Cabin Retreat för två på Little Cranberry Island (Islesford)

Inbäddat i skogen på en liten ö, lättillgänglig med färja, erbjuder vår "lilla" stuga lugn med alla nödvändigheter. Små i storlek, men perfekt för två, njut av verandan gunga eller korgstolar för en lugn eftermiddag med en bok eller gå kaffe till Gilley Beach och titta på soluppgången, bara några hundra meter nerför vägen. Matbordet rymmer lätt 4 om du vill bjuda in dina nya ön vänner för drycker eller middag!

Stugan erbjuder ett komplett badrum med stor dusch med pappersvaror, tvål och handdukar. Ett välutrustat kök med två brännare kokplatta, kylskåp, mikrovågsugn / konvektion combo, brödrost, keurig, mixer och crock potten erbjuder alla krukor och kokkärl, tallrikar och bestick man kan behöva. En Weber Gasgrill ligger precis utanför stugan för alla dina favoritmåltider. Drottningbädden på loftet nås av en spiraltrappa. En drottning sovvagn finns också på bottenvåningen för dem som föredrar att undvika trappor. Moderna bekvämligheter som höghastighets Wi-Fi, en smart tv med dina favoritappar, värme och AC-blandning med åldrade drivved accenter och björkspånräcken för att skapa en lugn, mysig men ändå mycket bekväm plats att återvända till medan du fortfarande känner dig kopplad till världen på stor på vilken nivå du väljer.

Stugan ligger nära huvudhuset vilket gör oss lättillgängliga för alla frågor om öliv, lobstering, off-island-äventyr (som Acadia National Park och Bar Harbor) och hur det är som att vinter i Maine- men ändå erbjuder allt privatliv du skulle vilja. Det är en 5-10 minuters promenad till Town Dock där färjan landar och avgår varannan timme på sommaren, vilket ger enkel tillgång till Acadia och dess riktigt ökända Rockefeller-vagnar och spår. Island Explorer GRATIS busstrafik avgår regelbundet från fastlandsbryggan så att alla besökare får full tillgång till Acadia utan krångel att leta efter parkering. Vi erbjuder en gratis, avsedd parkeringsplats på fastlandet, intill färjepiren, under hela gästens vistelse. Den korta, mycket natursköna färjeturen mellan Cranberry Isles på passagerarnas "postbåt" anses av många vara en av de mer minnesvärda höjdpunkterna vid varje besök på vår ö.

Ön är hemma för en lokalt känd hot spot, The Islesford Dock Restaurant. På Islesford finns också Islesford Pottery, flera konstgallerier, flera museer och en presentbutik. Ett bibliotek och postkontor är en 5-7 min promenad. Vidare erbjuder en sommarnattfärja (6 nätter i veckan) enkel tillgång till rörelsen i Bar Harbor och vagnarna i Acadia National Park, samtidigt som de lugna havsvågorna får dig att sova när du återvänder.

LCI...a wonderful way to enjoy beauty, nature and people.

The perfect stay at a little cabin in the woods

Joanne and Paul were the perfect hosts for a wonderful stay at their great little cabin in the woods. Joanne delivered the most delicious breakfast treats every morning of our stay. Paul delivered and cooked the best lobster we have ever eaten. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Little Cranberry Island was a real surprise!! The Island is beautiful and also has a strong sense of community with so many friendly residents. If you have a chance to book this cabin, please do--you won't ever want to leave.

This was, by far, my best experience staying in a rental. Joanne was so sweet and accommodating. She picked me up at the dock when I got off of the ferry and personally took me to the cabin and showed me around. She left freshly made breakfast goodies on a shelf on the porch every morning (breakfast isn't served anywhere on the island). She made sure I had everything I needed for my stay. She was wonderful. The cabin itself was amazing. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was great, it was near the end of a quiet little road. The ocean was just a short walk away, I could see it from the front yard. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea and a full spice rack. I had such a fun and relaxing stay. I HIGHLY recommend staying in Joanne's cabin!

Wonderful Getaway

The cabin set in the woods and just a short walk to the shore was a great little getaway for my wife and I. Joanne and Paul were, by far, the best landlords we have encountered. Their gracious attention to every detail, and may supprises that we didn't expect that they provided made our trip to Maine the best that it could have been.

Acadia + Quiet retreat

This is the perfect place for a couple who want a quiet getaway that is close to Acadia. Joanne and Paul are fantastic hosts who are close by and ready to help with anything. They have lived, worked and raised a family on Little Cranberry Island, and are a wealth of information and suggestions. Their cabin is beautiful and comfortable.

