Downtown Friday Harbor! (Logger Suite)

Studio in Downtown Friday Harbor with Full Bath. Great Space for a Couple. Walking distance from the ferry landing.

The Logger Suite is one of 5 separate Suites to rent among the Acanthus House. The Logger is a cozy, second-floor studio with a (new in December 2023) full bed, sitting area, a kitchenette with sink, and bathroom that includes a toilet, shower and small tub. It is furnished with a table and chairs.

This studio suite is equipped with Wi-fi and a Smart TV so guests can log-in to their preferred streaming services.

Guests will find that one block from Acanthus Suites will bring you into the heart of downtown Friday Harbor, offering many delicious restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, ice-cream shops and art galleries, all within walking distance. On Saturday mornings the local San Juan Island Farmer's Market is a 5-minute walk from the Acanthus Suites!

Any or all Acanthus Suites can be rented for different group sizes!

The Acanthus House is one of Friday Harbor's first important historic homes. Built in 1913, it was a wedding gift for a wealthy merchant's daughter. It has been beautifully restored. Located in historic downtown Friday Harbor; only 3 blocks from the ferry dock and Port of Friday Harbor and is an excellent option for those coming to explore the island and have a comfortable place to rest at night.

The Acanthus House does not have Air Conditioning.
The unit does not have laundry facilities.
**Kitchenette means mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, plates, cups. Toaster available upon request. **

The internet / Wi-fi at this house should be sufficient for streaming video, phone calls, remote work and video conferencing.

Quaint older home (1913). One room for bedroom, bath, and kitchen. Nicely organized with curtain dividers and all the amenities for a simple microwaveable meal that we bought at nearby Kings Market.Walking distance to all downtown shops and restaurants. The only bad part for us was the neighbors down the hall. They were talking very loud and late at night. We couldn't tell if they had loud voices or if the sound carried. I remember seeing a review from a previous renter about noise. We finally asked them to be quiet and they were nice. We did have a wonderful stay and enjoyed our time in Friday Harbor.

This was clean and tidy. Check-in was smooth. Great location. The toilet is in an alcove with a curtain to separate it from the living space. Kitchen has microwave, coffee pot and a fridge.

it was a advertised, but really needs to be air conditioned being at the top of the house. When it was fairly cool outside the fan did the job well enough, but when it was hot it was NOT :-)

Fit our needs great. Within walking distance of downtown Friday Harbor. Only complaints would be that the bed is a little small for two people and up against a slanted wall and the water pressure is not great.

Perfect for solo travelers

Cute little room, close enough to grocery store and local activities for a car-free vacation. The bed is VERY comfortable, I slept like the dead.I can see how noise might be problematic if other renters in the house are loud, but everyone was very considerate and respectful of others during my stay. Would stay again!

Affordable Stay in Friday Harbor

This was a nice affordable place to stay at. Note that it is not perfect and I knew this when booking based on previous reviews (such that it has low hanging ceilings and a curtain for the bathroom door.) The only unexpected thing that was bothersome to us, especially to my fiance, was that the water tasted like chlorine. I'd recommend bringing your own supply of water for drinking.I was really satisfied that the room had a microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishes, dishsoap, a fresh cleaning sponge, and plenty of clean towels. The location was great. I loved that we were a very short walk to the heart of Friday Harbor.

Perfect location

Nice and clean unit. The bathroom doesn't have a door but there is a curtain- that detail is listed under the photos and not the general description of the unit. Be careful if you are over 6ft the ceiling is slanted so depending on where you are you'll hit your head.

Ok if your options are limited.

The place is adequate but I wouldn't stay again. It's not a bad place, it's more hostel like than a BnB. The room was tiny and it is an old house. The rate I paid because I was last min booking was absolutely OUTLANDISH for the room. There's no privacy in the bathroom. It's a curtain. The signs around the place are less than welcoming. I ran into other boarders while I was there and it was unanimous. Nothing terrible but we'd never choose it again. No AC and it was hot! Pro: location was great. Everything was within a 5 min walk.

Close to town but so noisy, a no for me!

This place's location is the best thing going for it! The price starts out cheap but doubles after fees and taxes. It is a nice old house with no insulation and you can hear everything going on with your neighbors. The rooms just down the hall are meant to be connected but on the outside so there is noisy banging of doors at all hours as children go in and out of the main room. The first night there was a party that lasted till midnight. The proprietor said he would come over, but it was late and I did not think they would continue. I should have had him come. The little room is quite small and made even smaller by the slanting eaves. The house cleaner said she hates to clean the room because she is always hitting her head. If you only plan to stay a night or 2 and are not worried about noise and don't have a car, this place might work for you. But I do not recommend it.

There were several unfriendly signs in the apartment , stating :If you move any cups or utensils to another place you will be fined $200. If you check out after 10 am you will be fined $200 . How about a sign saying Welcome and have a good time?

Spot on in every way

Tony, the housekeeper attended to any minor need we had. The location was ideal, parking perfect for two motorbikes, and an endless supply of hot water for much welcomed showers after days spent hiking. The only minor issue is the real need for a blackout curtain above the sink. Lovely stay all around.
