Barefoot Bungalow - Ideal Location, No Stairs, Dog Friendly Fenced Yard

The Barefoot Bungalow is a true gem -- providing midcentury charm with modern amenities! The 1950's Florida style 3bed/2bath cottage is perfect for family and friends who prefer not to climb stairs and need a fenced backyard for children and small dogs to enjoy. Our pet fee is among the lowest on the beach at $150 per small dog.

Our Pensacola Beach location can't be beat. We are across the street from the Sound and a 4 minute (2 block) stroll to the Gulf of Mexico. While in a quiet neighborhood, the Barefoot Bungalow is close to the restaurants and shops at the beach. Two blocks to a playground and three blocks to enjoy seafood and sunset cocktails. You can enjoy a walk, ride one of our bikes or call a golf cart (for tips) to take you anywhere on the island in minutes!

The Barefoot Bungalow is all about making beach memories. In our front yard we have a deck with island views and a shady area below for outdoor dining surrounded by jasmine. Out back we have a large deck with shade and sun areas, a picnic table and a grill. You won't even have to go inside for a shower or restroom as we have an adorable full bathhouse under the rustling palm trees.

Inside we have a full size washer/dryer in our entry "sand" room. Our East Bedroom has a full bed and private bath with a step up shower. Our Sound Bedroom has a queen bed. The Gulf Room has two twin beds. The small Hall Bath also has a shower. The kitchen has all you need to cook and serve family favorites as well as a few cookbooks if you want to try something new. We have a Keurig coffee maker for your preferred flavors, so all you have to do is decide which of our cozy areas will you choose to enjoy that first cup. Our WiFi reaches the back deck, but if you don't want to be contacted (you are on vacation) go out to the front deck and no one can find you!

There is parking for four cars out front.

Our comfortable atmosphere and signature turquoise color is designed to inspire you to relax and enjoy the simplicity of Pensacola Beach. We have a notebook of local recommendations to help you make your vacation in paradise one you will always remember.

Had such a nice stay! Our dog felt at home too. It was comfy, cozy and in such a great neighborhood. Beaches were very accessible as were restaurants/shops. Definitely a gem!

Home away from home

We totally enjoyed the quaint bungalow for our month stay. Situated a few minutes from the beach and favorite restaurants. It definitely has all the amenities of home ! Many thanks to our gracious hosts, Monique, Ken and DeLisa and Jon the property manager who were quick to respond to any of our questions and concerns.We will definitely stay again in the future.Haas family

Family Vacation

We stayed a week at the Barefoot Bungalow with our two small children and had the best time! The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. It is walking distance to a playground and restaurants. We were there for July 4th and had a great view of the fireworks over the bay from the upper deck. It is a close walk to the beach - even while lugging everything you need for a 1 year old! We would definitely stay again :)

Great location

We had a great stay at this little bungalow. First, the location was in a great spot. Only 0.5 miles from the stores and restaurants which was perfect bike riding distance. It was great that there were beach cruisers and a bike lock. The outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing off. Kitchen had everything you need for meals and beds were super comfy. The outdoor space was fantastic for having guests over for BBQ or to escape the rain. The beach access was just across the street and not crowded. Property manager was very easy to reach. Check it was simple. We will stay here again

Villa Perfection!

We booked the Barefoot Bungalow for a quick family getaway from the city and it exceeded all expectations! From the quaintness of its history to the beautification of every little detail that told a story, we easily fell in love. The home was fully furnished with all necessities and an easy 3 min walk to the beach. The hospitality by DeLisa and Monique were truly best in class and Jon the propoerty manager was fabulous from the start to finish. Whether youā€™re looking a quiet night of grilling with a sunset bike ride or a day at the beach with margaritas on the patio, I highly recommend this property; weā€™ve found our home away from home for future travels!

Great house

We stayed over Mardi Gras weekend & this house is perfect. Easy access when arriving & was greeted by the house manager. House is decorated super cute & has everything you'd need, every dish, utensils, pots/ pans, beach towels, bikes, games etc. We really appreciated the gate entrance onto Via De Luna since we walk everywhere & it was nice to sit right there to watch the parade go by. There's even a cool upper deck we sat on for a while just to people watch & hang out. Overall awesome house, location; John was super nice & helpful as well as the home owners DeLisa and Monique. (We stayed out a little late on our last night & they graciously let us extend our checkout an hour)appreciated Highly recommend

Two cousins, Monique and DeLisa, born and raised in Pensacola, decided to buy an original Florida Cottage in 2013 in honor of our mothers, Ann and Dot, and our childhood. Together with Monique's husband Ken, we christened The Barefoot Bungalow and set out to make our 1,000 sq ft in paradise comfortable for today while maintaining the original 1952 charm. No drywall for us!

We have moved around a lot but two things remain constant, our love for family and Pensacola Beach. DeLisa now lives in Park City, UT and spends April and May each year in the Barefoot Bungalow. Making home improvements and hosting friends and family on the beach are highlights every year. Monique and Ken have recently retired and moved back home to Pensacola from Houston.

It is our honor to host guests in our family home. We love sharing a piece of Pensacola history with visitors to the world's most beautiful beaches. We have decided that a management company is too impersonal for us. So, we are now renting through VRBO to have better communication with our guests. We have an onsite manager, Jon, for in person check ins to ensure you are welcomed properly and can ask questions. You will always have a responsive point of contact. We want to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. We look forward to your feedback and will do our bests to make improvements to The Barefoot Bungalow each year with your suggestions.

We wanted our beach house to be quiet and comfortable, but very close to all the fun on Pensacola Beach. We have a lovely gulf beach area that is rarely very busy and the Sound neighborhood is a delightful place to walk and bike ride and wave at the neighbors. Two blocks away is cute playground for the kids and a basketball court for a friendly game. All with a water view!

When it's time for some excitement, you can bike ride 3 min. to the Native Cafe for breakfast/lunch, 1 more min. you will be listening to live bands at Paradise on the water and in a total of 5 min you can cruise into the Sneaky Tiki to enjoy sunset cocktails at the coolest, dog friendly, bar on the beach.

O que faz essa propriedade ser Ćŗnica?

The Barefoot Bungalow is the 12th house built on Pensacola Beach. We are only the third owners since 1952! In the 1950's, coming out to the beach was not very popular. My how things have changed!

When we purchased the original cottage in 2013, she needed a lot of love. We put in a well-stocked little kitchen and painted our jewel turquoise to call out a simple vacation vibe. We've found mid century modern pieces to pay tribute to the roots of the cottage. Our kitchen table was Dot's from the 1960's and it feels like she is still with us out here! We are by far not the fanciest beach house, but we hope to have added the comforts you require with a vintage feel to inspire memories of a lifetime.

We hope you will see what makes our property unique is the atmosphere that beckons you to forget your cares and relax into the simplicity -- oh and you will dream of the outdoor bathhouse long after you have gone. We will look forward to welcoming you back again next year!
