High Peaks Gathering Place provides a wonderful setting to host family reunions, bridal shower and small company events. The 6500 square feet spacious house has 9 bedrooms and 6 full bathroom and can sleep up to 18 guest. Please note that this number accounts for children. The house would not comfortably sleep 18 adults.

The house is just a few minutes walk from center of town, Mirror Lake and Lake Placid Marina, yet it sits on a quiet residential street for a peaceful get together with family and friends. For nature lovers, there are abundance of hiking trails. Whiteface is approximately 7 miles from the house and it offers activities all year around.

The kitchen has two ovens and two dishwashers, making it efficient to cook for large families. There is a drip coffee maker as well a k-cup machine. The house offers a large mudroom for everyone to store their boots and hang their coats. And one of the most unique features this house offers is the equipment drying room. Hang your wet winter attire and warm up your ski boots in the drying room and you are ready to hit the snow again!

Home away from home!

We arrived at the house and immediately felt like we were home! The house is beautiful and even better than advertised. High ceilings, plenty of space for every guest, comfortable beds, and all the kitchen space/amenities you could want!10/10 would recommend this property to anyone that wants a comfortable and luxurious stay in Lake Placid!

Fantastic weekend in Lake Placid

We were absolutely blown away by the property! We enjoyed our stay—the bedrooms and bathrooms were all spacious and clean. The kitchen, living room, and dining room comfortably accommodated our large group (lots of seating options and space) visiting Lake Placid! We were impressed with all the amenities and how well the house was stocked (lots of utensils, glassware, plates, serving dishes, games, outdoor games, etc.). The house was also in a perfect location, close proximity to downtown and plenty of parking. Kim was great with communication before and during our stay, she’s a great host! I would love to return for another stay at this VRBO property.

Family get together

Our family was very happy with all aspects of this house. Really beautiful house with tons of room with a great location. 2 minute walk to Main Street to be right on Mirror Lake, restraunts, shops, etc. beautiful area. Very easy to speak with property manager and everything in listing is accurate. We look forward to coming back.

Amazing house in lovely Lake placid

This house is an amazing space for a large group of all ages. The location is within walking distance to the center of town. This property provides plenty of private parking and activities both inside and out to entertain kids both young and old.

A Dream Vacation

This home is stunning. Every amenity you could ask for is in this house. Two fridges, two ovens, two dishwashers, a drying room for your gear, laundry, WiFi, bathrooms, bedrooms... everything is in amazing condition, well organized and absolutely lovely. And the town of Lake Placid is charming, with great restaurants and shops and beaches and boating and sites to see and places to visit. We hope to return. It was an amazing spot for our family of 15. Exceptionally clean, roomy and well maintained home right in the heart of Lake Placid.

My wife and I hosted a 5-night get-together for my four siblings and two brother-in-laws. Everyone was extremely pleased with High Peaks house. It was the cleanest, roomiest and best equipped property that we have rented through VRBO and we have rented quite a few houses over the past 15 years. We loved the mud room for stashing our coats, boots, backpacks, etc. after coming back from our hikes and the drying closet came in really handy when we had some wet days. The location of the house in the center of Lake Placid was great. Kim was very responsive to our phone calls for assistance. All in all an exceptional property that we highly recommend.

Stay during a conference

We had a work event in Lake Placid, our team stayed here. Great house, just as pictured. Best stocked kitchen I’ve ever had with a rental house which was excellent because we cooked breakfast and dinner together everyday. Highly recommend.

Amazing house with outstanding location

There is not enough good I can say about this house. It is beautiful and clean and in pristine condition. The sheets were even on the bed when we arrived! You can walk to town from the house. White Face was only about a 15-minute drive. If you are going to Lake Placid - stay here!

My favorite rental ever!!

We have rented a lot of properties in many locations & this one is by far my favorite!!! This was my second time staying here & I loved it even more than the first time. The house is gorgeous, spotless & equipped with everything you could possibly need & then some. Our group consisted of 14 adults a 4 children & there was more than enough space for everyone..whether you wanted to all be together or needed some quiet space alone. Thank you for an amazing experience once again…this was a birthday celebration I will never forget!!

The Perfect Spot

This beautiful house was the perfect location for our Friendsgiving!! There was plenty of room for sleeping, card cakes, ping pong, pool, cooking and relaxing! The owners thought of everything! I can’t think of one utensil, cookware, pillow, nightlight…we needed! The instructions were easy to follow and easy to implement. The bedding was comfortable and the rooms well stocked. The location is idea for walks downtown or around the lake. Seriously, the perfect place!

