Advertised as having an elevator, however upon arrival we’re told it hasn’t worked in quite a long time. Primary shower had to be repaired while we were there and second toilet rocked as it was not secure. Many repairs and maintenance needs.

The only reason this place is 4 stars is because the listing was more than misleading about the unit. To use their response ‘it’s an older unit’. Without a doubt a great location and a fabulous space. And we’d happily rent it again.

Upon arriving we immediately noticed the musty smell of this place. After about 30 minutes we discovered BLACK MOLD in all of the vents and bathrooms. We called Carter Rentals and they said because we had already “checked in” (walked in the front door basically) they would NOT offering a refund. Instead, we asked for them to put us at another place that they manage. We called a dozen or more times over the next 2-3 hours and no one called us back to help us out (we are a young family with infant, 4 and 6 year old kids). Just said the property owner wouldn’t be helping us out. Very upsetting to know what we were exposed to.Other issues- All of the doors you can see visible daylight coming through the cracks. So it’s very loud with road noise. Condo is extremely dated and looks nothing like photos. The musty smell is overpowering. Floors are filthy and leave feet brown and black. Toilets rock back and forth. Dead bugs in bathroom lighting.But the biggest concern was the visible black mold. I dread to think what the inside of all the duct work looks like. We found a place just down the beach that was clean and brand new and properly restored.Disputing the charges with the bank because they changed our reservation to end on Tuesday instead of Saturday to Saturday and keptOur money. While walking on the beach later in the week we saw it had already been booked up again with new people lounging on the balcony. They only care about taking your money and not for your health.

Perfect Location- out dated place

You are definitely going to love the view and location- 100 percent.Do not rent this if you need an elevator- just rent if it would “be nice to have” as it never worked for us and communicate was slow as to what was happening. (We had a friend that needed it.) Beds were fine. When we arrived kitchen was dirty - they offered to send a crew but we cleaned it- cabinets are in really bad shape. Pans are old and things stick to it. Food was left in the freezer. Throw blankets were dirty. Pack n play was just left partially open- on floor. Utensil drawer was very gross. Saying all of this- we gathered all of the cooking utensils and supplies we were going to use and ran it all through the dishwasher and then just left it on the kitchen countertop so we knew what was clean and just used it. The pool and beachfront location was amazing. The views are perfect. The trolley is very close to get around. So you’re definitely playing for the location.

Beautiful Beachfront Condo

I got married on Indian Rocks Beach which is right next door to this condo. I booked the condo for the day of my wedding mainly to have a place to get ready before the ceremony. Check-in and check-out was easy. The owner was accommodating and responded to messages promptly. The condo was clean, has tons of space, and has games and puzzles. It’s beautifully decorated with some really cool things (antique sewing machine, Aztec calendar, credit card collage, old family photos etc.). The furniture and beds were comfortable, and the view from the balcony is breathtaking (ocean front). The condo was better than expected. The only con was that it was only available for one night and we did not want to leave. We’ve decided to make it a tradition to return every year for our anniversary. Can’t wait to go back next year.

Beautiful stay on the beach

The views were beautiful from the balconies on both sides of the house! The areas were large and open. The furniture and decor were outdated but everything was functional. There were a few things that didn’t work very well, but I have taken that up with the property manager.

Beautiful View But Dated Property

This unit was very large and the ocean views and access were amazing. However, that was the only thing that stood out about this property. The elevator was broken with no communication, and we specifically rented this property because of my 88 year old father who has cancer and trouble climbing stairs. The toilet in the master overflowed. The dryer power button worked intermittently. Light bulbs were out, one of the box fans did not work, iron was broken, large air conditioner vent in the master was filthy, ceiling fans rattled so loud you could not use them. Stovetop was cracked, and the toilet paper holder in the master was hanging off the wall. The entire place needs an overhaul. This was disappointing for 600 a night. I would not ever stay in this property again, and I have rented many places in the past.

Great size apartment. Good location. We felt that for the money we expected it to be in pristine condition. Needs renovated. Water issues apparent throughout, in the bathroom, master bedroom. Fan in the master bedroom needs finished off. Clean the outdoors leading off the deck. Just needs a deep cleaning and some TLC for the money you charge. Getting out of the parking area is also a bit dangerous if there are three cars. Would have been nice to have at least a roll of paper towels to start with. Thank you!

