Hi Richard, (One item I'd like to correct first is that you said the bed is a 'double' size. The bed is not a 'double' size. It is a high quality Queen size mattress, base and frame.) Thanks again for staying with us, and for your review. I'm sorry our place wasn't more to your liking for a long-term stay. Yes it was our first 'long-term guest' experience. You are correct that our place was set up more for short-term guests. We've had many short-term guests that have had a wonderful time, and have enjoyed the privacy of our rental, the large yard, the accommodations, and the great location with a 10-minute easy walk to the ocean and the excellent beaches. As every guest has their own set of specific needs and expectations, we're thankful that you gave us the opportunity to do our best to accommodate your personal needs, your longer-term needs, and your expectations, based on your own specific situation. The details regarding the size and layout of the rental are clear in the description and in the pictures in our listing, including the outdoor areas. As part of our efforts to do our best to make your personal experience what you were looking for, we had a high-end cable TV package added for you, and sent some folks to set it up for you, and to show you how to use it. You may recall, we also bought the beach season's pass for you. I'm not sure why your title says 'sight unseen'. You had a family member look at the property before you rented it. You may also recall we offered your family member full access to go inside and have a look around the rental as well. Other than the 4 chairs with the dining table, yes there is also a futon for people to sit or recline on. Other guests have enjoyed the accommodations very much. I recall you telling me that you left early due to some issues that you and your wife needed to address back home. I hope she and you are both doing well. We appreciate that you stayed with us, and we'd love the opportunity to have you again as our guest if you come back to the area.

Hi Rosa F., Thank you so much for staying with us. We were disappointed to find out that you had some issues with the cottage. Having been the coldest and wettest 4th of July weekend on the Cape that I can recall, I can imagine that conditions weren't ideal anywhere on the Cape. I just wish you could have reached out to us during your stay, so that we would have been able to address the problem you were having. We are dedicated to our guests having a great experience, and always do everything in our power to that end. As far as the size of the cottage goes, in the listing directly below the pictures, it mentions that it is 400 square feet, including information regarding the sleeping arrangements. We haven't had any previous complaints about an "old" smell and we often stay there ourselves and have never experienced that. We clean and disinfect everything between guests, and wash all the towels, linens, and blankets every time. Perhaps what you were experiencing was just a damp smell from many days of Cape Cod rain. Again, so sorry that you weren't completely satisfied, and that you didn't reach out to us to give us a chance to address your concerns, and make things better for your stay.