Family Gathering & Celebrations

Three generations (17 pp) stayed at this property for four nights. Three levels of living offered each family plenty of space to call their own while also having many central areas for gathering. Endless opportunities for fun with all of the options available. We had mostly rainy days so it was important to have things to keep everyone busy while indoors. From playing ping pong on the top floor to playing pool on the lower level, and spikeball in the garage, there was plenty to do. When able to go outside, we played volleyball and badminton while having a bbq in the backyard. The location of the home was wonderful. It was so great to walk to the downtown area. Short drives to some of the Lake Placid highlights, grocery store, brew pubs & restaurants. All in all, very convenient. The house was extremely clean, had everything stocked, comfortable beds and furniture. Our stay was just spectacular. We are so pleased with our time in this home, making memories that will last a lifetime.

Just Perfect

Our group of 13 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property to celebrate our Friendsgiving. Although we rarely left the house, the location was just a short walk from Main Street. We loved having two ovens, two dishwashers and two refrigerators! We had plenty of cookware, stemware and dishes! I loved that there was plenty of room for us to be together, but also so many nooks and crannies to relax! Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference. I appreciated that there were boxes of tissues everywhere! Also, I loved the coat trees in each bedroom! The owner left clear and easy to follow directions on how to leave the property at the end of our stay. I’m so glad we found this property! It made for a memorable and perfect Thanksgiving!

Fantastic Location for a Family Reunion!

We just returned last week from an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! We were a large group - a family reunion - ranging in age from 5 up to 80. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! The house was spotless and extremely well stocked. The layout was wonderful and worked really well for our group. The teens/young 20-something cousins took over the lower level with the bedrooms and hang-out area. The little kids and older adults were upstairs so there were no issues with noise late at night! The location was top notch. Just a few minute walk right into town... we walked in every night for ice cream! The house has plenty of bedrooms, a great open first floor for hanging out, and a wonderful finished lower level as well. Plus a bonus second "playroom" above the garage. Our whole group kept commenting on what a fabulous house this was. Communication with the host was great as well. We will definitely be returning. 5 stars!

Great house for large group!

I’ve rented many houses and this one by far was the best! It is very spacious, comfortable and clean. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable and the game rooms are great. The drying room and large mudroom was an added bonus for all the ski stuff. The location of the house is also great. Very short walk to Main Street. We were disappointed that whiteface did not have more trails open and the top of the mountain was closed. Not sure why because there was enough snow. They also paused ski tickets sales bc of covid so only was able to ski 2 days. So having such a large comfortable house was especially a plus since we spent more time in the house than we normally would have. Would like to come back during warmer weather to check out the hiking in the area and try skiing again when the top of the mountain is open and there is no covid restrictions. But this is a great house to rent and we enjoyed celebrating in it! Christmas

Outstanding property

"Wow" is all anyone in our group could say about this house. The pictures do not do the space justice. Our group was comprised of 17 extended family members - 11 adults and 6 kids (ages 1-9yo). There were so many beds that we were able to adjust sleeping arrangements during our stay. Each family unit had its own bathroom. The entry and mudroom area were plenty big for our ski and hockey equipment, as was the immaculate garage. The heated mudroom closet was amazing - we warmed our ski boots and hung the kids snow gear in there to dry. The house is unbelievably stocked. The kitchen has every possible utensil/baking/cooking dish you could want, and there were plenty of dishes, glasses, and silverware. The owner also made sure we had extra paper-towels and toilet paper. There were ample bath towels, pillows and blankets (nice ones too). They thought of everything for this house. Two dishwashers. Individual light switches for the bunk beds. Heated bathroom floors. The only thing we missed was a hot tub. Finally, you can't beat the location of this house. We walked to dinner the 3 nights that we went out. The owner was communicative and very accommodating. I can't recommend this house enough!

Stunning home with excellent Lake Placid location!

This home is absolutely top notch! Stunning inside and out with even more space and features than the listing suggests, it is truly a beautiful gathering place for a group of loved ones with a ton of amenities. Our group was primarily folks over 60 years old but we did have one toddler, who loved being able to roam safely. I imagine that this house is especially great for older kids who can take advantage of all of the games (foosball, pool table, arcade games etc). Communication with Kim, the owner, was very easy with a quick response time. My only suggestion would be to update the bedroom information on the listing (which is pretty close but not 100% accurate) and provide the detailed room layout list right away, so guests can be sure that each person will be comfortable in their respective rooms. (We were very comfortable, but I know one couple was anticipating that their two twin beds would be made into a King, which was not the case.) One other important point to note is that the house is very close to Main St (about 1.5 blocks), but it’s at the top of a very steep hill. This wasn’t a problem for us (in fact, we saw an incredible sunset from atop the hill!), but it could be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Overall, we had an absolutely wonderful time and can’t recommend this house enough! Such an impressive home with everything you could need — we hope to back again in the future!