Great location and views

We had some excitement on our first night as a high speed chase culminated with a women being shot by a Pinellas county swat team in front of the property at 2AM. This woke us all up and was fairly scary for our family/children. It resulted in us not being able to leave the property until the following evening. The property location and views were as described. On our final full day we had contractors showing up to do work on the property at 10AM asking us questions about soffit and facia repairs and coming in and out of the unit. The cleanliness of the unit was ok, but the beds in the spare bedrooms had sand in them and we ended up washing the sheets ourselves. One of the spare bedrooms gets a ton of noise from being right above the Street. Internet and cable were spotty. In parts of the unit the internet won’t connect, You had to be near the router. It’s great location great views, but the interior was a little rough around the edges and our experience was negative due to the shooting on the first night, which ruined the first day our trip and the contractors who disturbed our group unannounced on the last day. Owner did not ask if it was ok for them to come. They just showed up.

It checks a lot of boxes but it needs attention

First off, we had a great time. The unit was spacious, the back deck was massive, and the pool was great for the kids. And really, you can’t beat the location and amazing views. That being said the place is aging and showing signs of wear and tear. We are not super picky but we do like when things are well kept and we appreciate that packaged-fresh hotel feel and this place doesn’t offer that. You can definitely achieve that feeling in this area for the price but you’d likely sacrifice the pool and all the extra space. So I suppose it’s a trade off. Overall we enjoyed our vacation but this place just lacks a lot of attention to detail and has some cosmetic issues that are bordering on maintenance issues. And most of the furniture was not real comfy. Despite all of this, wonderful family memories were made and we would book this again if the price were lower.

Life on the Beach

Stayed at this rental on a long vacation with my boys. It is a large three bedroom space with all of the amenities you can need. Within walking distance of good food, too.The beach access is amazing. The pool is heated and clean as well.Would stay here again.

Family Vacation

We throughly enjoyed our time in FL. Not a drop of rain the entire week! The space was perfect for our adult boys and their girls. Check in can’t be any easier. The covered porch was perfect! The house is a bit older, but very comfortable. The elevator made it easy on my knees. I’d stay here again!

Great Place

This property is located on a quiet strip of land, called the Narrows. The views from the balcony are amazing and the beach is quiet. You can enjoy shell collecting, dolphin and manatee watching, swimming and fishing right at your footsteps. The property is clean, and just as listed. The elevator makes it very easy to load all of your belongings on it, and it will take then to the third-floor for you, which makes Checking in and checking out easy. We greatly enjoyed staying at this property.

Comfortable housing

Really nice, private place. Only 2 other units share your private peace on the beach. The home has plenty of space to relax and the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed my morning coffee time sitting on the balcony listening to the waves. My husband and son enjoyed the large screen television to watch the games. Kitchen has lots of counter space too. Would rent this unit again.

All your paying for is the gulf view

All your paying for is the view, let me just start with that. The listing offers a beautiful front and back deck; but you can’t even use the front one. You step one foot on it and it pulls away from the house. Very unsafe! Immediately upon arrival as we started putting our stuff away, we could barely use any of the closet space. This was due to the fact the owners had “personal items” taking up the spaces. Not to mention the decor was not updated and they had personal photos and pictures everywhere. On the listing they offered an elevator, which I thought was lovely sense my grandmother was going on this trip. But it was very rickety and not to mention did not come with any instructions. Even though it states very clearly on the elevator to read the instructions. Again, very unsafe! They also offer a game room with a ping pong table. But in reality all it is is a dingy looking garage with the Utilities for the house. Not to mention you have to go through said garage to get to the pool. This is due to the fact the spiral staircase, they mention as well, is rusting away. Again very unsafe! So overall the experience of the trip was fun, but we probably are never coming back here. We should’ve stayed somewhere else. Sorry to say but it’s the truth.

Great place for families who need a little extra room. Excellent beach view

We loved our stay. The location is great. the house overall met all our needs. It's an older house so there are a few things that need some updating but none of that bothered us too much. overall it was clean and just what we needed. Never figured out how to use the elevator. If you don't mind walking the stairs, this is a good property.

Here is just a quick overview of my career along with a few of Carter Vacation strengths in the rental industry. I have been involved in the hospitality field most of my life. After graduating from Boston University back in 1986 I got my start working as a night auditor in a small hotel in Boston. I was instantly fascinated with this industry and wanted to know everything about it. I learned all aspects of each department and through the years I became the General Manager of some well-known hotels and upscale boutique inns. During my corporate career as a General Manager of a Hyatt Hotel in Tampa Florida, I had an opportunity to manage a small beach vacation rental along the shores of the Gulf. Simply put
I was hooked. This became my new passion and career. My wife and I had stayed in vacation rentals in the past with mixed feelings about our stays, I knew there was room for improvement in the Vacation Rental business and I was excited to get started.
