GOOD HAVEN HOUSE

See more pictures on our web site, goodhavenhouse and on flickr. We also have an interactive Google map on our web site under GETTING HERE. The link to our web site is below right under the CALENDAR button or google search goodhavenhouse!

You'll find our well-loved family home casually furnished in comfortable 'Shabby-chic', 'Country-Living' cottage style. Relax and enjoy yourself - nothing is fussy or precious. Soothing colors, abundant warm sunshine, cooling breezes and life on the water close to nature are what this house is all about.

You'll also find many amenities in our home that you won't find in other vacation homes because we and our friends actually stay here as often as possible!

NEW FOR 2008
We have created a beautiful white sand beach down by the waterfront for the kids to play in. They can build sand castles while you watch them from the deck.
We also have a brand new Weber charcoal grill for you to barbeque your 'catch' on.

Our favorites include:
Bicycles, family games, beach towels, sun hats, books, DVDs, cookbooks, tons of kitchen equipment to prepare and serve big meals, charcoal grill, and beach toys are all here for you to use and enjoy. Big chaise lounges to sun bathe, a shady porch swing, and a cozy chair by the fireplace for you to put your feet up for that very occasional rainy day are also part of the package.

Our home was completely redecorated in 2006. All rooms (except the twin bedroom and the laundry room) have expansive views of Perdido Bay. Eight people can sleep comfortably on one king, one queen, two twin, and two sleeper sofas. Also two twin air mattresses for overnight guests or children.

All bedrooms have ample reading lights and ceiling fans and are comfortable places to curl up in for privacy. The master suite (king-sized bed) has its own private bath and the other two bedrooms share a bath. Both baths have tubs with showers. The master bath has a double bowl vanity.

The dining room table seats six and altogether with two sofas and huge coffee table we can seat fourteen in the open living/dining room indoors. Another eight can sit on the open bayside deck at the round wrought iron table with a big umbrella.

The house is on the shores of pristine Perdido Bay — sun, swim, fish, crab, and snorkel right from the dock in your own front yard! You can also keep your boat, be it kayak, canoe, shallow draft power boat, raft, or jet ski tied up there as well.

Great outdoor spaces include a big sunny 50 foot x 10 foot deck (walk out from living room and master bedroom), 30 foot x 20 foot screen room, a shady patio area under deck on the bay side with a porch swing to while away hot afternoons, an open outdoor shower to wash off sand and salty water, and a bright balcony off the dining room.

The 60 foot private dock features stairs up to a sun deck with lounge chairs. At the end of the pier is the perfect place to renew and do your morning yoga or relax at the end of another perfect day and watch the sun drop down into Perdido Bay, one of the most spectacular sunsets on the coast! If you're lucky you can also watch the dolphins cruise by looking for their mullet dinner.

Catch your own dinner right from the pier. Mullet (if you know how to throw a net), red fish, snapper, and crab are among a few of the fish that we've caught out there.

A two acre yard for you to play ball, badminton, barbeque, have picnics, catch frogs, play hide and seek, and climb the old live oak with a good book. The kids can pitch a tent and have the thrill of sleeping out under the stars and being lulled to sleep by the waves lapping at the shore. There's also plenty of room for you to park your RV.

Susan, This was our first time in Perdido Bay. We had a wonderful time. The house was a wonderful place to come back to after a long day at the beach. We'll be coming back to Perdido Bay in the future and hopefully Good Haven House will be available. Thanks again for the fun and the memories. Sincerely, The Thurmans

    • Really a nice place! The neighborhood is quiet, and it's very close to the beach and shopping. There were dolphins swimming right off the dock. Can't wait till our next visit!

    • We just returned from a wonderful vacation at Good Haven House; what an enjoyable stay! The location is great; peaceful and serene, a bounty of wildlife and, best of all, not a condo in sight! The house is lovely and bright with plenty of room inside and huge decks and a screened room outside. Thanks for a great vacation!

    • We had a great time at Good Haven House but our dogs, Derby & Foster, had an even better time! They are older dogs and acted years younger - wanting to play non-stop. The yard and access to water was ideal. Neighbors are a little closer then we thought but the ones we met were super friendly and allowed us to use their beach access for our old dogs to wade into the water. We also saw an amazing amount of wildlife - dolphins or porpoises (not sure which,) ospreys, pelicans, herons, and even a couple of bald eagles! So for anyone that wants to take nature photos it has a lot to offer as well. Thanks so much Susan for allowing our pets to come with us - made all the difference in the world.

    • We loved staying at the Havenga House. There was wonderful beds there and the furnishings were great. The bay was particularly great because it didn't have any jellyfish in there. Unlike the ocean that had tons. we will stay there again. Thanks Havenga house for a great vacation in the beautiful Pensecola. Oh and try out the original restaurant only 1 mile away. It had awesome food.
