The location is excellent. The view from the front of the property is truly outstanding. We saw dolphins on several occasions. The house is large and gave us (a family of 6) plenty of space. We had a great holiday.

Would book again in a heartbeat

Wonderful spacious house in a great location, with every room having character. Fully equipped beyond the property description and depiction of photos. We spent a week here with family of varying ages, all who want to return. All our self-inflicted issues were promptly and positively responded to by the owner who clearly cares for the enjoyment of her guests.

Great location, wonderful house and amazing service

We arrived in driving rain, but were very welcomed by the owners. We have stayed in many VRBO's, but this was the best experience. The hosts met us on site, provided us with a welcome pack and even had the kettle on. The house is fantastic, plenty of room and very well maintained. It was perfect for our group of 8, 6 adults and 2 children. If the weather is nice, you can sit out front and watch for dolphins. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Well definitely be returning!

When we arrived, we were wowed by the views from the front of the property. There is an amazing view of both the sea and the castle. Then we went inside of the property and insrantly felt at home. The house and back garden have so many quirky and individual touches that made it feel special; we loved all of the different artwork throughout the property. Everything that we could possibly need was right there for us. We had the best weekend and will definitely book for a return visit.

Thank you for your review. We are obviously very disappointed not to get our usual 5 star review. We would like to reassure you that we will check all the towels in the property and have a meeting with our housekeeper to see why our grill was not as clean as you would have liked. Regards Jane and Mark.

Wales Stay

I picked Criccieth because I knew it a little and have friends that live in the area, but was very pleasantly surprised with what it had to offer, (great fish and chip shop, coffee and ice cream places) My son wanted to cycle in the Llyn peninsula and I wanted to sight see such things as Portmeirion, so an excellent location. The house itself very well situated next to the castle overlooking Cardigan Bay. Very well appointed house with everything you need. If we get a chance we will be back.

Perfect accommodation for family Christmas

We had a wonderful family Christmas at Ardro. There were 6 of us ranging in age from 27 to 99, it was perfect for all our needs and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The house overlooks the sea, with spectacular views to wake up to. The kitchen is very well equipped with a lovely warming log fire, the sitting room, oh so comfortable with more than enough room for us all and the dinning room a great size for our family meals. We loved the town of Criccieth, and enjoyed daily walks along the beaches. Communication with Jane was easy, with any questions we had, answered promptly. For families looking to stay in this area, we would highly recommend this property.

What a delight

First visit to Wales and was not disappointed. The house was beautiful and very clean and comfortable. Very much a quirky well loved family house. We did not lack for anything in the house especially when cooking. The owners were very helpful with information regarding good places to eat and visit. House location is excellent with the sea on your door. You can walk to the shops (bakers, butchers and a small Spar shop). There is also no shortage of eating out places. The town of Criccieth is a delight and the surrounding area is just as good with plenty of outdoor activities to do and if you like Antique shops you are in for a treat. There also is a wonderful selection of beautiful beaches which can be easily accessed and reached. I can honestly say the house and area is lovely with plenty to do.

A Magical Experience

If you are traveling with a decent sized group and want to create lasting memories, this is the perfect house in an ideal location to explore Northern Wales. The house is situated in the charming town of Criccieth. You literally can see the castle and the ocean from almost every room in the house. Parking is super convenient and you can walk the entire town in 20 mins. You won't meet finer more welcoming people than those that reside in Criccieth. While the town is small, there are plenty of quality pubs, restaurants, and shops to keep you satisfied. We had one of the best Indian meals at the Spice Bank. There are numerous fun destinations to please all age groups that are within 30 mins to an hour away and Criccieth is a perfect central location to hit them all. The house is warm and inviting with plenty of space and has everything you need. The hosts are very kind in helping in any way they can.

We had a lovely stay at this property. The house had everything needed - so much more than described in the advert. It was spotless clean and plenty big enough for our family if 8, 3 generations, to spread out in. It was lively having views of the castle, sea and beach and we all enjoyed watching the morning swimmers and paddler boarders - sad to not see any dolphins. It was really good to be just around the corner from the playground and football field too for our three children. We had a walk around the town in our first day to find all the local eateries and made use of many of them. The castle fish and chip shop was amazing, as was some of the local pubs. There was so much in the house house for use we didn’t need to take half the things we did - buckets and sodas, parasol and wind break break, washing machine and clothes line meant we came home with cases of clean clothes, dish washer tablets and washing up liquid, soap in all the bathrooms etc. the host was great, and the two minor issues we had during our stay were dealt with immediately.Parking opposite the front door was never an issue, even though it was the peak of the school holidays and a heat wave. Would highly recommend a stay here

Our stay at Ardo was nothing short of perfect. Everything we needed was provided, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The views from the dining room and lounge were absolutely breathtaking, and the gentle sound of the waves created the perfect atmosphere for a peaceful night's sleep in an incredibly comfortable bed.The bedrooms offered ample storage space and were thoughtfully equipped. Every amenity you could possibly need was available, making our stay both comfortable and convenient. The courtyard was a wonderful spot to enjoy meals while soaking up the late evening sunshine. The property is ideally located, with some of Snowdonia's most stunning sights just a 30-minute drive away. I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone looking to explore the area.Criccieth itself has everything you could wish for, including fantastic restaurants and welcoming pubs, and the locals are exceptionally friendly.Thank you, Jane, for the pleasure of staying in your beautiful home. We had a truly wonderful time and hope to return in the future. Highly recommended!
