A Home With a View

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the home. It was beautifully decorated in transitional style with large windows that looked over an expansive front lawn and a view of the water, perfect for relation. The house was in both walking and driving distance of Roche Harbor, which was located up a main road from the house (walking took about 30 minutes one way). We chose to eat meals at the house, and the spacious kitchen had every dish or utensil that we needed. When we weren't at Roche Harbor we enjoyed relaxing at the house, sitting outside in the sunshine at the outside table or in the comfortable living room. We loved seeing a group of deer lounge on the front lawn each evening. We enjoyed the Victorian elegance of Roche Harbor, taking in a 3-hour sea kayaking tour one morning and sampling Lime Kiln donuts afterwards (both recommended!).

Wonderful and Comfortable San Juan Island House

Smooth check-in process. Excellent location, easy walking distance to Roche Harbor and Isthmus. Clean, comfortable and spacious house. Easily accommodated 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Well appointed and stocked kitchen, great for cooking and family gatherings. Nice view of bay from living room window. Well maintained and managed property. 5 Stars.

House was great trip could have been better.

Lovely house, well equipped, very modern and clean. Unfortunately, when booked the plan was to have five adults and a small dog. One of the adults got covid and had to bail out. The couple with the dog had travel issues and couldn't make it, leaving just my wife and I. All of that was bad enough then on our second day there my wife had a misstep (be careful of the step leading into the game room just inside the main entrance), she badly sprained her ankle such that walking was painful and difficult. She also strained some interstitial ribs muscle catching herself from the subsequent fall. Icing, taping, ibuprofen helped, but our plans to further explore the island were dashed. Rather than hanging around we figured convalescing and care for the ankle and rib muscles could be better handled at home, we were able to switch our ferry sailing day and departed a day early. Rather than three nights we were only there two nights. So a house large enough to comfortably accommodate six people only has two of us and our three night stay was truncated to just two night. In the end no matter how nice the house was (and it was very nice indeed) the trip was pretty much a bust.

Very clean. Very well equiped kutchen. Nice table space for dinners with family. Nice view of the sound. Setting is lovely. There are alot of short levels and seniors need to watch their step. We loved the place, just a little disappointed that the fox didn't visit us...but the deer were there.

Peaceful Country Stay/Awesome for dog owners

This was our first time to the San Juan Islands. The house is in the country and we saw plenty of deer. It is away from all the tourist action. This home is well prepared for dogs with a back entry from fenced in yard. Plenty of dog towels provided. The house had everything we needed. Gas grill was available for use, which we did. The house was clean and very welcoming. The owner suite had very high king size bed, we really appreciated the step stools on both sides. The bunk area in rec room worked for us but I could see with some children it maybe difficult as it is open to entire house. The bathrooms had no blinds which is fine as it faces wooded back yard however the lawn people came and some of us had to wait until they left to shower. They were longer than expected as they broke a patio glass door. We called property management and they handled it promptly. Property management was very professional and helpful prior to our stay and during. Would definitely book through them again. We had a wonderful vacation!!!

Perfect for our 5 lady long weekend getaway. The property is lovely and well maintained. The home is comfortable and very well stocked with everything needed to enjoy home away from home. All 5 of us felt the same way and would return for a stay in the future.

Our feedback

One problem was the editing of entry/exit code. It needs to be said to lock up, one hits the lock feature on the key pad twice. The WIFI PW was incorrect as well. Luckily, we figured things out. And ALL THOSE STAIRS! I was afraid someone would miss one and fall and break something. Our small dog enjoyed the yard very much. The partial view was lovely and it's very quiet there! Oh wait! why is the owners bed so dang high? Crazy because once again, I was worried about missing the step when I had to get up in the middle of the night.

Lovely, tranquil home

Absolutely lovely home in a very tranquil wooded area. Probably the most comfortable rental home I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve stayed in a lot! Totally spotless and stocked with more things than I’ve ever seen in a rental before. The beds were super comfortable. If you’re planning on using the bunk beds for kids, just be aware that they are not in a closed bedroom, so if you plan on putting the kids to sleep and then staying up to relax in the living room, it would be hard to do. But my 9 and 7 year olds slept together in the queen bed and it was fine. Also, make sure to bring your mosquito repellent and after bite spray! I’ve lived in Washington for 17 years and just wasn’t prepared at all for the amount of mosquitos we experienced! Unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy the gorgeous backyard or the hammock because our first day we were eaten up alive by mosquitos within about 2 minutes! As long as you come prepared, you’ll be able to enjoy the yard. Overall a very lovely home and it’s clear it’s well taken care of.

Beautiful setting and a lovely home!

We are frequent visitors to San Juan Island however this is the first time we rented a home. Everything exceeded the description, from the moment we got there. The house was immaculate and well stocked. The setting, with gardens, local wildlife (fox and deer), and a peaceful quietness while only a short walk to Roche Harbor, made for a magical stay. We will be back!

So relaxing

I wish we would have had another day to stay at this property and Roche Harbor! What a special place. After we finished with our whale watching at Friday Harbor, we made our way to the house. We felt “at home” when we opened the front door. The house was very clean and comfortable. Windows had been opened before we got there so the clean, crisp, coolness was welcoming. There was soft music playing in the background (we actually thought for a moment someone was already there). We unloaded the groceries, made claims to our rooms and sat outside with some cocktails and charcuterie board before making supper. Everything we needed was there. We had a lazy morning the next day which afforded beautiful views with a cup of coffee. We drove to Roche Harbor and were completely BLOWN AWAY by the yachts and yachts and yachts. This is how the “other side” lives??? A drive to Lime Kiln lookout was beautiful. No orcas but still relaxing. I would recommend this house. It is not waterfront but has water views through the front window, front yard and patio along the side of the house. The informational book was very helpful and well organized!! With our adult son living in Redmond, we will definitely make additional trips to Friday Harbor!!

I thought the house was beautiful and was beautifully appointed. I thought the value was not really appropriate.. I felt like it was too expensive. I also thought there was access to water that was closer. It was at least a 10 to 15 minute walk for any access to the waterfront. I also felt like a 4 o’clock check-in and 10 o’clock check out is not within the norm. Typically I can get a 3 o’clock check in at 11 or 12 o’clock check out

Gorgeous Property

This property is absolutely gorgeous and we loved every minute of our stay! The views and front yard were incredible and the kitchen was so thoughtfully stocked with anything you could need for cooking. We enjoyed the deer and fox that visited the yard as well.
