It was comfortable to sleep, but the ants were terrible and prevented us from using the kitchen fully. They were in the microwave, coffee pot and the refrigerator. We were told the ants were bad in other properties too.
House was very cold and the electric heaters really did not warm it up to comfort level til next morning. Room poorly lighted as there was no mention of power strip to turn lights on. No instructions on how to operate TV as it did not operate simply with power button.
Enjoyed close proximity to the beach though the walk is not through nature. Itâs several streets of a neighborhood and more accurate a 5 to 10 minute walk with children rather than short five minutes. Owners and manager made the most of the property, however, Home would feel more spacious and inviting if there was better attention to detail. for example, surfaces of furniture and dressers, cluttered with decorations rather than space to place your own items. More clear directions for guests about way to get to the beach and some of the confusion on the property like other doors or use of the amenities that seem shared like the outdoor shower might improve experience. Still overall we appreciate the space being available for our family to vacation And maybe weâre just picky, because our kids didnât mind any of the parts that my wife and I thought could be improved.
This is the perfect cottage if you want close to the beach and have a cozy stay! It was clean and well stocked with cooking supplies and the owner/property manager was incredibly responsive and helpful. Very pleased with my interactions. This cottage is small, perfect for maybe 3 people. Best part is it isnât right on the beach and away from the cars coming in on a busy weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and would go back.
We have been staying here at this little cottage for years. It's very clean, comfortable, nicely located, kid and pet friendly and affordable! The kitchen is fully equipped & the fridge is huge. I asked Max who is 13, and looks forward to the Dillon Beach trip all year long, where he would pick to stay if he could stay at ANY of the the other cottages and houses there. Max looked shocked and said "I wouldn't WANT to stay at any other place! THIS is the best place at Dillon Beach! There you have it. An honest rating.
The location is perfect and only like a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. The porch is nice to relax on and you get to see the ocean in the distance. The kitchen is well stocked and the king bed is probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on!
I stayed for 8 days. I loved the dog friendly beach and solitude. Loved the puzzles and games made available because I only had WiFi for 3 of the 8 days there. When I reached out I was told the WiFi had been hacked by Iraq!! Haha. Such nonsense. Also, parking was rough if you need more than one car and neighbors didnât seem happy we were there. Still 4/5 star stay for the beautiful beach.
Lovely location. View of the ocean. Short walk from the beach. Incredibly well stocked kitchen for all our cooking needs. Short drive to Dinucci's for lovely Italian dinner (make reservations). Would definitely stay here again.
The property is centrally located. The decor is dated. There is some fixing-up required, i,e, screens on windows and doors need replacing. If you plan on using the fireplace, bring your own wood or know where it's stored. The spice cabinet is amazing with everything you would possibly need. The view is good as advertised. Overall, a nice place to stay. The only place to eat is the small cafe a 3minute walk from the property and the food is good.
Dillon Beach is always fun to visit especially if you enjoy a beach that allows off leash dogs. The porch has a lovely view and we enjoyed watching the sunset. There are a few things that that could be improved however nothing that we couldnât handle. The chairs were broken on the deck on arrival however, after communicating this to the property manager, we received two brand new chairs, which was great! I really appreciate that dogs are allowed and itâs just a short walk to the beach.
For those who enjoy the feeling of being in a house when you're on vacation, you will enjoy this location. Decent kitchen amenities, a living room TV, games/puzzles, plenty to do in and around the place. Walkable to the beach and lots of great restaurants, wineries, creameries are all within a reasonable drive.
Pics on line are VERY outdated and deceiving - the left stairs are overgrown with shrubs/vines. Needs a whole-house cleaning badly. Black mold around the tub!! Old outdated food in the cupboards. Had to wash ALL dishes before using them because of the grime. My cell phone stuck to the kitchen table because of the grime. Carpet and furniture old and very dirty. Dead flowers on multiple orchid plants in kitchen and living room. Dried food on coffee cups. Bbque was dirty and food was crusted on the grill. Several of the light bulbs were either missing or didn't work. Sheets and towels were clean thank goodness. Outdoor furniture was sopping wet and had pockets of sand. Cant believe this place is listed with VRBO!! I am requesting a refund or credit even though we did stay there as it was to late to change!! Quite disgusting place. Have never had such a dirty place before. So disappointed as this was our 33rd anniversary.
