Easy check in to this lovely development. House ok, but a bit shabby. Kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms could do with an upgrade. Great holiday though.

We had an excellent time staying for the 2 weeks we were there for mostly work. The property was spacious and had all of the amenities we needed. The pool was a focus of our attention in the afternoons and was well maintained. Close to shopping and restaurants which was key. Would definitely stay again!

It was a really nice place. The master bedroom was real cozy and cool. I had a great stay, felt safe & well rested. Great food can be found in walking distance. It was awesome to see the monkeys in the backyard on our final day.

Wonderful stay

We loved our stay. Home was impeccably clean, amenities were great. The location is very good, buses run frequently to take you into town. Lots to do nearby, great beaches nearby. Just a great residence.

Nice place. Clean and comfortable

This townhouse was nice, safe, and clean. The private pool was great. It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk along a busy road to the closest beach, and Holetown is about 25 minute walk. We didn’t rent a car (the driving on the left thing) and relied on taxis, friends, walking, or the Pick Up Barbados app to get around. There is a small grocery store (Ryan’s Happy Place) about a 5 minute walk away that you can get essentials during your visit.

We had a great stay at the house - it had everything we needed and our son loved the little pool. It's an easy 10 minute walk to the beach down a shady lane, and there's fantastic restaurants walking distance too. The buses stop at the end of the road for Holetown/Bridgetown so it's easy to get around without hiring a car. The guestbook inside the property has great local recommendations! The house is inside a gated development, a new development is being built nearby but we didn't hear any building noise from the property.

We loved our stay at Porters Gate, it had everything we needed and we loved being able to just chill and relax. It had everything we needed and we loved being in Barbados!!

Great villa

The villa itself is brilliant! The property is huge and had everything we needed for our two week honeymoon in Barbados. It was an excellent base for us to see the island and there was a large parking space right outside the villa for our hire car. It is well stocked with utensils etc., there is a large Massey supermarket a short drive away and it is a short walk to local restaurants and Holetown. However we were disappointed with BSL and their communication. The number provided to contact them would ring out and they were slow to reply to emails. Two men turned up at the back gate and said they were there to fix a new gate. This wasn’t communicated to us as guests and when we finally got through to BSL they weren’t very apologetic. We had told BSL we were travelling for our honeymoon so for them not to acknowledge this in any way and to then organise for work to be completed in the villa on our first full day in the property was disappointing. We were also told it would take 30 minutes for the work to be completed and took nearly 2 hours. One thing to note is the gardens of the neighbouring villas are very close together and it is unfortunate if you get noisy neighbours but obviously this just your luck. The road in and out of the villa is bumpy at the moment but if you take your time it is totally fine - could do with better lighting for evenings but I imagine it will all improve when the construction work is finished and this didn’t bother us.

We spent 2 weeks here and had the most amazing time. The location is perfect as you can jump on buses easily or walk to beaches along the west coast. The pool was cold but the communal pool was much warmer so we spent a lot of time there. The villa is very well equipped and has a bbq too. It feels warm and homely and the communication was great with BSL rentals - we had a few issues but they were sorted very quickly. Wouldn't hesitant to return.

Nice property in the middle of several construction zones. Walking anywhere was a chore. Muddy streets and few sidewalks. Management company unresponsive to requests -dishwasher inoperative entire stay. Still no accounting of security deposit. Would not would not stay here again.

Fantastic vacation spot!

The property is exactly as the photos show on the VRBO site - I don't think the photos are modified in any way. The location is great - less than 5 minutes' drive from Holetown and close to a lot of great restaurants. The rooms are kept spotless and we found all the amenities we need. A private washer and driver is so nice to have in a tropical place. The bedrooms are nicely air-conditioned and extremely comfortable to sleep in. The living room is huge. I think the place can accommodate a lot more than a couple comfortably. The garden is well maintained. I see hummingbirds coming to drink at the flowers every single day and saw a green monkey walking on the fence on the day we arrived. The property manager, Kerrie, is fantastic - very friendly and responsive. We had a few requests to her, including an unusual request for a heavier comforter, which she addressed very efficiently and timely. We cannot thank her enough. The rental office also assigned us a concierge, Taunia. She was great in helping us secure a rental vehicle (hard to get during high season) and provided really good advice on destinations and restaurants. All in all, thank you for giving us a fabulous place to stay! We will be back!

For the price it was ideal. Mosquitos were an issue though. Loved the monkeys when they dropped in.

We had a lovely time at Porters Gate. The house was large, clean, and the beds comfortable. We got help with taxis every time we needed it, communication was excellent. It was great to have some mosquito candles and repellent there already when we arrived, as well as dishwasher tablets etc. The pool guy as well as the cleaning lady were very friendly and thorough. Overall excellent value!

The town house is comfortable and basic with a nice pool area. It is in a compound which can be a little noisy depending on who your neighbours are. There is a large grocery in Holetown about 10mins drive. A very nice French bakery that is about 15mins walk (only open in the mornings) and lots of beaches to walk to as well as other restaurants and a large shopping centre

Great house with a well equipped kitchen and ice dispenser. There is private parking at the apartment. Pool is nice, garden is well maintained. You can see different birds and green monkeys occasionally.

Beautiful property but

Property was absolutely gorgeous. However the house had so many mosquitoes. I was bitten so badly I had a reaction. Woke up day after arrival with eye swollen from mosquito bite. I feel House should have been fogged before guests arrive.
