Nice cabin in the woods! Very private. The home was very clean upon our arrival. We loved the rustic decor. Plenty of towels. The shampoo/conditioner/shower gel in both bathrooms was a nice touch. It ended up raining most of the time we were there so we weren't able to use the firepit or hot tub, but both looked nice. Although the cabin was located "off-the-beaten-path", it still didn't take us long to get to the places we wanted to go - Nantahala Outdoor Center (10 min), Great Smoky Mountain Railroad (30 min), Andrews Valley Rail Tour (40 min) and the Smoky Mountain National Park Deep Creek Falls area (40 min). My only suggestion is to take a look at the section of the sofa closest to the kitchen. It was sunken-in making it uncomfortable to sit on and we couldn't get it to recline. But other than that, it was a great stay. Highly recommend!

The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and had an amazing view from the back porch and hot tub. I would recommend and stay at this cabin again. The drive up was a little intimidating especially when you reach the non paved sections but my husband easily managed it.

Beautiful & Private

The cabin was beautiful, and totally private which we love. The hot tub has Mountain View’s. There was anything & everything we could possible need. The loft area was great for the teenage girls. Will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful views. Came for my daughter’s birthday she wanted to see the leaves changing. It was a great experience. We arrived kind of late so we unfortunately got a little lost but as soon as we investigated the road a little more we found the house no problem. Everything was very clean and nice. The hot tub was a big hit. Everything was wonderful on our stay!

Beautiful Mountain View

This house has such the mountain cabin feel it is amazing. The mountain view was more than we could have asked for. The house is well equipped with kitchen cooking aides and appliances. Also, plenty of towels and linens.

River trip with Brother and Nephew

My brother, nephew and I visited for a guys weekend and my nephew's first trip down the river. The cabin sits high up on a ridge with great long distance views from the hot tub and back porch. There were no neighbors within sight or earshot - it was a great secluded getaway, and we would definitely stay there again. The only potential downside to note for families is that there is not a proper dinner table/ dining area, but rather two separate counter top spaces with bar stools. This was not an issue for us, but it may be important for some.

Mini Easter Trip

Comfortable, clean, well equipped, plenty of room for our family. My young adult boys enjoyed the NBA arcade game(surprise) in our down time. It’s important to remember to bring everything you need for food and belongings as you are up in the mountains and it takes a bit to get somewhere. I forgot salt/pepper & foil and it wasn’t available in the house.

Peaceful retreat!

My 3 kids and I enjoyed our stay At The Hala. Be ready for a drive up the mountain as it’s a couple miles up, but beautiful view once you get there. (I wish I could share a pic!) Hot tub was a wonderful end to each day and there’s plenty of room and space for everyone to spread out. Host was super responsive the two times I reached out, which was great. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stay at the Hala

The cabron was very nice. It looks like it was recently built. It had all the commodities that were listed. However, since the cabin is very remote, cellular service is unavailable. Fortunately, WiFi is offered to contact the host or any emergency services if needed. As well as that, we did spend our last night without power since there was an outage and the property does not offer a generator. Aside from this, the property is greats specially if you are looking to get away from the city into a secluded space!

Great location, missed the mark on a few items.

Perfect location for our outdoor activities between Lake Nantahala and Bryson City. Secluded, private location, quiet when the pack of dogs down the hill weren’t barking, couldn’t sleep with the windows open. Kitchen was well equipped but lacks any storage space for dry goods purchased. Outdoor charcoal grill had no legs, they were rusted and broken, kettle grill was on the ground with rocks underneath so it didn’t tip over (dangerous). It rained 2 evenings so we couldn’t fire up the grill because it wasn’t under cover. For the price of the stay I’m surprised there wasn’t a gas grill, easier to maintain, easier for the guest to quickly grill, easy to keep on the deck under cover so you can grill if the weather is bad. Hot tub was great except it was dirty and water was green. You’ll need to bring firewood, it is not provided as it is at other cabins we’ve rented in the subdivision. A few minor improvements and it could be a 10/10.

Hi Spencer, the owner asked us to pass along the following: "Thank you for your feedback—we’re glad you enjoyed the private location and access to outdoor activities. We’re sorry the barking dogs affected your rest; while they’re not on our property, we understand the inconvenience. The grill was replaced during your stay as soon as we were notified, and we’re considering upgrading to a gas grill for added convenience. Regarding the hot tub, while the water may appear green due to reflections, it was confirmed clean by both our housekeeper and maintenance. We appreciate your note on kitchen storage and are exploring improvements. Firewood isn’t provided at this cabin, and we’ll make that clearer in the listing. Your suggestions are valuable, and we’re always working to enhance the guest experience. We hope to welcome you back and provide a 10/10 stay in the future."

Beautiful, peaceful, Near NOC

I spent time researching places near NOC, but not the unbelievable crazy prices of the NOC nice cabins (not the rustic ones). Some of the places on vrbo said cabin but in the end they were multiple units connected advertised as "cabin". This cabin is a cabin on its own and in a beautiful setting.Related to the other reviews - Yes this place is up a gravel road and pretty high up - that is how you get such an amazing view. Also keep in mind what the area is and the other options. This is a gem in comparison to what I saw online and what you see driving around. And the hot tub was clean - but any hot tub that has trees near it will get little leaves etc. blown into it. I had a friend "work from the cabin" upstairs while I drove my son up and down the from the cabin to NOC multiple times getting my kid back and forth from activities at NOC and then back and forth from Kayaking with Carolina Bound Adventures. It takes 9-11 min to drive down from the cabin from NOC. Also I brought with an air fryer to do steaks and s'mores Bring what you need. Also there is a nice fire pit. I saw wood for sale off that main road NOC is on. We just didn't want to mess with it. Also this place had more things to cook with - dishes, pots, pans etc. than many of the Gatlinberg Cabins I have stayed in.
