Great Value in Poipu Location

Our stay started off great by using the Poipu Athletic Club facilities, as we were not able to check in as we transitioned between check out of our other unit on the island. This was a great option. The unit was well equiped, with a lovely view of the sunsets and the sounds of the ocean from the lanai, as long as you didn't mind the parking lot conveniently located in front of the unit. Crashing ocean waves could easily be heard nearby as you peeked out at the ocean. The single portable AC unit was not near enough to cool the entire unit, but with strategic placement, the front bedroom was kept cool, while the back bedroom (which we did not use) was cooled with open windows and fans. The washer/dryer was great to have in unit, as were the beach amenities for the trips out. Overall, it was a great location and well equipped unit.

Great place to stay

This was a great place to stay. Close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. Pretty central to everything the island has to offer.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Very comfortable well-appointed 2BR corner condo with large lanai, ocean and sunset views, great breezes, and sounds of the waves. Good location - Walking distance to Shipwreck, Brennecke, Poipu, and Kiahuna beaches...reasonable drive to anywhere on the island.

RENTER BEWARE!

The problems began from the minute of checkin. We were told by Vikki the property manager that the condo was ready for checkin. When we arrived the condo was not ready as housekeeping were still working. Upon arriving we noticed the building was run down and very outdated. The pool was very small and in a very awkward area. After a long day of adventure we were tired and ready to relax by eating dinner and watching tv as a family. After using the well stocked kitchen we sat down to watch tv which did not work. The main bedroom bed was very uncomfortable. But the worst was the bathroom had no door so anybody going into the bedroom had a full view of the toilet and shower. With no AC it was unbearably hot as the trade winds that we were told would keep the condo cool was no existent. The next day began more problems as I had to wait in the condo for 2 hours waiting on tv repairman and maintenance while family was out having fun. That night when we were exhausted from vacation after about 10 minutes being back the electrify in the condo began to surge where power was out in some areas of the condo while other areas was surging. We called as it was advertised 24/7 emergency maintenance and Vikki the manager stated that all she could do was call or text the emergency maintenance. After 30 minutes of no response called Vikki back and she said that was all she could do. Also very condescending and rude when she was told we didn’t feel safe. NO SMOKE DETECTORS! BEWARE!

Exactly as described and nice unit

The condo was exactly as expected and described, very clean and organized, and had just about everything we needed. The instructions were all very clear and easy, we didn’t feel the need to reach out about anything during our stay as it was all provided. We were especially grateful for their flexibility to check in early because we were traveling with an infant, and they were accommodating because it was possible with their rental schedule. Would rent from the company again and would rent this unit again!

Some problems

Property is dated. Our condo well equipped. Some problems including floor buckled, boogie boards broken, balcony needs repair (peeling paint & rusts)small fans filthy which we had to clean as best we could, bedroom screen locked shut & could not open, only partial ocean view.

Amazing

Our first time to Hawaii, and it was magical! Waking up for a cup of coffee with a view, then a quick walk down to the most amazing snorkeling beach

Lovely Condo

This condo is very comfortable for a family of 4. The management team was quick to respond to any questions we had. The unit is well supplied and a super easy walk to the beach. An additional perk (at the time of writing) is that you also have access to the Poipu Beach Athletic Club which has a great pool, with poolside restaurant (food and drinks) amenities. It's less than a 5 minute drive to the club and they provide towels while you're there.

Relaxing with easy access to all kinds of fun!!!

We were couples / friends with differing ideas, this condo was the most well stocked one we have been to and the location was perfect, easy access to everything on the south / central area, we all truly felt grateful for this opportunity and loved seeing they had recycling and also eco saavy !

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Perfect for two couples

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo as it was perfect for two couples -- king bed and bath for each bedroom. It was the most affordable of all the units we considered, had all the amenities we needed for our stay, limited but enjoyable views of the ocean, good views of the night sky, and was walking distance to Poipu Beach. It was also very helpful that it was accessible for one of our party that used a transport chair and 3-wheeled walker. The property managers were very responsive to questions via text. While I appreciated the assigned parking, we had one incident where someone was in our spot which was very inconvenient. It was suggested that we park on street, but there is no apparent place to park on the street; it is very narrow -- look at Google street view. So, I was left to walk the entire building knocking on doors and annoying residents to identify the owner of the vehicle, which I did eventually find and they moved. Everyone enjoyed their stay, however the couple with us would've preferred a softer bed. I did miss having AC as it got quite warm during the day, but with the constant breezes and fans, it was tolerable. I would suggest providing better toilet paper; I bought my own to use during our stay. Koloa/Poipu was a good, central location to stay and see the sights around the entire island.

Best experience ever.

Sunset Kahili 101 was everything we could have hoped for and more. The views and the sounds of the ocean aren’t ones we will ever forget. The accommodations were incredible, so comfortable, and clean. I would and will recommend this property to any friends and family who plan a trip to the beautiful island. 5 days at Sunset Kahili

Awesome stay! - Easy check in and check out process - Perfect for 4 adults - Parking lot is tight but we had no problems maneuvering in and out with compact car - Ocean very close by (lovely to watch/sit during mornings/evenings on balcony, but that means can hear waves at night time) - Appreciated using the unit's beach towels, bodyboard, beach chair Thank you for letting us stay! Would love to return!

We had a wonderful condo that provided many extras: small ice chests, beach umbrella, snorkels, beach chairs! The property manager answered our questions right away. It was a little warm with no air conditioning but lots of fans were provided. I would recommend this property!

Great South Shore Location with ocean view

We had a great week staying at the condo! Beautiful view outside to the ocean! So close that you can hear the waves! Our group was me, my husband and 2 daughters so the condo was just the right size for us. Loved having the full kitchen! Location is great too! So close to Poipu Beach and all the South Shore has to offer but not too far from places like Lihue and Kapaa. When we had an issue with one of the ceiling fans the property manager was able to help without problem. Thank you for a great week! We hope to be able to come back to Kauai!

Perfect location

We loved our third or fourth stay here at the Kahili Sunset. The condo is perfectly laid out and has everything you would need. Sunset and sunrise views are so lovely and memorable. The only downside is that this time we felt that other guests were annoyed with our well behaved children using the pool. Hopefully others don’t have to experience this again. We used the poipu athletic club pool because we didn’t feel comfortable using the sunset kahili’s. Otherwise wonderful place.

Great Views, convenient location.

Loved my stay. Everything from beach towels to snorkeling gear and boogie boards are available. Walking distance to brennecke beach, poipu beach and shipwreck beach. Saw dolphins from my balcony, beautiful sunsets, sea turtles and more. Would definitely stay here again. Only note would be that the fridge door doesn’t shut properly and our things didn’t stay fresh.

Kauai comfort

Great location and very comfortable accommodations for two couples exploring Kauai for first time. The condo was well provisioned and a 5 minute walk to Poipu Beach. Would highly recommend!
