Perfect Getaway

This was the perfect spot for our stay at Emerald Isle. Clean, quiet, and a quick walk to the beach! Our hosts were terrific! They communicated with us ahead of our visit and offered some tips on restaurants and things to do, which I really appreciated. And we were very happy our dogs could be with us!!!! Thanks for a great vacation!

Great location!

We had a great stay here. The location was great for both walking to the beach and being convenient to the restaurants/stores on EI. Would definitely stay here again.

The communication with the hist was horrible. The out door grill and fireplace are barely working, but the location and the overall stay was good.

It was OK. Just an FYI, the house adverises a Keurig but its a coffee pot. No big deal just may want to check. We may be interested in going back.

Beautiful home, excellent location

This was an absolutely stellar house in an awesome location. A lot of things are actually within than walking distance, and the home itself was extremely clean and well kept. If not in walking distance, everything is easily within a 5-10 minute drive if you wanted to venture out off the island into Swansboro or Cape Carteret. You’re a block away from private beach access as well which is a nice perk. We went in the offseason to visit friends but still had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for hosting!

Took my daughers and their boys fishing - had a great time. Property was perfect for our experience. A bonus to be right on the bike path!

Great accommodations in a good, central location. Bike trail just at the end of the driveway and just a few blocks from the beach.

Enjoyable stay, close to everything!

We really enjoyed our stay, and the property’s proximity to the beach, pier and restaurants. The house itself and the furnishings are quite dated/basic, and the steep stairs leading to the door could benefit from repair. But overall, we were happy that there was plenty of space and we could bring our dog.

I could not say enough positive things about this place, the owners, and this experience. The house is beautiful and very clean. The beach is just a short walk from the house. The owners were very friendly, and had wonderful communication with us while we were there. We will definitely be back!

Someone needs to clean this place desperately!

Location was terrific. The lockbox was not on either door as was stated in the check-in instructions. We had to call the property manager to find out that it was on a post under the house. It was almost impossible to open, and we never could get it closed again. Had to contact the property manager to find out where to leave the key. We are not clean freaks by any stretch, but this is one of the dirtiest properties in any price range that I’ve ever stayed in. If we took a shower and walked across the length of the rental, our feet were filthy again. The couches were grubby as were the pillows, the towels were almost nonexistent. What was there was so thin and threadbare and small that I wish they had said that they weren’t provided at all. The soap provided at the sinks was so water down that it would not foam or clean, and the list goes on. Too bad! I’m because I’m about to buy a property across the street and it would’ve been a convenient place for overflow guests in the future. Until some serious attention is given to that place, I would never recommend it to any of my family or friends. We would’ve happ

Could have been great

There were roaches and front door had to be lifted to lock it. Other than that it would have been great. Right now with roaches I would not revisit or recommend. The property manager contact was good, but I felt if I said anything about the situation they would have said we laid traps because we could see them.

Beach Vacation

Easy check in process and great location! Able to walk to restaurants and a couple shops. Beach access only 5 minutes down the street and having a beach wagon certainly helped us take all our belongings to and from. Kitchen well stocked with everything needed for cooking and eating. Bath towels were a little small and one of the beds made lots of noise that woke up our light sleeper (10 mos) but overall really enjoyed the location and our stay here!

Very nice property located by several places to eat and entertainment for all ages. Also a Perfect spot for using a golf cart to get around due to the location in Emerald Isle and not being locked in by non-golf cart allowed roads.

Great get a way!

Awesome place 1 block from the beach entrance. 5 minute walk!! Centrally located near everything you could want or need. Plenty of parking. Yard was partially fenced that was a big help with our dogs. No doubt we’d be back. Thank you!

Great spot!

Super simple check-in process and a clean property. The only issue was a bathtub that had trouble draining. Otherwise was super close to the beach and was a great place to stay!

Quiet and Peaceful!

The house was close to everything, clean, and AC was super cool and comfortable. Nice place for the price. There were a couple of minor things and we left a note. Two light bulbs were out in bathroom, ice maker did not work, no grab bar in the master bathroom.

Convenient & Comfortable Emerald Isle

We enjoyed our short stay (4 nts) at this Emerald Isle Retreat. The location is great - walking distance to many restaurants and close to the bike trail. It's just a few minutes walk down the street (10 houses or so) to the neighborhood's private beach boardwalk. The neighborhood looks like most homes are owner-occupied, so the beach was not too crowded. The house was clean and neat, and it was more than sufficient for our stay. We did not cook in the kitchen or use the grill, but it seems well-appointed. My only complaint about the house is the bath towels. Like other reviewers, I found them to be thin and small. If this is important to you, pack your own towels. A small stock of other basics (soap, shampoo, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, ...) were available.
