See more pictures, get area information, a link to our blog and an interactive map on our web site. The link is below right under the CALENDAR button!

You'll find our well-loved family beach house casually furnished in comfortable 'Shabby-chic', 'Country-Living' cottage style. Relax and enjoy yourself - nothing is fussy or precious. Soothing colors, abundant warm sunshine, cooling breezes and life on the water close to nature are what this house is all about.

You'll also find many amenities in our home that you won't find in other vacation homes because we and our friends actually stay here as often as possible!

Our favorites include:
Family games, beach towels, sun hats, books, DVDs, cookbooks, tons of kitchen equipment to prepare and serve big meals, charcoal grill, and beach toys are all here for you to use and enjoy. Big chaise lounges to sun bathe, a shady porch swing, and a cozy chair by the fireplace for you to put your feet up for that very occasional rainy day are also part of the package.

All rooms (except the twin bedroom and the laundry room) have expansive views of Perdido Bay. Eight people can sleep comfortably on one king, one queen, two twin, and two sleeper sofas. Also two twin air mattresses for overnight guests or children.

All bedrooms have ample reading lights and ceiling fans and are comfortable places to curl up in for privacy. The master suite (king-sized bed) has its own private bath and the other two bedrooms share a bath. Both baths have tubs with showers. The master bath has a double bowl vanity.

The dining room table seats six and altogether with two loveseats, a huge coffee table and a big round folding table, we can seat fourteen or more in the open living/dining room indoors. Another eight can sit on the open bay side deck at the round wrought iron table with a big umbrella.

Good Haven House is on the shores of pristine Perdido Bay - about halfway out on Innerarity Point. Sun, swim, fish, crab, and snorkel right from the dock in your own front yard! You can also keep your boat, be it kayak, canoe, shallow draft power boat, raft, or jet ski tied up there as well.

Great outdoor spaces include a big sunny 50 foot x 10 foot deck (walk out from living room and master bedroom), 30 foot x 20 foot screen room, a shady patio area under deck on the bay side with a porch swing to while away hot afternoons, an open outdoor shower to wash off sand and salty water, and a bright balcony off the dining room.

The 60 foot private dock features stairs up to a sun deck with lounge chairs. At the end of the pier is the perfect place to renew and do your morning yoga or relax at the end of another perfect day and watch the sun drop down into Perdido Bay, one of the most spectacular sunsets on the coast! If you're lucky you can also watch the dolphins cruise by looking for their fish dinner.

Catch your own dinner right from the pier. Mullet (if you know how to throw a net), red fish, snapper, and crab are among some of the seafood we've caught out there.

A two acre yard for you to play ball, badminton, barbeque, have picnics, catch frogs, play hide and seek, and climb the old live oak with a good book. The kids can pitch a tent and have the thrill of sleeping out under the stars and being lulled to sleep by the waves lapping at the shore. There's also plenty of room for you to park your RV.

Located about 2 miles from 2 large grocery stores, a hardware store, a bait and tackle shop, 2 gas stations, and several family restaurants, and 3 miles to the beautiful beaches on Perdido Key, we're close enough to be convenient, far enough away for the peaceful serenity you come on vacation for.

Our property is a wonderful place to have your small wedding or as a venue for bridal or baby showers.

We welcome well behaved pets to come on vacation with their owners.

Single Family Beach House on Perdido Bay with Private Pier

Year Purchased: 2004

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Innerarity Point

We chose the Perdido area for it's wonderful Southern sensibilities and it's proximity to the pristine, uncrowded, sugar white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. We chose Innerarity Point specifically because it's a 'local' neighborhood. No highrises or traffic here. All of our great neighbors are full time residents.

The Unique Benefits at this House

Nature is all around from the dolphins cruising by the dock to birds, small animals and frogs in the woods. Quiet, the smell of clean air, the gentle lapping of the water, a storm blowing up from the Gulf on a hot summer afternoon, and incredible sunsets over the bay.

Dear Susan, Thank you so much for opening your warm and friendly home to us. It was so relaxing! We felt so at home here. The beds were cozy and furniture comfy. And for anyone else wanting pizza to be delivered, Lillian's is the only place that delivers. It was delicious! Looking forward to coming again.

We have enjoyed our stay at Good Haven House. Thank you for the tables. One had a 750 piece puzzle of fish being solved. The other had numerous domino games, spades, Phase 10, Sequence and Taboo being played (we're very competitive! :) ) The seafood has been great. We left some menus for future guests. Hope you can visit Columbiana, Alabama sometime. Thank you! Note: Eat at Trigger's - good gumbo!

Loved it!

Guest: Elisabeth (outside of Atlanta, GA)
Date of Stay: 06/04/11 Review Submitted: 06/22/11

My husband and I (and our 2 dogs) stayed at Good Haven for a week. We didn't want to leave! The house has a wonderful view of the Bay. We saw dolphins from the deck and pier a few times - so cool! We also saw herons, owls, osprey, and pelicans, just to name a few of the birds that frequent the area. It is also so convenient and easy to get to the beach too - just a short drive away to so many beautiful beaches. We had fun riding our bikes in the area also. Good Haven = great vacation spot for us!

Owner response:Elizabeth, Thank you so much for the lovely review! You love the same things we do about Good Haven House. I'm thrilled you saw the dolphins. There's a pod that comes through Perdido Bay every day hunting for their dinner and the last time we were at the house we didn't see them. I was so worried that they had been harmed or driven away by the oil spill. I'm relieved by your report, they're like part of the family! We hope you'll come and stay with us often. Thanks again, Susan

Wonderful time at Goodhaven House

Guest: Kathy (Claremore< OK)
Date of Stay: 10/01/10 Review Submitted: 06/08/11

My Husband and I are retired, and we spent a month last winter at Goodhaven House. It was our first trip there and it was the most relaxing, peaceful and comfortable vacation that we have ever had. The view of Perdido Bay over the well grassed lawn is incredible! There is a second floor deck that runs the length of the house and faces the Bay and the dock that stretches out into the Bay. We spent almost every morning having coffee, reading and visiting with one another while sitting on the back deck. This deck is accessible by the sliding doors in both the large master "en suite" bedroom and the Den/Livingroom. The kitchen has most any of thr utensisl, pots & pans, glassware and tableware that one might want to prepare food. The first time we went to the Orange Beach Coastal Area, we stayed in a high rise condo. Although it had a nice oceanview balcony, it was often so windy, and, frankly boring, to sit on for any length of time, that we outside for far less time than we were at Goodhaven House. . Also, all the ourdoor areas of the high rise complex were all concrete and very little green area in site. At Goodhaven House, the home is surrounded by tall pines and a lot of grassed areas. We have 2 pets, which are allowed for a nominal fee, and it was wonderful to have the large area to walk them, and us, too. Also, the ground floor of the house is a nice screened in area to also sit and visit and grill in. It was also reassuring to have an area like that to leave our dogs in when we went somewhere that they couldn't accompany us to. The beds were comfortable, the sheets, pillows and towels were soft and plentiful. In fact,we enjoyed ourselves so much that we have already reserved another month this year. It was kind of funny, that both my husband and I had an understanding as to why it was called "Goodhaven House" after only 1 night there. And, as the end of our vacation got closer, we both didn't want to leave because of the peaceful and relaxing time we had there. I would recommend this homer to anyone w3ho wants to "get away from it all"
