Spring vac

Overall our stay was great. Master bedroom needs new mattress. Also I didn't realize the unit was upstairs. We are older adults it was a little hard going up and down the stairs . Pans were a little beat up. Good for large family and close to pool.

Just an ok stay - many things need fixed/replaced

TERRIBLE check in process - passes were not at spot we were asked to stop at - waited almost an hour for call back. Claire then said passes were in office on her desk - they weren’t. Temp passes called into gate … then next day all the blame was put on Shipyard. When I requested some form of compensation for all of this inconvenience, all that was given was a waving of the parking fee … a fee that wasn’t even listed on the agreement. A simple “we screwed up and will do our best to make it up to you” would have been appreciated … instead all we got was “the pass fee will be waived” … no regard at all for what we went through on arrival day. Isn’t using a service supposed to take care of these things BEFORE the guest arrives?? Our place was just ok - nice, quiet location, but inside needs multiple upgrades that owner/company appear to have no urgency to fix. Master bed had a terribly soft, worn out mattress - someone had mentioned this earlier in year and nothing has been done. Fan in guest bath didn’t work. Living room carpet worn out . Washer spin cycle extremely noisy / Dryer set off smoke alarm numerous times, then didn’t dry our clothes forcing us to a laundromat on Sat before leaving to dry clothes. My wife killed 3 cockroaches in kitchen. Would have been nice to have some beach equipment and/or bikes. Have stayed in different areas of Shipyard twice before and was extremely satisfied - that’s the reason we came back to that area … but not a good overall experience here

Overall it was in a great location, a short drive to the beach, easy parking. Loaction is just ok outside of Coligny where all the stores and action is which is perfect. The place it self I'd give 3 stars - a bit outdated and needs some up keep (old worn carpet, sunken couches, bathroom shower, rusty outdoor table) The place was ok for a last minute get away. Next time we will be looking for something a bit more up to date and child friendly. They have a first floor open staircase. The office management team provided no information about where to access the beach or pool. They were very hard to reach by phone, I was hung up 3 times after being on 15 minutes holds. If your looking for a place to sleep and beach/ bar all day and night then this is a great place. If your looking for a place to hang with young children for longer then 2 days then this might not be the best choice.

Family Trip

The Shipyard area is nice and very convenient. Everything you need is within a mile or two. Great family environment. This villa in particular is fine but could use some updating. They don't clean the vaulted ceilings and there were lots of cobwebs and some spiders. Two issues with the check in process as the security gate at Shipyard did not have us listed and it took a few calls until I finally got our parking passes the next morning. Also, the tennis courts were locked with a passcode lock and neither Vtrips nor the Shipyard main office knew the code. We finally got it from other people staying there. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay.

HHI did not disappoint….. property needs attention

We experienced ants and roaches in the kitchen, carpet had lumps in it in some spots, toilets did not do very well for flushing, AC seemed to lack in keeping the place cool and we didn’t have hot water for our last day.

Great neighborhood property needs updating

This property is in a great location and the neighborhood is so pretty. However, the property itself needs some maintenance as there were many things that were falling apart. For example nails sticking out, the toilet was running, tiles falling off the bath tub, the carpet had tons of stains. A little TLC would go a long way and would make this property more desirable and safe for guests.

I hate bad reviews, but...

So from prior reviews, I knew this condo would be dated but also had no intention of spending the majority of my time there, and was therefore prepared to not care too much about that. And I really tried to overlook that peeling paint and missing tiles in the bathroom, but this place should really be listed as 2 bed and 1.5 bath because the shower/bath in the master bedroom was completely non-functioning. The only water I could get from it was the constant trickle of water that was constantly coming from it on arrival. I was able to contact the property management company about this, and they told me they scheduled a plumber for the following day who never showed up. I called again to let them know and never heard back. The unit was overall clean, although the kitchen had an ant issue (coming from the windows it seemed) and the location a rampant mosquito issue (so that outdoor porch is nice in pictures but less so in person). The view from the unit of the pond is lovely, though, and walking through the Evian property was very nice. The only other negative was the internet - if you want to stream anything be prepared for frequent buffering. But if you like carting DVDs and VHS tapes with you, those units are available.

Nice stay

Loved our stay in shipyard. Floor plan was awesome, very roomy. Condo is a little tired and needs freshening but overall, it got the job done for us.

Keep Looking

In need of some TLC, and maintenance. As soon as we stepped into the unit it smelled of a port o potty, there were ants in the kitchen and the master bedroom shower did not work correctly. I had a cool shower that evening. No sheets for the sofa bed. Closed the blinds in the master bedroom and several of them fell into the floor. I just can’t recommend this unit. We were only there for 3 nights so we dealt with it, went to Kroger’s and bought Febreze to help with the odor.

Very peaceful part of shipyard

Location was wonderful and had a secluded feel versus a high rise. The accommodations where clean but out dated but wasn't a big issue for us. We spent most of the day outside. Do wish the beds had been better to sleep on.

Great Stay

I read the reviews before booking and was a little concerned, but ended up being quite happy with our stay. It is true that the appliances and furniture aren't new and are older models, but everything was very clean and spacious and I didn't have to pay $1000/night! My family had plenty of room to spread out and the location is fabulous. I would vacation here again.

Overall we enjoyed our stay.

However the unit could use a little updating. The front door needed adjusting and the lock was tough to turn. The carpet was very worn and stained. The beds were uncomfortable. The showers didn’t drain properly. The property was beautiful. We really enjoyed the use of the pool. We would stay here again, just hope to find a more updated condo.

The condo overall was not very clean. When we arrived there were dead bugs all over the floor .It was very frustrating that the icemaker nor the coffee maker worked. The shower head was either not working properly or broken.

Evian Unit 166 @ Shipyard

Rating Details: I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Shipyard is a nicely situation area on Hilton Head Island central to everything. Some rental units are approaching 30 years since built. This unit is in need of updating. That being said the rental management company did a nice job trying ensure we were satisfied with our stay. Tennis courts available to unit renters were under repair at the time of our stay. We plan to return to Hilton Head and would use this management company to help us find a more updated unit.

Other than that, the 3-night stay with 2 days of golf with my customer went perfectly.
