Badman & Punkarella

Really enjoyed this property. Condo was clean, very smooth on checkin and check out. Very accessible to anything needed. Note though...no canopies or the like on this properties beach but umbrellas are available to rent if you dont have one.

Wonderful location. The best feature was the balcony an the view. The unit was very clean with great set up for two. To have made the stay a little better some improvements could be made. The sofa is very uncomfortable, and nosey The metal bed frame supporting the mattress set is a serious toe catchers and the AC unit in the bedroom closet is very loud.

Very clean

beach time is always a great time!

I love going to the beach! It's one of my favorite things and this trip was no exception. Great location (about a mile from Flor Bama), great view of the ocean. Easy elevator ride up. The place itself is fine & for the money-its a great stay-the bed is a little lumpy ((m 52 I need sleep) & some updates would be esthetically pleasing but all in all I would recommend. I appreciate the stay!

Good stay

Overall good experience minus a few minor issues like the television set in the living room having to be manually configured each time you turn it on and the AC unit location beside master bedroom startling us at night when it noisily kicked in. Having said that, I would return for a stay here. Again, overall good experience.

Updates needed

While the condo was basically clean, the kitchen appliances were worn and even rusty. The air unit is in the only bedroom she runs loudly. Definitely needs painting throughout.

Property Management

Cleaning ladies showed up to our room at 8:30 on the day we were leaving to clean. Check out wasn’t supposed to be until 10, so we felt extremely rushed. Vacasa, the property management, had trouble finding our property on their end when I had to call them upon arrival. They stated that they didn’t even manage the property or didn’t see it on their end, which was frustrating. Overall we had a great time.

Not recommended for extended stay

Ok for a few days but very irritating for a month. There hardly any room to store belongings. What appears to be a dresser in the living room is a bed which is broken and screwed shut. Couch is old and uncomfortable. You have to run a channel scan every time you turn the TV off. 10 min. Refrigerator door opens wrong way you have to leave kitchen to open. The new rug in the living room is dangerous for older people. You can't sit on the edge of the bed as you will slide off. New bed very comfortable. There were a lot of little things that just made the stay irritating. Vacasa was great as they were friendly and responded promptly.

Vacasa Rental

Nothing about the condo was worth the money that Vacasa charges. We had rented a three bedroom house through Meyer Rental but the house had been damaged from hurricane Sally and had not been repaired yet so they assigned us to Vacasa I called Vacasa to see what they had available. They said originally we could get a two bedroom condo for the same price. But when I called t confirm everything they couldn’t give us a two bedroom condo, but we could have a one bedroom condo for an extra thousand dollars so I called Meyer back and complained they said they would see what could do. Finally Vacasa called back and said they could give us a one bedroom condo for the same price as the three bedroom house we had originally planned. But it was definitely not worth the money. I looked at the previous reviews of the unit and they were all correct. Not a drawer in the place worked the two little ones that were not broken and screwed together smelled of mildew so bad you couldn’t use them.

Uncomfortable

The location and view are the only thing that makes this place. We’ve stayed at lei lani for the past three years for a week(ish) vacation and I will say this unit doesnt live up to the others. Yes it needs updates bad. The kitchen appliances are nice but the drawers and cabinets either felt like they were stuck or going to fall apart with an easy breeze. I will say we didn’t spend much of our time in the unit because the weather was amazing, thankfully, but if we would’ve had a down day inside the couch is very uncomfortable also I wouldn’t recommend trying to sleep on the pull out either. The tv had to run through some weird demo every time you turned it on. The ac in the bedroom is so loud it will continuously wake you up throughout the night. It would be an easy thing to fix, but the past reviews show that it’s been a problem for awhile. The pictures of the unit are accurate as in that’s how it’s decorated but there is peeling paint on the walls in the kitchen cabinets peeling paper. I took pictures of different damage around the unit for my own record. The weirdest part was we got the text we could check in earlier so we did and not even 2 minutes after entering the unit while we were unpacking all of our things someone knocked said they were maintenance and said they were there for our half bathroom. I never got a notification or text from vacasa or anyone saying maintenance was coming and maintenance made it seem like we should’ve known. Then after maintenance left they left a hole in the wall and the broken toilet paper dispenser on the sink. It left me with an uncomfortable feeling the rest of the trip. After reading past reviews I would go as far as to guess the owners haven’t been here in while, most complaints are consistent. We will always come back to orange beach but will be looking into other accommodations next year.
