We had a great time at the City Farmers house. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. I especially enjoyed family meals at the large dining table. The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of counter space to make meal prep easy. There was plenty of space to be together and for people to have some alone time.

Families! Stocked with children's toys, "sports ball basket", boots to wade in the creek, bug spray!

We would stay here again if we are in the area. Plenty of room for all of us. In addition to the toys and balls, many interesting books and magazines to read. Great collection of board games. Quite the collection of liquor from former guests. Ditto for collection of condiments. Kitchen has enough inventory of dishware, utensils, and cooking equipment to feed multitudes. Plenty of maps and brochures for ideas about what to see in the area. The mattresses and pillows were comfortable and there were plenty of new towels. It was nice to have a dishwasher and washer and dryer available. It was fun to have a piano to play and a fire pit to sit around in the evening. It was so quiet!!! Wonderful to get away from city noise. On a clear night after midnight tons of stars were visible as well as the milky way. The owner provided good information on addresses of nearby supermarkets, restaurants, and state parks. The interior of the property was clean, but we gave it four stars because of some other maintenance issues that we notified the owner about both during the stay and after we vacated the property. 1. The lightbulbs by the front entrance were burned out. Even though there were solar lights on the path to the front door, it made it difficult to see at night when unlocking the door. 2. We already mentioned to the owner about the electrical connections to lights in at least one of the upstairs bedrooms. Her explanation, and what she suggested we do, still did not really solve the problem with the light switch. 3. There was a nail poking out between floorboards on the second floor. We put duct tape over it to avoid injury to the grandchildren and notified the owner. 4. The picnic table in the backyard had multiple nails and splinters and we did not use it. 5. The frig filter needs to be replaced - red light is on. Might be a good idea to go through and discard the items in the packed freezer and frig door that are beyond their "use by" date. This property is obviously used frequently by large groups who have enjoyed it as much as we did. We would happily come again.

Comfortable home for a group and great location!

We stayed at Anat and Shay's house with a group of 12 and had a really great time! The house was easy to find and Anat was really helpful and responded to all our questions within minutes. The house is beautifully decorated, comfortable and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked and the dining room with a large wooden table and fire place is perfect for long dinners. The projector in the living room is a really nice extra, as is the sauna! There was more than enough for everyone to do without feeling crowded. There were also enough bathrooms so no need to wait for the shower. The only drawback of being with a group of 12 is that the room with the sleeper sofa connects the kitchen / dining room with the rest of the house. We solved this by going round the house to the front door instead of through this room in the morning, so in the end it was not a problem. Copake lake and Catamount skiing area are just a short drive from the house. On Anat's recommendation, we had dinner at Gaskins in Germantown which was really terrific! In sum: we highly recommend Anat and Shay's house and hope to be back in summer so we can take full advantage of the beautiful garden and surroundings!

Perfect location and getaway

Thank you Anat and Shay for a wonderful getaway! The house was a perfect location near Lake Taghkanic State Park where my husband and I, along with his brother and sister in law, threw a surprise 50th wedding anniversary for my in laws. We had plenty of space and room to relax and prepare for the party. The home is charming and welcoming and we enjoyed every minute there! Our only wish was that the weather was nicer and dryer so we could have enjoyed the outdoors and expansive property. We would definitely stay again if in the area again!

A perfect retreat for a party of eight.

This was the perfect space for our group of eight (four couples). We were able to spread out throughout the house and around the property, but then enjoyed quality time together cooking meals in the kitchen and sharing a large supper in the dining room (with that wonderful fireplace). The house was spacious and comfortable. It had all of the amenities we were looking for but I don't think we took advantage of half of them. Sitting out on the deck looking over the trees and stream in the morning with coffee or playing badminton in the backyard won out over anything inside. Walking to the field next door to see the cows was also a treat. That said we did take advantage of the video projector and the wifi was nice and strong. Anat was always accessible and quick to respond with any questions that we had. The drive to Hudson was easy and we bought food from the farmer's market in town. We also enjoyed supper at Gaskins in nearby Germantown. We only had two nights and I know everyone in our group was sorry to leave on Sunday morning. I could certainly see us all meeting up again and using this as our home base for another weekend away.

Exactly as promised!

This was a perfect place for our group of women business owners meeting for a retreat. Plenty of beds and bedrooms - which is tough to find! One suggestion - can you label the light switches? It was tough to tell which turned on what! Thank for everything!

Terrific Home for an Extended Family

Our son got married on July 16 in Columbia County, NY. He wanted a place to gather his friends and family for several days around the wedding weekend. Shay and Anat's home was perfect! The house sleeps 12 comfortably and is well stocked for cooking and lounging. There is a large yard along a small creek. A Picnic table and large Charbroil Charcoal Grill make outdoor cooking and dining fun. We had extra guests and everything worked out beautifully. Anat and Shay made sure we had everything we needed, including cloth tablecloths for our outdoor picnic! The house has a wonderful long and solid dining room table that seats 12 easily. There also a partially covered deck and adjacent indoor grand room in case of inclement weather. We highly recommend this home for a family gathering and a quiet get away.

Amazing, inside and out!

It's rare to find a rental with such sweeping views and a creek in the backyard. There's a great space to eat outdoors, and a big grassy area for kids to play. The house is huge and lovely, and I could tell that the owners took great care with the details. We're going to go back, for sure!

Fantastic home in a great location

This home is perfect for us. It is large, roomy, with lots of play area and a nice stream only steps away from the house. You have perfect quiet and privacy, and at the same time you are only minutes from the Taconic Hwy. The location is really great, being close to any location in Columbia county and also very close to many locations in the Catskills, Massachusetts, and Duchess county. Copake Lake is literally 10min away - a great place for a family outing. We stayed there twice and we loved it!

The perfect escape

We have stayed in a few times this summer and fall, and we fell in love. The property, the area, the creeks, it's all beautiful. The amazing thing about this house is that it is so big, that even when you say with a few friends, everyone can have their own personal private space when needed. At the same time you can have a nice large dinner with a lot of friends, as we did over Thanksgiving. The house has everything you need to have a great and comfortable stay.
