If you’re looking for a non-cookie cutter cottage, this is it! The place was spotless and charming. It even has a front porch swing. We also really enjoyed perusing all the old, historical book selection.

Definitely off the beaten path, secluded and quiet. Bring a flashlight to see at night. The porch light did not work and the property is big and dark. It had everything needed to stay for the weekend. It was clean and pet-friendly. The host was available and responsive.

A lovely, rustic, peaceful little cottage. Great location, super close to town. Was a perfect landing pad for a visit to the university. Good for a small family or group of friends. Would visit again.

We got into the property at about 10pm, so it was quite dark. I had sent a message letting the owner know our ETA and had asked if there were any tips we needed to know for arrival. I never received a response to that question. When we got there, it was VERY difficult to find the address to nowhere to pull in. The only number we ever saw was on a garbage. Can that happened to be pulled out by the roadside. There were no street lights or lights marking where the driveway was. We pulled up, guessing that it must be it and once we open the gate to do the walk up the pathway all of the lights were burnt out and we had a very hard time walking through the wooded tunnel without tripping or falling. The house had a very bad musty, moldy smell the entire time we were there. There was an air purifier running, but it did not help much.

We loved this quiet little cottage in the woods. We enjoyed looking through the old books on the shelves there. A cute & quaint place to stay while exploring Athens and hocking hills.

It is a sweet, slightly rustic, haven in the woods within a 5 minute drive to OU campus. Very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is rustic and a little bit like visiting your Grandma’s house and smells a bit musty. It is tucked into deep woods and is very dark at night, so try to get to the property before sundown or have a flashlight. The cottage is very conveniently located to the Ohio University campus, which was a major plus.

Quiet place with all you need for the stay. Only thought would be to let guest know to turn on hot tub heater. It was cold when we were going to use it and took to long to heat up. Great stay and perfect for us. Thank you

I booked this for two moms and our daughters visiting Ohio University. I was unable to attend unfortunately, but the other three guests said the home is older but clean and they really enjoyed the hot tub. The host communicated well. The home is in great location when visiting OU.

This is a terrific place with a few things that keep it from being perfect. The most blaring issue is the kitchen. Like most places the amount of equipment is a little uneven, but everything was clean and in good repair, but there wasn't a good flipper for eggs for example. The kitchen table is also not the greatest. Again, it's clean but it's a little rickety. I did mention this to the host directly via email so it may be something that has been addressed.The location is great! The place has attitude and charm for days! The host was very available and communicative if needed.Overall we had a great experience!

The cottage is very cute, sitting in the hot tub watching the stars and listening to the creek was a trip highlight. There was no Verizon signal at all so make sure to have details for check in saved. Our only suggestion is to have extra blankets available for the back room as it was quite chilly in the night and I wasn’t comfortable trying to figure out the space heater.
Great base to explore Hocking hills from.
