4th of July fun!

We had a wonderful stay at this 2 bedroom 1 bath condo over the 4th of July weekend! It was clean, open with lots of light and easy access! Having a full size washer and dryer was a bonus. The porch overlooking the lake was perfect!

Charming Condo w/Balcony Lake Views

This spacious condo had everything we needed...and some thoughtful extras! Very clean and the open living space w/kitchen was comfortable and well stocked. Check-in was easy and Sandi and Rick are great hosts. We enjoyed Rick giving us a detailed history of the hotel and area...and loved the antique shop on the first floor! The restaurant/bar next door had delicious food and we ate there often. Will definitely stay here again when we're in the area!

Nice location.. responsive owners

The property is newly renovated and despite being on the main drag next to a very popular bar, it was quiet. The owners are very responsive when there was confusion with instructions and checked in to make sure things were going well. A great walking path is across the street. The hallway leading to the condo had a stale smoke smell from other tenants in the building which could bother someone with sensitivities.

We spent most of our time with family however the bar music Sat nite that blared on til 2 AM soured us on staying here again.

Hi Jan, we take guest feedback seriously and are sorry to hear that your stay was disrupted by noise from nearby. After reading your review, we followed up with the homeowner, and they wanted to share the following: -This is the first time we've heard about noise concerns. We promptly responded to your call about the TV remote on Saturday, 6/29, and were not informed of any noise issues at that time. -The property is located on the historic Mayville waterfront, which hosts the annual county-wide 4th of July celebration. This often results in a larger number of people in town, especially on the weekend before the 4th. -The homeowners own the restaurant next door and typically do not have noise concerns. Given the increased number of people in town for the celebration, there might have been more activity than usual. The homeowners live nearby and pride themselves on providing excellent service, including addressing any issues promptly if notified. -If we had been informed about the noise during your stay, we would have been more than willing to look into it and try to resolve the issue. We appreciate your feedback and are committed to improving our services. Thank you for staying with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Convenient location but has some issues

We, as a family of 3 were coming in from Texas to visit family. First, we couldn’t figure out which door to get in to the Air B&B. We tried several doors and stairs before we called the name on the directions and she had to show us where to go. Second, the amount of junk (maybe antiques?) on the ground floor towards the road and the upstairs balcony threw us off. My husband wanted to immediately leave. Once in the apartment, the living room furniture looks like something out of Goodwill. Bedroom furniture was much better. None of the doors shut because of how old and un-level the property is. The TV in the master bedroom would not hook up to the internet. If you’re coming to do work on your computer- don’t do it because I’m guessing you’re sharing the internet with everyone at the Lakeview restaurant. The internet is pretty non-existent. My husband and I had to hotspot off of our phones to watch anything on our iPads. The pros: you have the convenience of having a washer and dryer to use, a refrigerator, microwave and the best part was drinking coffee out in the upper balcony looking at the lake. Just don’t look to the left and see all the stuff covered up outside (she said they were remodeling) but it all looked like it was there a while. Check out was easy except they say take out the garbage, but don’t say where to leave it. A broom and dustpan would have been nice to have. Directions are too vague.

The homeowner would like to share the following:- The main entrance is shown in the listing photos and is located at the front of the building; many guests find it without issue, but we understand it may take a moment if you're unfamiliar with the layout.- While we do have a well-respected antique shop on the first floor, the furniture in the unit is intentionally selected to suit the character of this restored historic hotel and does not include antiques or secondhand pieces.- While all the interior doors are new and have been working well, we’ll take another look to ensure everything still works properly.- This rental has its own internet service, and it's not shared with the Lakeview Restaurant; speed can vary depending on device and usage.- We’re always happy to provide more details or assistance during a stay, and we encourage guests to reach out directly when on-site.We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve the guest experience.
