Beautiful landscaped property. Space was great but tighter than we prefer. Host was great- responsive, prompt and provided easy check in. He really cares about his home. Home is Close to everything you want to see in the area.

Such an amazing experience. Bill was very hands on and was quick to answer any questions. The place was very clean and cozy and was located in a beautiful neighborhood not far from Carmel. We enjoyed our stay very much. We are already planning our next visit!!

Cozy and Relaxing! Such an awesome spot

Stayed for 4 nights and had an absolutely wonderful time. Bill was super friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative. He made us feel very welcome! He showed us everything his place had to offer and the firepit was such an awesome touch- really enjoyed it.

We'll be back

This was the perfect getaway for us and our dogs. All four of us loved the outdoor space, which allowed the pups to roam in a contained environment. The grounds are spacious and lovely, with lots of places to sit and enjoy. The insides are nice, too! Well-appointed and thoughtfully designed. Snug, but just right for two adults. This may well be our new go-to spot for weekends (and weekdays) in Carmel.

Clean and quaint

We had a nice stay. The location is convenient to shops and town as well as beach. The neighborhood is quiet. Our dog loved the little patio area. The host was prompt and helpful. There had been a billing issue which he rapidly remedied without issue. I was surprised by the final price but I am a novice to VRBO. The place was very clean, nice towels. Provided dishes, oven, lots of conveniences. Only thing I was disappointed by was no shampoo and conditioner so had to pick up myself.

Perfect Carmel Getaway: Exceptional Hospitality and a Pristine Retreat

Our stay in Carmel was absolutely perfect, and we owe much of that to our wonderful host, Bill. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Bill had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment itself was an ideal retreat for a couple—cozy, beautifully furnished, and equipped with all the amenities we could possibly need. The attention to detail was impeccable. The grounds surrounding the apartment were pristine and provided a serene environment that made our time there even more special. We truly appreciated all of Bill’s helpful information about the area, which made our exploration of Carmel even more enjoyable. His hospitality went above and beyond our expectations, and we couldn’t have asked for a better host. We left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated and are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Bill, for a truly wonderful stay!

Perfect location! The owner could not have been more accommodating! Showing us around and giving us tips in where to go. Grounds were beautifully maintained and lots of books to enjoy! And everything we wanted to do is only 5-15 minutes away. Warning: we WILL be back! Loved it!

My husband and I enjoyed this lovely studio immensely with its beautifully maintained surroundings and private patio. Tons of privacy and a view of the ocean in the distance. The owner, Bill, was so accommodating and hands-on with our needs. Minutes away from all kinds of amenities. We highly recommend this special little gem. Very pet friendly too. We truly think you won’t be disappointed!

The Tuckaway was a truly magical property. We will never forget it! Bill did an incredible job when we arrived of explaining the very unique property and building as well as the surrounding area. The garden is just otherworldly. We so enjoyed happy hour there at the end of every day as well as meditating in the peaceful beauty. Highly recommend! Five minutes into town for phenomenal meals and shopping as well.

The owner was very kind, accommodating, and quiet, and the space was clean and comfortable. That said, the listing could be a bit clearer — the 1200 sf refers to the patio, not the interior (which is about 500–600 sf), it’s a finished walkout basement suite with a dedicated private entrance while the owner lives above. We enjoyed our stay, but clearer details would have helped set expectations.

The property was amazing! The yard was extremely spacious and was great for our dogs to run around. The location of the home is perfect as it is right off the Route 1, but far enough so there is no noise pollution. Additionally, it is just minutes away from downtown Carmel and nearby shopping plazas. Check-in was a breeze and the room and bed was the perfect size for me, my wife, and my 2 dogs.

Amazing spot!

The plicate patio was to die for! Calm, quiet, and peaceful. A tranquil getaway. It felt private from the main house. Bill was very helpful and met us at check in to show us the keys and give us a tour.

Cozy hills hideaway in the Carmel-by-the-Sea area. Perfect for the two of us, and the listing was exactly as pictured. Lovely grounds/landscaping/views to enjoy, and easy access for everything we wanted to do in the area. Bill (host) gave us great recommendations for restaurants, etc., and was very thorough during the check-in process.

The Hardwood floors are of hand scraped Hickory Pecan & Walnut with oriental rugs,all new cabinets & light fixtures as well as a stacked Mieie Washer & Dryer.There is an Ocean view Custom Inlaid Brick Patio area with Teak coushion Chaise Lounges, great two person Hammocks as well as a Brick Gas/Wood burning fire Pit! There is also a designated off street parking space for the 'Tuckaway' All of this and close to Downtown Carmel-By-The-Sea!

At the 'Tuckaway' you are within walking distance to the 'Carmel Mission Trail Park' that is a walking trail to downtown Carmel with plenty of Shops and Restaurants as well as the Beautiful sandy beachs of Carmel-By-The-Sea.It is only a few minutes drive to the Beautiful State Park known as 'Point Lobos'located right on the Pacific Ocean !There are numerous Wine tasting rooms as well as Vineyards within a short drive, and the Finest Golf Courses in the Country. Just 10 minutes away is the Well known Monterey Fishermans Wharf and Stienbeck Cannery Row with many gift shops & restaurants!
