Like the name of my new children's book "I Love You to Heaven and Back" that is how we feel about Mark and Mary H. They were very helpful. Their Sandy Cheeks property was very clean, but the wooden railings could really be sanded down and stained with a water sealant. My four-year-old got five blisters in her hands the first hour we were there. Of course, I forgot to bring the tweezers, so we had to go shopping for them. The location is right across the road from Barefoot Bernie's, the Children's Museum, and a mini golf course with Go Karts, great for variety and rainy days. But because it is between two well-traveled roads, you really hear the traffic while trying to sleep at night. However, we loved the star fish themed rooms, the table that is big enough for 10, and that there were board games for rainy days, and beach toys and boogie boards for beach days. The double showers below were perfect for getting the sand off for multiple family members at the same time. Things that can be improved: notifying the guests that the upper loft bedroom and play area is not air-conditioned, only has fans; the table could have a clear, plastic cloth on it, so when children spill, it is easily wiped off; and the light bulbs should match the correct sizes for the bedroom light fixtures to be easily replaced. The one burnt out, but the light bulbs under the sink were too big to replace it. Also, the yellow door in the kitchen needs the glass to have a curtain over it or the clear part to have a film over it like the front door did. Everyone could see me making my breakfast in my PJ's in the morning through the body-length glass. I felt like it might not be too safe at night. If you like a very firm mattress, you are in luck in the master bedroom. We enjoyed the new glass shower in the smaller bathroom. The colorful outdoor chairs were comfy and bright and there were blue shutters to add more color to the outside of the house than shown here. We loved the very quick walk to the beach, but hated that we had to cross a two lane road where the cars didn't always stop at the cross walk. The price was the best for Outer Banks. Mark and Mary return phone calls quickly, even when they are on vacation.