Idyllic Retreat

The cabin was perfect. Beautiful, stylish and comfortable with everything we could possibly need. The island is lovely and easily explored. Joanne and Paul are fabulous hosts. We enjoyed delicious breakfast treats each morning and Paul delivered lobsters for our enjoyment. It was truly a wonderful experience!

Fantastic Get Away!

Our time at the Islesford Cabin was outstanding! Paul & Joanne are very gracious, generous hosts and attended to every little detail, including suggestions for travel and getting to the island, catching the ferry, and of course, delicious breakfast treats every morning! The cabin is well supplied for two, and we were able to cook a couple of meals "in" as well as visit the local Dock Restaurant. We enjoyed the quiet of the small island, and look forward to visiting again in the future. Thanks for a great trip!

Perfect Island Retreat

My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary stay on Little Cranberry! Joanne and Paul were fantastic hosts. From check in to check out Joanne was there to answer any of our questions. You can tell that they truly care about the experience that their guests have. It was hard coming back home!

Dreamy from start to finish

We had such a magical stay! My partner and I stayed for 8 nights and I wished we had stayed longer. The cabin was clean, so comfortable and has everything you may need. Joanne is a gem and makes sure that your stay is great from start to finish. The ferry was super easy to catch to get on and off island. We can't wait to book again for next summer. If you have found this cabin available to book, you should definitely book it.

Island Experience

This gem of a cottage is situated on Little Cranberry Island, which turned out to be an entirely new experience of Maine. Magical! Plus Joanne and Paul are the consummate hosts. Perfect if you want quiet, lobsters galore, and close proximity to hiking at Arcadia Park. Highly recommended to say the least!

Absolutely Magical!

Joanne and Paul provide an elevated experience from start to finish and the cabin is wonderful! Very well equipped - they have thought of everything. We thoroughly enjoyed using Islesford as our home base to explore Acadia/MDI. Just as much, we loved exploring Islesford and learning all about its rich history. Using the mailboat ferry was fun and easy and, in our opinion, added to the experience. We absolutely plan on returning to this magical cabin!

Great Quiet Island Getaway

We had an amazing time staying at this tiny cabin! Very clean, well stocked, and everything you could possibly need. We left the island everyday in the ferry to explore Acadia and other nearby areas and then spent mornings and evenings on Little Cranberry Island. AC works wonderful for the hot muggy days. The morning treats that Joanne made every morning were always a yummy treat! Super nice and responsive hosts, would definitely stay again if in the area!! It is a little piece of Paradise to stay here!! The only suggestion that would make it over the top, is bikes to use while staying on the island!

Amazingly wonderful dream stay

The perfect trip, the perfect cabin, the perfect hosts. What else can I say? This was the best rental I have ever stayed in by a mile. We just wanted a relaxing place to stay in Maine, what we found is our new favorite destination. The cabin is perfect, clean, beautiful and secluded. It is on an island and you can only get there by boat, but the ferries that serve it are frequent and super easy to use. Frankly, that only added to the fun and experience. The hosts are the most accommodating and considerate people you will ever meet. I almost booked a different place but saw this one just in time. Wow how fortunate I am. Our trip would have been fine if we had stayed at an ordinary place but this rental made it unforgettable. I can’t wait to return. And eat more lobsters!

Islesford Cabin

This cabin was absolutely perfect. Just what we needed. A few minute walk to a beautiful beach filled with amazing rocks and wildlife. All the neighbors were so friendly. The hosts went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. We learned how to cook, lobster and had breakfast waiting for us every morning. Fresh baked scones, muffins, yogurt, parfait with fresh berries, and homemade granola, the best bread pudding I have ever had in my life. Just a few reasons why you need to run to book this stay. We got a ride from the dock when we arrived to bring all of our luggage to the cabin. We got a ride when we departed so we didn’t have to carry our luggage. I wish we had more time to spend with the hosts, they are so friendly and so kind and extremely generous and , I miss them.

