    • We just returned from spending a week in Casamar and it was just wonderful! It is a gorgeous house set in a great location with enough privacy but also steps away from the beach. The pool and palapa are magnificent and we really enjoyed our stay there. You can literally walk to restaurants close to the house or stay in and cook, which we actually did almost every night. The pictures don't do justice to this beautiful place! The staff was also very helpful in anything we asked or needed. While there, we even saw humpback whales jumping in the ocean and could not have been more lucky, since it was the end of the season! We will treasure our memories from this trip to Troncones and to wonderful Casamar and hope to return soon. Thanks again for sharing this very special place!

    • We just returned from spring break at Casamar. We loved it and slept wonderfully - sometimes beds in Mexico can be too hard, but the beds and pillows at Casamar are just right! The main house has two very nice suites and the kitchen and living areas are spacious and comfortable. The bougainvillea in full flower, just made the picture perfect with the crashing waves in the background. My husband wants a hammock like the one in the living room! The birds were also fun to watch as they fished near the tidal pools. The blender in the kitchen makes fabulous margaritas! Also it was nice to have the washing machine for a fresh change of clothes for the way home. There was internet service - which I suppose is good - my husband had to stay connected to work. I wish we had remembered to check our departure time, we could have stayed a few more hours! Cell phones work some of the time. The text messaging seemed to work better. There is a land line so it might be more reliable to use the house phone with a calling card for anyone requiring contact with the states. We were happy to see that there were no TVs. Confession: We did go out for dinner at the Cafe Sol in Troncones so we could watch a final four game! The pool was a nice place to retreat in the afternoons - the temperature of the water was perfect. Reading under the large palapa was so nice. There was also a fridge in the large palapa bar which we stocked with drinks! The guest casita has equally nice views. It was great to watch the surfers over our morning coffee, take long walks on the beach and simply relax! The staff were very attentive and we hope to come again some day. I almost didn't want to write this review for fear of never getting a reservation in the future! I guess we'll just have to plan ahead!

    • We stayed in Casamar's delightful Casita for a week. The furnishings are well appointed – a simple, rustic elegance. There's a comfortable king-size bed, decent bathroom and refreshing outdoor shower. The open air living space and kitchenette is spacious and a pleasant spot to relax. The kitchen itself is well stocked with basic appliances, utensils, and dishes to prepare light meals. Nery, who cleans, does a wonderful job and often leaves romantic floral decorations on the bed. Manuel, the gardener, keeps the grounds impeccable. We spent much of our time by the pool, which is large enough for a few quick laps between chapters in your book. The outdoor wet bar is a shady retreat from the sun. During our visit, the owners were staying in the main house. They checked in with us from time to time, yet fully respected our privacy. We rarely crossed paths. We did glimpse inside their house, and it appeared as beautiful as the images suggest. The location on Tronconces Point is unique, serene and very private, yet several nice restaurants are a short walk away in Manzanillo Bay. We found Hacienda Eden particularly enjoyable – very creative use of fresh, local ingredients. We survived without a car, but the town of Troncones itself is a decent walk either along the beach or dusty road. Taxis are relatively easy to secure with a phone call from the Casita or while in town. You do have to accept the occasional bug and rough edges to fully appreciate Troncones. We are a 30 something married couple from the Pacific Northwest and wanted to unwind in rustic luxury. The Casita, and Troncones, fit the bill perfectly. Wireless is available, but we left our laptops at home in order to really escape work and other diversions. We traveled in early November, before the holiday rush. Town was quiet, gearing up for the season though not fully open for business. We found it an excellent time to just shut down. If action and nightlife are more your style, check out nearby Zihuatanejo.

    • Once you walk through the front doors and the Pacific Ocean greets you as you step inside, you don't even notice the house at first. I sat every morning watching the surfers while sipping coffee, then the pool, a siesta in the shade of the pool hut (fully equipped bar, fridge etc) a short walk along the beach to a local Inn for lunch, another siesta, later, a Margarita while watching the most beautiful sunset you will ever see - shortly, the twinkling lights of the small fishing boats bobbing at sea take you into the night......You really find out what relaxing means at Casamar...truly the most amazing place!
