Chickadee Cottage är undangömt och ligger tillbaka från gatan på Ledgelawn Avenue, precis utanför Acadia National Park-ingången och en snabb promenad till affärer, restauranger, havet och den kostnadsfria pendelbussen. I anslutning till ägarens stuga erbjuder Chickadee ett bekvämt läge för alla sevärdheter i området.

Stay in Bar Harbor

Everything was seamless and the host was attentive. We had no issues while we were there so no communication was required but the communication leading up was great.

Perfect spot to enjoy Bar Harbor and Acadia

Nice well appointed cottage within walking distance to bar harbor downtown and easy access to Acadia Park. Would stay here again for sure.

Great location!

This home is in a great location if you’re looking to hike Acadia. Entrance is super close. The home is also walking distance to Bar Harbor shops and restaurants. House was very clean and cozy. Marie was an excellent host. I would recommend staying here!

A nice 2-story, 3 Bedroom home away from the busy commercial section of town. Only two of us so we stayed upstairs. Kitchen had everything we needed. And the living room was nice for relaxing in. The owners were clear about what the house had. There is only A/C down stairs. But in late spring weather, it was not an issue.We had one issue with the stove and it was literally corrected in 10 minutes. We would stay here again.

Nice location for working and hiking

Quiet cottage perfect for my husband and I’s working vacation! The wifi was fast enough we could work during the day, and location was so close to the park. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. We loved having the washer and drier available as well.

Comfortable & Convenient

The property was nicely appointed and had great access to downtown Bar Harbor and an easy trip to Acadia which was really the point of our trip. We were all happy with the accommodations. Only request is to add to the bio about the coffee makers (2 options were great) so we can come prepared for our next stay. Thank you for opening your home.

Great Summer Vacation Spot Close to Town

The quaint, quiet cottage was a wonderful get away for our family of four. We enjoyed being so close to town but also being right next to Acadia. The owners were gracious host and we were sad to leave. Look forward to going back some day!

Location A+

We stayed for a week the end of October and couldn’t have asked for a better location. The kids loved the close park and we all loved the short walk to downtown Bar Harbor. Owners were quick to answer any questions or address any (minor) problems that we had.

Charming place, wonderful location!

This was a great home base for our family of 4 to enjoy Bar Harbor and Acadia. Easy driving distance into the park and walking distance to Bar Harbor for dinner. Very pleasant and comfortable cottage, and responsive host. It was convenient to have the BBQ to make dinner, and the washer/dryer as well.

Great Cottage

The cottage was roomy and had everything we could need. We loved the location in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance to a park, trails and downtown Bar Harbor. We could easily drive to various locations in Acadia and on Mt Desert Island

Great choice very close to sights

We really enjoyed this cottage for our 5 day stay in Bar Harbor. It is clean, comfortable, and appropriately stocked for beds, bath, cooking, etc. Within walking distance from Main St, many restaurants and stores, 1/2 mile from Acadia National Park. So easy to get around and so much to see in this beautiful part of Maine! Thank you Marie for allowing us to stay at Chickadee Cottage!

Great Week

Our family of 5 just stayed this past week and would definitely recommend. Property was as listed and in a great location. We hit the town, hiked Acadia, visited other harbors, and experienced other activities near Trenton area all with ease from this location. Marie was great! Great spot for a family vacation.

Great location

Easy access to downtown Bar Harbor and getting into Acadia NP. Beds and pillows are adequate. A couple small additions to the kitchen such as sugar packets for coffee and salt/pepper would have been appreciated. We did see the sign for food pantry close to unit so all unused items were donated rather than wasted

Great little house and location

Great location, walking distance to downtown Bar Harbour and short drive to Acadia National Park entrance. Quiet neighborhood and good host. The accommodations are as expected with plenty of amenities to cook meals if you wanted and perfect for 3 adults. The only minor ding for the property is there is only one bathroom and it is located on the second floor. Overall, this would be a great place for a small family or couple as there is plenty of room.

Magic in Maine

We loved our stay in Maine at the Chickadee Cottage. It was a great location close to the downtown area. The cottage was quiet and located in a nice neighborhood. We went to a family wedding in Acadia National Park….what a magical place! Downtown was a little busy cause of some cruise ships docking in the harbor. It has many great restaurants and lots of lobster to eat in all kinds of ways! Can’t wait to return again!

Perfect home base!

We stayed with our 3 and 4 year old kiddos and the house was perfect for us! The kids really adored the play house, that was a great touch! It was close enough to town that we walked in for dinner and shopping with the kids in a wagon, and also a super short drive to get into Acadia. Also great communication with Marie! Thanks so much!

Lovely cottage in the heart of Bar Harbor

Marie’s cottage was such a lovely home to stay in while we visited Bar Harbor. The house was clean, comfortable and cozy. It was so nice to have a kitchen and washer and dryer to use during our week in town. It was a short walk into Bar Harbor and a very short drive into the park. I drove to Eagle Lake to run daily and it only took me 5 minutes. Marie was so easy to communicate with and very responsive. Would definitely rent again!

Very nice place with a short walk to the Village Green and Waterfront

The house fit our family of four very well with another room to spare. The house was well equipped and clean. Although the owners live next door, they definitely make it a point to give you privacy and space. A quick ten minute walk puts you at all the shops and restaurants of Bar Harbor. An added bonus was the community playground around the corner of the block. We would absolutely stay here again.

We have lived in Bar Harbor for over 30 years. Marie began working at the Jordan Pond House during summers, earning money to pay for college. After traveling to France to visit family, a road-trip across the United States, and finishing graduate school she moved to MDI for good. Kyle came to Acadia after graduating from college in the South. He planned to work in different national parks across the country. After working in Glacier National Park in Montana, he headed to Acadia for one season, where Marie and Kyle's paths finally crossed. The rest is history! We feel lucky to call this amazing place home, and could not imagine raising our family anywhere else.

This property is close to everything wonderful about in-town Bar Harbor, but still quiet and residential-the best of both worlds. You can sleep with your windows open and smell the ocean when you wake. It is modern, clean, uncluttered, and filled with all the amenities you'll need to make your stay relaxing. We have a personal and professional knowledge of the park and MDI, and would love to share our favorite spots to enjoy the park and island with you.

You won't find an easier, more convenient place to stay in Bar Harbor, if you are a family or a couple! You can walk to the Great Meadow Path right from the cottage, or hop in your car to access the Park Loop Road in 5 minutes, at the end of our street.