Visit to Acadia National Park

Our cabin on Little Cranberry Island was the perfect get-away for two! The cabin was so clean and so tastefully decorated and comfortable. Joanne provided us fabulous breakfasts every morning! Absolutely delicious. Both she and Paul are wonderful and knowledgeable hosts and made our stay so easy and welcoming. We loved the adventure of life on an island for a week and the peace and solitude it provided. Beautiful island, beautiful views and a fun ride to and from the Northeast Harbor every day. A great way to relax and spending a week hiking and biking in one of our favorite National Parks, Acadia. Would highly recommend a stay in Joanne and Paul's beautiful cabin. Excellent hosts! Paul even provided fresh lobster for us one evening! Delicious. A week we will never forget!

Perfect get away to reconnect

It was exactly what we were looking for. Very clean and cozy. This is the first time, at the end of a vacation that I didn't look forward to going back to my own bed. My wife and I didn't use this stay as a way to visit the coast and see the sights. We used it as a place to get away. The island is isolated and it was exactly what we wanted. It is not an island of the rich. It is an island of the working man. The restaurant was great. We went there 3 times. The breakfast treats were outstanding. The ferry rides were a treat instead of a chore. Paul's lobsters were delicious. We took walks on the beach (we had the entire beach to ourselves). We watched lobsterman bring in their catch. We met new friends in our hosts Joanne and Paul. If you want time away, but not in a touristy way, this is your place. We did spend a day in Bar Harbour doing the tourist thing and that was fun, but it wasn't the highlight of our trip.

Adventure and Rest - PERFECT STAY

First and foremost, Joanne and Paul were the most amazing hosts we’ve ever had. There was no detail put into the cabin or their hospitality left unnoticed. The breakfasts every morning were filling, delicious, and much appreciated! Not having to cook breakfast allowed us to sleep in on the most comfortable bed ever! The island- it’s the perfect spot for a proper getaway. Not only was it the safest I’ve ever felt in my adult life, it was so peaceful and calm. Everyone was really kind - it was such a quaint and close knit community. This time of year (mid-September) was the perfect fall weather. We enjoyed a couple of days meandering around the island and relaxing at the cabin, and then we did two day trips to Acadia. Once you’re off the ferry, it’s a quick drive into the main part of Acadia. We ventured further to the Schoodic Peninsula and it was so worth it - the views were incredible. If you’re looking for the perfect spot to rest on the days you’re not exploring Acadia, please do yourself a favor and book Joanne and Paul’s cabin. We cannot wait to return!

Island Retreat

This cabin was perfect for our vacation in Maine! After doing activities during the day it was so nice to have this quiet peaceful cabin to come back to and relax. It had everything we needed and we couldn’t ask for better hosts! Joanne is awesome and goes out of her way to make sure things are good for you. The morning treats were fabulous! We really enjoyed the ferry rides everyday. We met a lot of nice people!

Relaxing and peaceful!

Our Islesford Cottage stay was exactly what we wanted. The cottage is very well appointed with everything we needed for our eight day stay. It is incredibly relaxing and peaceful. Joanne and Paul are awesome hosts and go above and beyond in everything they do. From the moment they picked us up at the dock until they dropped us off they make sure everything is perfect. The morning treats and surprises start every day off with a smile. The lobsters they provided right off Paul's lobster boat were fantastic. We really enjoyed discovering the history and meeting many residents of Islesford and Great Cranberry Island by taking advantage of the easy ferry back and forth. Everyone is very proud of their island and happy to talk about their experiences and lifestyle. Overall, our visit was awesome and everything we hoped for.

A Hidden Gem

I almost hate to write this because I want this to stay hidden but I know that's not possible :). We had the most amazing time at "the cabin in the woods" . We did a "half work-half vacation" on the island so we needed to have really internet which we did. It was great for streaming video calls etc. The cabin itself has all the amenities to make you super comfortable. Joanne and Paul set you up with everything you need to make you comfortable and do a great job of communicating everything you need to get to the island. Everyone talks about the "goodies" that Joanne bakes and brings every morning to the cabin and they are sooo good. They are the best hosts I have ever seen and you will want to sit down and chat with them. Good people! If you forget to bring something to the island, the little general store at the dock may have it for a reasonable price. The island restaurant has great food and the locals are super friendly. 25 minute ferry trips back and forth to the mainland give you easy access to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor or some of the other islands. We are already planning on when we can get back out there again. We loved it!

We have met so many wonderful people who have come to relax and explore our little slice of heaven. We really enjoy greeting people who have never experienced Maine (or an island!) and showing off this very special place. The cabin is on our property, about 200 feet from our main home. It used to be a bunkhouse for our teenage kids and we decided to convert to a rustic wooded retreat for friends, family and guests from around the world- truly a labor of love we have never regretted.
