This classic beach cottage has been updated for comfort without losing its charm, and you’ll love its location just across the street from a beach-grass path to Rockaway Beach. The original bead-board ceilings, exterior shingles and nostalgic photos remind you that this cottage has been pleasing beach-goers for decades. Its compact but up-to-date kitchen, TV/DVD, comfy mattresses and beautiful new flooring will assure you of modern comfort. While Saltair Creek Cottage makes a romantic spot for two, it also has a second bunk bedroom and a sofa sleeper for a small family.

Cross the street for endless beach-walking on the level sand of Rockaway, or stroll to town for casual dining and exploring the shops. Catch a steam train ride on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway, hike nearby Neahkahnie Mountain, fish or crab in Tillamook Bay, or just sink your feet into the sand and relax. This cottage is a great jumping-off point for exploring the north or central Oregon Coast—you’ll end your day’s adventure with a sunset on the beach and your cozy cabin ready to welcome you home.

It is a nice little house not to far from the beach. You are easily able to walk to town from this location.

This house was cute and very clean, the rental staff was very responsive and check in was super straightforward and easy. No internet access. There is no dishwasher which is no big deal but there was also no dish soap. Or hand soap. Or any kind of soap period, including for hair, body or laundry. Otherwise great stay. Excellent location, only a few minutes walk to the beach!

While we do advertise online that this home does not have internet or a dishwasher, you absolutely were right to expect a robust soap supply and I'm so sorry the housekeeping team forgot to re-stock the supply before your arrival. Afternoon! I do want to point out some items. Some relatively minor and one major. The minor is the lack of internet..we had to do some work and it was slow at times since we were hot spotting our phones-having wifi is the norm. The second can be a security and financial component. You need all new, fully functioning windows. No jiggling/finessing should be needed. If you had modern windows, it would cut down on the road noise and help with a more normal, even temp. Heaven forbid a fire breaks out, one needs to evacuate quickly and as seamlessly as possible. Sadly, this situation happened to friends of ours so it is real life. I don't want to have to kick windows out to escape.Lastly, a stand alone A/C wall unit might be a good investment. Since we are so close to the road with people coming and going, sleeping with the windows open is a hard no for personal security-especially for women traveling. The fans were fine but a unit is optimal. PS: maintenance...the door needs to be forced closed for the lock to engage. If you don't push hard, the lock lever will rotate slightly and, for some people, might assume it is properly locked. When we left to sightsee the first day, my daughter didn't initially realize this and couldn't understand why the lock wasn't engaging.

Short Rockaway Stay

Loved where the property is located! Great beach access right across the street. It was very cool to hear the waves crashing as we fell asleep. Clean, comfortable. Great little beach place!

Rockaway getaway

The little cottage was very clean and well stocked for our needs. The only downside was the lack of water pressure in the shower but even that was not a real problem unless needing to wash (long) hair more often ;) Will definitely recommend to others!

Rockaway Beach getaway

Great location and proximity to beach, great space for small young family. No WiFi which we knew going in so if you plan for that no issues! Updated TV would be great or bring a Chromecast and connect to your phone

Wonderful getaway- perfect location!

We had an amazing time at the coast! The house is small, but perfect for a group like us that likes to get out and explore. It could be a tight squeeze if the weather weren't outside friendly, but that wasn't an issue for us at all. We needed more towels and the property managers were prompt with a delivery (thanks so much!!) The location can't be beat- it's so close to the beach and the Pronto Pup. Will definitely be back!

Rockaway cottage

Great location for a weekend beach getaway at the right price. Very clean, the kids loved the bunkbed and all the little toys. It’s a small cottage, for petite people, not a problem. Outside of sleeping, we didn’t spend that much time in the cottage. The morning we checked out, the kids and I watched The Goonies on DVD while I packed us up. It was perfect.

Darling & Delightful

The cottage was darling with a lot of cute touches that made it a delightful stay. The management company went out of its way to make it cozy and charming. The cottage was on a quiet street, but just a block away from 101 and the beach. It was easy to park the car out front and walk into the cottage. Voila! My dog and I had a great, great time!

Beach 2023

My family and I stayed here in July for 4 nights. We had a wonderful time! The house was clean and had everything we needed to have a home away from home stay. Very close to the beach- about 3 minute walk. My only recommendation would be putting some hooks up outside on the porch for towels and swim suits! Otherwise is was exactly what we wanted

What a special little place to stay while in Rockaway. It was the perfect spot for me and my 16 year old daughter for mother daughter weekend. Very cute and clean. Major parent win having it right behind Pronto Pup. Only thing I would suggest is some better beds. They are pretty hard. A bigger coffee pot too.

Cozy Cabin Close to Beach and Hiking

What a cute, cozy beach cabin for our small family! Everything we needed was there, and just steps to the sand by Twin Rocks and Saltair Creek. Loved the games and video selection, and we couldn't resist a stop across the street at Pronto Pup. This tastefully updated 1920s beach cottage was great! The only thing we thought could improve our stay would be a bit more water flow in the shower. It took quite a while to wash up, and we're used to low-flow showers at home.

Quick spring break trip.

Location is close to the beach, but can be a little noisy due to traffic. We knew it was small, but worked out fine for our family. Arrived and had not received code to open the door. Make sure to check spam for email. Owner and property manager were quick to respond to help.
