Amazing ocean front condo with views of turtles

My husband, daughter and I spent 1 week at Honokeana cove and it was magical. I wish we were still there, listening to the ocean waves and watching turtles on the rocks below our lanai. This condo is large, 2 bedrooms plus a fold out couch. 2 levels. 2 lanais. Is clean and well stocked. Kitchen had everything we might need. Only thing it could use is a few more beach towels. We hope to return soon.

4th time at same place!

Loved the place. Thanks for getting a new couch. Wish we could have stayed longer, we stayed in Napili, as well. Only complaints are dishwasher door and lack of ice maker. Minor... Aloha

Truly paradise

The snorkeling in the bay with the turtles and eels and fish cannot be beat. The fabulous waterfront location allows for beautiful sunsets each evening and seasonal breaching whales from your lanai! Honokeana Cove is truly a paradise on earth! Unit 120 is perfect for a family to spread out. The unit is clean, furnished well, and had everything we needed!

The Cove - Our favorite vacation spot

We've seen & done everything on the island so at this point, we mainly come to snorkel, swim and read. This was the first time in this unit. Amazing views. Loved the layout. The second bedroom has no closet so could use a place to hang a few clothes. Some hooks on the wall?Would definitely rent this unit again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at Honokeana Cove condos, in several different units over 30+ years. We keep coming back for the location, the swimming and snorkeling, the helpful staff, and the relative quiet. Location and view makes this unit well worth the downsides. They need new mattresses, a new sofa, a complete set of dishes, glasses, and flatware. If you like to cook, you’d feel a lack of cooking utensils. There is only one closet, so you have to share it with the folks in the other bedroom. Having said all that, I would stay in this unit again, due to its privacy and view.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: #120 has a fabulous view but needs some major cleaning and upgrades. The carpet on the stairs needs a good cleaning if not replaced. Bedrooms and bathrooms could use a fresh coat of paint. Upstairs (living space) has a scratchy area rug that sheds terribly but the upper level was great for our family get together which meant we had 5 total units. Most of our time was spent poolside which was beautiful. Ray and his worker are hard workers and keep the outside top notch. Bree and Chari are very friendly and go over and upper to make sure your stay is smooth. We can’t wait to return next year.

The location of the unit is amazing however, it needs some work. Second bedroom looks like it's unfinished. Fire alarm also not installed in this bedroom ? Rubber casing on outdoor carpet falling off, beads to pull outdoor shade broken, upstairs screen door fell off tracks. (We fixed it) Dead bugs in chandelier, mold on lamp shades, bugs in the evening everywhere inside. We love Honokeana Cove but we just won't stay in this unit again.

First visit to Honokeana

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Since there were only two of us, this unit was way more than we needed, but it was the only one available during the dates that worked for us. We loved the location at the far end of the property. It gave us complete privacy (when we wanted it), a fantastic sunset (in March) and turtles sunning themselves on the rocks literally right under our upper and lower decks. The unit had a bit of a tired look and definitely needs a redo. There was peeling paint on the ceiling above the dining room. The smaller downstairs bathroom had such a musty (moldy?) smell, that we kept that door closed for our entire stay. The first time we used the shower in the other bathroom, water backed up badly. When it finally drained, I could see that it was clogged with hair immediately below the drain, definitely a housekeeping issue. A visit to the office got this quickly remedied. Su and her assistant were great in handling everything from our reservation, made by phone, to our departure. The grounds are lovely and obviously well kept. We barbaqued often and everything worked great. Both of us are ocean swimmers and snorklers, and we found the entry into the water very difficult, and the murky water near the shore combined with the rocks under the surface, made getting out to swimable depth an "adventure". We wouldn't stay here again, as we love Napili Bay, but couldn't find anything that fit our availability. We've already booked there for next May-June.

Aloha Joe & Donna, thank you for your comments. This unit was recently purchased so I am hoping the new owner will be doing some upgrades very soon. Unit 120 such a great location here at the Cove. The snorkeling can differ from day to day depending on rain and waves. We actually have a safe entry way into the Cove on the far South of the Cove. I hope you will consider giving us another try. This is the first time we have found, not only the Cove, but the entire island way too crowded to be enjoyed. Felt like there was no breathing room. Dining out was difficult with reservations hard to obtain. Of course, there is no complaint about the beautiful experience of sitting outside on our balcony and enjoying the view and great weather.

When we booked this place, there was an AC listed. When we walked into the house it was burning hot with no window AC or anything. Had to keep all the windows down and it was STILL scorching. We didn’t get a refund or anything to make up for this terrible stay. The ocean view was beautiful but the heat was just too much. Overall do not recommend if you are planning to stay here in the day time.

Reviewer Comments: a splendid sojourn in a beautiful location. our unit was situated at the end of the complex which gave us much appreciated privacy. the view was inspiring: turtles and surfing on the ocean side and a green wall of plantings on the other. an unexpected plus was the huge tree to the right of the lanai which was home to butterflies and scores of birds. we were walking distance from napili and kapalua beaches, perfect for swimming and snorkeling and terrific places to drink and eat. the walk that starts at merriman (an amazing site for dinner or a drink) was glorious and the ritz carleton beach side cafe at the end served our aesthetic and physical appetites. all in all, a memorable stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stressful day one during "Covid" It worked out but we did not realize only a few hotels require extra proof of neg covid test. Most trust Safe Hawaii and the airlines. We were unable to upload our neg tests day of flight for them and could not get them to answer phone. Thus did not know if we could get a key. Condo 120 absolutely stunning views. Needs new (more)dishes. Also no cleaning during Covid. Other Condo we stayed in was cleaned every 3 days.

Aloha Linda, We are all under a blanket of stress during this pandemic. Our duty to our guests and and staff is to make sure everyone at our property remains safe and healthy. The Federal CDC has put restrictions on housekeeping. We normally will provide one maid service once a week if you stay for ten plus nights. Ninety nine percent of condos do not even provide any maid services. I hope that you were able to enjoy your Cove vacation in one of our very best units. mahalo for your comments, Su
