Rooms were clean but dated and new mattresses are needed, furniture smelled musky. The view was cool looking over the 'Burg's downtown at night and my granddaughter thought finding bear paw prints on the car windows was awesome.

The location and the property itself was actually very nice and a great location we would stay at the same location again. However the host never once responded to my messages, the living room lamp and was, me of the bedroom lamps didn’t have the turn off knob (you had to plug and unplug it to even have a light in the room) and the main ac unit had mold in it and one of the rooms had mild on the ac unit as well. Kind of disappointing and very disgusting. Definitely not worth the money we paid considering there was mold throughout the condo.

We were on the second floor but we had a view of all of Gatlinburg and the town was beautifully light in Christmas lights. The condo was clean and well supplied. The decor makes the condo feel cozy and comfortable. I will rent #201 again.

Our Time in 402

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay in this room which is our favorite when we come to the Smokies. Another time we stayed in 408 but the view was bad. It’s been over 3 years since we last stayed here however, we found that some things had fallen into neglect (see list). The space itself is wonderful and quiet and the view is great from our balcony! Some of these things on our list could be fixed by making a trip to Walmart.1. No A/C blowing out of master bedroom vent. No air is diverted into the room from LV A/C. A piece of the A/C is sitting behind the unit. Owner should put in a stand alone A/C unit. Beds were nice and check-in procedure was good. We liked the new combination locks on the door.2. Both lamps do not work in master bedroom. Only light is in the bath area.3. Divert condensation from A/C on balcony. My wife almost slipped! The water puddles greatly. 4. Mat needed outside back door to wipe feet due to A/C condensation 5. Condo can sleep 6, but only enough forks, plates, etc for use by 46. No ice trays available 7. No Cutting board8. No Pot holders9. No balcony table or chairs (these were here our last visit).10. No salt &c pepper in kitchen 11. Toilet in master bedroom was very low. (Bad for those with bad knees)12. TP holder was broken and inaccessible. It really should be the tub side of the toilet and not by the water heater.13. No broom/dust pan14. Master bedroom window was dirty15. More TP and bath soap would be welcomed. We had 3 in our party.16. More trash bags for the kitchen and baths would be welcomed.

Reviewer Comments: This is an age-old condo that doesn't have light fixtures installed to wall switches nor has an AC unit in the master bedroom. We were only provided with a standing shaded light in each room, no fan, and an AC vent redirection tool that we figured it out on our own to get AC flowing into one of the bedrooms. Speaking of bedrooms, beds were very squeaky and uncomfortable. We just dozed off as we were tired from our hike, but light sleepers like my wife can't sleep due to the heavy sounds of springs in the mattress. I was told to reach the office to get parking permit, but when I went there nobody was answering the door. I tried calling them multiple times on Day 2 but they went unanswered. To avoid unnecessary towing I parked my vehicle in a nearby public overnight parking lot a d had to walk a quarter mile in the night.

Reviewer Comments: When we booked we informed the agent we needed a handicap room as my father in law is in a wheelchair..they put us on the 4th floor he couldn’t get into the bathroom or the shower for that matter. Couch bed didn’t pull out (they did fix after hours of waiting) The lady who answers the phone because there is NO ONE at the property .. was very rude! We paid a lot of money to stay and they treated us like trash! How do you not have handicapped accessible rooms?

Not Worth the Money

The first time the water was turned on it was orange. The couch bed was bent and uncomfortable. It was clean though. The cable was ran along the wall. There was a ragged kitchen chair on back patio. It costed us the same amount as one stay at with Wilderness ok in a room for 8 on Wyndham side. The walkway to room, elevator and landscaping was ran down.

Downtown view excellent, condo so-so

Location is great and view of downtown was wonderful. The condo, however, was very lacking. It was clean and the staff was wonderful and very helpful. This condo is badly in need of updating. The living room furniture was not comfortable at all. Had only one working light in the queen bedroom. There was only one chair on the balcony. No knob on the closet. It reminded me of a college dorm room that had been well used. The saving feature of this condo is the view of downtown. We were able to watch the ball drop and all the fireworks on New Year's Eve from our balcony. The staff was excellent, the condo not so much.

Only some of the wall plugs worked and the sofa bed you fall through not at all able to sleep on. Elevator broke and you cant get in touch with anyone there onsite for anything if you need help. NOBODY AROUND!!

Chateau 402, Halloween Weekend 2021

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was clean and maintained, but parking was a bit aggravating. Parking pass is required for all guests, and is in the room when you check in. I wasn't readily notified, and ended up calling the caretakers for this info in fear of being towed. The room was very clean and nice, and basic cookware was available. The fireplace did not work as stated, but I didn't bother pursuing it. The shower valve was also failing, but still worked but not a deal breaker, either. The view was very nice and rooms were quiet. Satellite television included, and drink machine and attraction information pamphlets on floor 1. Elevator was very helpful and clean. We were satisfied with the pricing for what we received.

Not what I expected

Our Condo was supposed to be bedding for 6 but the couch was totally horrible and so no one could sleep there, the chair in the living room was broken down and miserable. The king size bed was so bad that we had to put covers to prop up the head area so we didn’t have to lay downhill. The dishwasher wouldn’t shut and had water in the bottom that smelled soured. The refrigerator wasn’t cool enough to keep our drinks very cold. Knob on closet was broken and pulled off every time I tried to open it. 1 coffee cup for 4 adults and 4 plates for 6 people..I mean really! Plus the hot tub was lukewarm and the elevator didn’t work when we were leaving so had to carry everything down 4 flights of stairs! Such a disappointment.. and to top it all off the bear cabin was a condo not a cabin. 1 good thing I can say is the location was great for the kids to go walking to downtown Gatlinburg.

Floors was dirty like hadn’t been swept or mop in weeks I let my grandson down for min when we got there an had to change his clothes cause he was dirty an clothes was black from all dirt on top of the lamp all was blown light bulbs balcony light didn’t work overall was poor an bad experience an I will never stay at gatlinburg chateau again an this was just little trip too plan for the big one in month so just lost my bussiness an if I don’t get some kinda discount or refund of some kind I will be done with vrbo to

Reviewer Comments: Great location to Downtown - room is dated - parking near condo entrance on hill is tight and challenging - not necessarily handicap accessible - office personnel was very pleasant. I realize I should have asked prior to arrival as a room on a lower floor near parking area was not available at the time. Again, the location is great and we made it all work.
