât even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less âadventureâ is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
Getting around
There isnât anywhere or anything on our Island that isnât accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagniâs Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxiâs (local golf cart taxiâs) and Uberâs are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you wonât catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!
Guest access
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a portion of a respective deck, patio, or balcony.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (1) ONE 8'x14' assigned parking space. Suite two parks in the main lot off of Lake Park S while suites 3 and 4 must use CB ave S and park atop the property.
âąClosest BEACH access: Lake Public Beach Access (Lake Drive).
Interaction with guests
I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)

Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

âąTo the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFRâs or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCIâS (which are code by todayâs standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
âąALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.
âąNO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!
