Outdoor Adventure Near University-Kid Friendly
The 14-acre property is very quiet, and was a goat farm (Bish Farms) for several decades before coming under new ownership in 2020. Though we no longer have goats, some remnants of the farm still remain and we've been working to repurpose or re-use what we can. You might see us working around the property during your visit.
The back of the property is densely wooded and bordered by a creek. The apartment building was once a barn for goats, and then storage, but interior renovations to this downstairs apartment were completed in 2021.
It has all the amenities necessary for a relaxing stay in a former barn - HVAC, tankless hot water heater, auxiliary heat source in the living area, a dishwasher and a fully stocked kitchen. Also, it's very quiet.
We added a spacious living area that flows into a fully stocked kitchen which is ideal for family meals or snacks after a day of exploring. Unwind on the patio, where you can often spot a family of deer wandering by.
The master bedroom features a plush king-sized bed, and the second bedroom boasts a twin-over-full bunk bed. You'll find an array of toys, books, childproof outlets, and a travel crib to accommodate little ones.
Your privacy is respected while we reside in the blue farmhouse at the end of your driveway, though you might see us working on projects around the property. We enjoy hosting and meeting our guests, but we'll leave you alone unless you want to say hello.
Feel free to explore the grounds, stroll up and down the driveway, or hike to the Scatter Ridge connector trail, which leads to Stroudâs Run State Park and the playgrounds, beach, boat launch, and trail system. Please refrain from wandering into our private woods, as construction on the trail is incomplete at the moment. Enjoy your stay!

We are a busy family of four with two active kids. We bought this 14 acre farm in 2019, and renovations haven't stopped since. We love Southeast Ohio because of the scenery, hiking and outdoor recreation, and especially Athens because of all the amazing local food options available.
Varför vÀrden valde detta boende
This property is the perfect distance outside of Athens - enough to stargaze but close enough that a Lyft or Uber ride home is available, along with high-speed internet. Athens is such a fun place to be! There is so much to do here every weekend thanks to all the wonderful kind-hearted neighbors who call Athens County home.
Vad som gör detta boende unikt
Hike to the lake or playground at the campground, or drive there in less than a minute. Run or bike around the lake. Take the trails all the way to Athens and back - the sky is the limit! There are miles and miles of hiking and biking trails to choose from. After a long day of outdoor recreation, or visiting with your OU student after a night Uptown, relax in a comfortable apartment space to call your own.
Also, the apartment is child friendly! We know what it's like traveling with kids, so we try to make it easier on parents by supplying the things you need to make your family trip a success. We have a high chair, pack n play, childproof electric outlet covers, child locks, and oven knob covers. =)
